What a fantastic piece of the American spirit the Big Muskie Bucket is. Things such as these are what built this great country, and when you find something like this on display, it's hard not to feel the pride that these men felt.

Took a motorcycle ride from Piqua, Ohio to see it. Great ride, beautiful country. The bucket was impressive, it is massive.

An amazing part of the history of what coal mining was and what it meant to the area so much. It's astonishing how massive the bucket is and to think of it in action. The fact that you can stand in the bucket and just be in awe of the sheer size of what it was and what it did is amazing.,

It's really difficult to capture into photos the immensity of the size of this scoop. The display is very well done, with nice areas for picnic grilling and plenty of shade to take a break.

The ride to the monument, however, is rather harrowing for riders looking for an adventure. Plenty of newly laid tar snakes and a fresh coat of chip/seal on winding, twisty rt 83 makes the route a bit more dangerous.

So, fair warning...if you're riding to see this monument, take your time, limit your leans and be mindful of the 12 miles of loose gravel leading up to the bucket.

Other than that...enjoy the ride!

The Musky Bucket was absolutely amazing!! The pictures don't show its true MASSIVE size. It's a must see and something that should be on your bucket list, lol. It's a great ride for anyone whether it be motorcycles or by car, because the scenery is just beautiful and relaxing. Bring a lunch with you and have a seat at one of the many picnic tables and take in the scenery and the awe inspiring size of the Big Musky Bucket while you enjoy your lunch. You won't be disappointed and you'll wish you'd visited sooner 😁

The big Muskie bucket is a must see for anyone interested in the history of the Ohio’s strip mining for coal. The land has all been reclaimed and is a haven for wildlife.

I enjoyed seeing and reading about the history here. Be careful, Big Muskie is slippery when wet we found out the hard way.

Big Muskie Bucket is located in Miners Memorial Park, which is dedicated to the history of coal mining in Ohio. The park also features a museum, a coal mine tour, and a variety of other exhibits. Big Muskie Bucket is a popular tourist destination and is a great place to learn about the history of coal mining and the engineering marvel that was Big Muskie.

The bucket is located on a hill overlooking the park and provides stunning views of the surrounding area. Visitors can climb inside the bucket and get a sense of its massive size. There is also a small museum located next to the bucket that tells the story of Big Muskie.

This thing really is large, the pictures do not do it justice.

This was a cool attraction and salute to the miners of the area. All the locals kept asking if we'd seen it. Now we have seen it and I'd recommend a stop. Typical park style restroom.

This is a great place to visit. It's a little off the beaten path but those are always worth it. Cool park, well maintained, interesting history. Too bad the actual machine was not saved but they did a great job preserving this.

It's a _big_ bucket used to clear dirt necessary for coal mining. Definitely recommend! It turned out to be a great stop on our trip up I-77 (a little ways off the interstate, but was well worth it for us). Area had several picnic tables and pot toilets. And the scenic Ohio countryside getting to the bucket is beautiful.

This place was mind blowing. We pass the sign for it off the expressway on our way home from
OBX every year and this year we decided to stop. There are walking trails nearby for something to do but we came only for the big bucket. It was truly something to see.

I visited the Big Muskie Bucket in McConnelsville, OH, and it was really quite a sight! This significant piece of history truly puts into perspective the magnitude of mining operations. It is not just a bucket; it is a monument to human engineering and dedication to the work. The surrounding area is tranquil, making it an ideal place for a brief stop and some cool photographs. It is unquestionably worth a visit if you are nearby and interested in history or engineering marvels.

Beautiful and fitting memorial to the miners who worked in this area. Also to the land reclamation efforts that are ongoing. Big Muskie is an understatement. Until you stand inside it, you don't actually get a sense of how big the bucket really is.

This is history! This was really interesting to see and read all about strip mining/drag line excavating in this area. They have a large parking lot, bathrooms, and several areas with boards that explain the history of the area. The coolest part is being able to stand inside the bucket. Totally worth a drive to see this.

Everyone should see this at least once in their lifetime! The pictures don't do it justice. Wish it wasn't so cold on our visit so we could have stayed a little longer. Loved all the information provided. Very clean, beautiful park.

Amazing memorial, the Big Muskie Bucket even has a beautiful road to get to. There is limited parking. A must see location if you ride a motorcycle especially.
