General Hitchcock Campground

Beautifully wooded area. Seasonal water flow in the creek. Clean camp sites and outhouses. Food lockers to protect such from wildlife. Grills and fire rings. Nice first come first serve selection of sites. Does not accommodate large tents, no hookups, no RV spaces.

Really fun area with lots of rocks for climbing and places to explore.

This is a great experience if you're a tent camper. It's not really set up for RVs.

Great hiking trails and campsites are nice. Wonderful adventure

Me and my husband went camping for the first time in a long time to get away from it all at General Hitchcock Campground campsite 11 and had a blast!!! The campsites are a really good size there. We cuddled up and slept in our Jeep it got cold up there we didn't care it was worth it!!! The trails are such a site to see and the view is so beautiful. My husband taught me how to widdle for the first time. So we made a lot of great memories together.😁💙💕

Hiked 3 miles up the wash that runs next to the camp grounds found a awesome box canyon

An amazing place to camp. Located near hiking trails and not far from Rose Canyon Lake. People can be loud and messy. However the bueaty is well worth it.

This is one of my favorite spots to camp .... just make sure to pick up your trash and put the fire out all the way please

This is a great little hidden gem of a camp ground. It is tucked in a side canyon nestled with Oak trees. When it rains, or when the winter snow melts, there is a creek bed that will fill with water. Beware because this area can also flood. There are also a few hiking trails from this location. Because it is in a side canyon, the sun will rise late and set early. There are no city views or vistas from this location. Many of the camp sites are close together so you will most likely not have a lot of privacy. There are vaulted toilets. I did not see any water spickets. 🍃🌄⛺

The place was great, clean, usable grills, and decent restrooms.

Loved the place. Nice area and the creek that flowed through it was beautiful. Unfortunately due to the recent fires the water was dirty. Overall it was a great visit

General Hitchcock is definitely my favorite place to go camping on mt. Lemmon. Pine trees, bathrooms, hiking trails, fire pits, grill, bear boxes. Well maintained campsites.

One of my favorite places to camp! Usually best in spring and fall as it is a little lower on the mountain. Great bicycle routes and hiking!

Quit shady with toilet. no running water. maybe in the wash after rain. Or spring time. small camper space. 14day permits

Great camping spot, all the spots are far enough apart to feel secluded but close enough to feel safe. Also mountains near by are great for climbing.

Great campground not too far up the mountain. Toilets no water. Worked great for our Lemmon Drop.
