Leman Academy of Excellence (Central Tucson, AZ)

I have two granddaughters in Kindergarten and we are exceptionally pleased with the school. We were trying to find just the right school for the girls, just starting out. Leman has an amazing program and the girls love it. Thank you, Leman Academy, for your high standards!

I have three kids attending the Central campus. As a parent of a previous TUSD (A RATED) student, I am thrilled with this school. Expectations for academics and behavior are superior in every way. My first grader is learning skills and using curriculum we didn’t see until 3rd grade at TUSD. Leman has a more well rounded approach to education that includes an emphasis on science, language, music, logic. My 7th grader, who was hesitant to transfer, is so happy he did. He commented that he has more friends here than over his entire scholastic history at public school. I love this campus, staff and teachers. It has been nothing but a positive experience for us. Great morale, communication and community. Highly recommend.

We thought the curriculum was going to be more advanced as we heard a lot of great things about the school. The school themselves said their curriculum is very rigorous and each grade is one year advanced. However, our child expressed concerns that the school work was not challenging and that she wasn’t learning anything new. When we expressed our concerns with the dean of the school, we were told to wait to collect data for a semester when it could have easily been done in a one-on-one sitting. But they didn’t give our child a chance to prove herself so that’s why we withdrew her.

If you are currently homeschooling your kids and considering to send them to Leman, rethink your plan. Homeschooled kids are more advanced and you as a parent will be able to decide your kids future, not be left to strict rules that you might not agree with. If you feel that your child is very intelligent, keep doing what you are doing as it’s probably the right thing for them.

Terrible school.
Zero communication.
The teachers and staff quit and the parents are lied to.
Students are failing class and their parents aren’t contacted.
Bullying is entirely tolerated with the attitude, “kids are mean.”
If you’re kid doesn’t have lunch, “oh well, go away.”
No programs. No clubs.
Parents who want to volunteer are resented and told “no.”

There is NO explanation for not expanding your security gate in front of the preschool area. How dare you have full doors of glass and no exterior gate! This makes no sense. We won't be enrolling until that security gate is expanded. That's ridiculous!!!!!

Terrible school! want your child to get bullied? Well come on in to leman academy of excellence they have a lot of programs for that, the students love it😒

Cut my hours and never paid me for my time. They boast about money but can't do the minimum.
