Macedon Canal Park

If you're looking for a great spot to enjoy some outdoor recreation, Macedon Canal Park is well worth a visit. The park has a rich history, and is particularly well-known for its excellent fishing. In addition to being a great place to relax and enjoy nature, the park also has top-notch facilities nearby with a multitude of recreation support.

Park, port-a-potty, trails, historic sites.

Camping is no longer allowed overnight.

This is such a lovely and peaceful campground!

Unfortunately as of 9/14/2022 Lock 30 will no longer host overnight campers. Due to irresponsible campers and a string of undesirable incidents that happened over this past summer the campground NY state has transferred to the village of Macedon. It will be a day-use only park.

However, we are grateful to be one of the last overnight campers. It really is a wonderful park.

The Butterfly trail is beautiful and easy loop. I highly recommend spending the day fishing, boating or pinicing.

Very nice park with access to the Erie Canal and the Empire State Trail. Plenty of parking, very nice picnic area. Camping for those traveling the canal. Butterfly trail is a wonderful trail for all abilities. I was there in off season, but will come back again.

Nice place to go fishing along a clean, calm canal, or the locke. Plenty of room to enjoy your own space, and throw out some line. A little playground is there, but very basic swings with a little balance beam. Nice for walking and enjoying nature.

Fun place to take your dog or kids to go fishing or watch the lock open up and close with the boats going through. The Erie canal has a walking and biking trail Along with some rich history. Enjoy the outdoors Covid 19 Safe area for distancing.

Nice place good spot to pitch a tent for free. We had good luck fishing here caught some decent fish. The kids enjoyed seeing the lock operate too

Very nice scenic trail for walking or biking or birdwatching

The butterfly trail is so amazing. I love the toddler story book and the fairy houses if you can find them. Great place to fish if you enjoy an atmosphere of peace and quiet. A great place to take pictures of butterflies and the boats on the canal.

Great park to relax and have family activities. Also a great spot to fish on the lock and catch one of the most elusive fish to catch the Black Crappie.

Wonderful place for a walk. The butterfly trail is a pleasure with a bench at the end to look out on the canal. As a senior, I enjoy the benches as a stop over all along this path.

It's a neat place to see a lock in action. There also a small playground.

Lovely park for fishing boating or picnicking. Park backs up to well maintained walking and biking path. Remember to check out the butterfly trail!

Beautiful little nature trail is full of little benches for sitting. It's a great fishing spot and has picnic tables and a bathroom.

Great spot to relax along the Erie Canal. The Erie Canalway Trail is right there and it's very convenient to put in a canoe or kayak.

This is our favorite place to walk. It's always clean and never too crowded. Great spot for walking, biking, picnics or just relaxing

Just an under appreciated spot there's a to of potential especially if they made the camping area more viable.... It could become a destination for Erie Canal visitors and travelers

One of my favorite places in Macedon

There's a park with a gazebo, baseball and soccer fields, a very wide trail right beside the water, and great scenery.

Bicentennial celebration was a lot of fun!
