Rising Park

When there is snow, multiple sledding options of increased speed and difficulty. In the warmer months, nice playgrounds, pleasant pond to walk around. It actually was cold enough in January of 2024 that they allowed sakting. Fishing is supposed to be catchband release and restricted to kids, but I'm not sure how much that age limit is enforced. Nice trail to the top of Mt. Pleasant with a nice view of the Fairgrounds. They redid some of the tennis courts to pickleball if you are into that. Several shelter houses are available for rent. Bathrooms in warm weather are park bathrooms.

Very relaxing. The first 10-minute walk uphill but so worth it.

This was a fun hike. It’s fairly steep lot of the way but has a very nice wide path to walk. The views are worth tbt climb. We also saw a few deer in the woods

This is always a great place to take the family. Aside from a great hike to the top, there is also several ponds, tennis courts, and a very extensive park. There is plenty of parking and many areas to cookout or picnic. This location is also pet friendly. Overall this is a great pick for a free family outing.

It's a fairly steep hike to the top but the view is great. It probably takes the majority of people 20 minutes to climb. You'll definitely be breathing hard though. I also saw several people playing Pickleball in the morning. Nice park with a pond.

Hiked a little with our dogs. Great views of the city, and it's truly fun to walk and for our pups to climb!!

For dog owners: the only trash cans we saw were at the start/end of the trails. I recommend walking your dog around a bit to get any #2s out before you start 🐶

Great Park! The hike to Mount Pleasant is pretty easy and worth the effort. Battle of Valverde was a battle near a ford. The Union had a line of defense then sent troops around making the middle defense weak and the Confederate went through and won the battle!

My 2nd time coming to this park. Def worth stopping & spending time there. It’s almost 40 minutes away I would spend more time if it were closer.

This park is great for kids! We did not get to climb the hill but will do soon!

Nestled between two hills, lots of trees, a pond, a nice kids playground, a hike path, shelter houses. Very clean and well maintained. Beautiful.

One of the nicest and most scenic parks near Central Ohio! Hike up to the scenic cliff (if you dare!) I would suggest trying to go M-F because on the weekends parking is crazy because they play youth sports here then. Awesome place to escape the hustle and bustle of city living.

What a view at Rising Park. A great getaway from the city. If you're up for great hike and a breathtaking view Rising Park is the place to go. Be prepared for a steep hike if you want to see the view over Lancaster. You may want a walking stick. The pond at the park is very clean and you can fish. It is a catch and release only. There are plenty of places for a picnic and there are shelters as well.

This park is very beautifully landscaped for all family members to enjoy. The trail although a little steep is pleasing to the eyes and the view when we finally got to the top is totally worth the climb. I am definitely repeating this one.

One of my favorite parks in the entire US. Nearby, Chillicothe was one better in the day. If you are passing by, take a break. Take time. Walk the park trail to the cliff or to the lake. Peaceful. Beautiful. Fall leaves provide magical beauty.

It is a very beautiful park! Highly recommended to take family to this park.

Sixth time hiking up Mt Pleasant with Jason. Breath taking views at the top. Half way up mountain we saw a six point buck and a doe. Not afraid of people. Great exercise.

Great location in the middle of Lancaster, where a short, uphill hike will take you to the top of the rise. From there, you can look down above Lancaster to the west. Inspiring views.
