The Jennings Hotel

Stayed at the Jennings again after having such a great stay last year. Nothing has changed. The hotel is great. The common area is awesome, the bathrooms are spotless and the rooms are exactly as pictured. I stayed in #2 and the balcony access was fantastic. I had to cut my stay short due to weather and Greg was more than accommodating to my needs and was quick to respond with my change request. I hope to stay again in a few months when I come back!

Great spot- very fun and historic with refined modern aesthetic. All shared spaces were very clean and well furnished, and the overall charm of the building is lovely. We ended up adding a second night since our first night in Joseph was so fun. Sauna is a great feature- definitely my favorite feature and the reason we chose to stay here

We just spent the Labor Day weekend in Joseph at the Jennings Hotel. I must say what a breath of fresh air to stay in such a well curated, minimalist style beautiful old building. The amenities were perfect, the space, super comfortable. For a small town of only just over 1000 people, this place is gorgeous. The Aaesop was an added bonus, and so was having a bath. Room 10 was nothing short of amazing. Loved every minute.

We loved this hotel, even extended our stay. Room #6 was spacious, beautifully decorated with amazing view of the Wallowas. Located in the heart of the charming town of Joseph. We’ll be back!

My husband (still getting used to typing that word!) and I stayed here for a few nights for our mini honeymoon and it was perfect! We stayed in a room with a private bathroom (5 1/2) and it was perfectly intimate without being too small. We loved the community kitchen and the balcony. We didn't use the kitchen too much, but whenever we walked by, it was always clean and well taken care of. The sauna was my absolute favorite experience though! I very much appreciated the directions on how to properly use a sauna and the native cultural importance it holds.
We can't wait to be back! The only thing we were pretty bummed about was not having access to The Jennings Hotel shop. We weren't sure what was going on as there were no business hours posted, but we really liked what we saw in the window!
Side note: If visiting Joseph for the first time, know that it is very much a "tourist" thriving downtown and not many businesses are open from Monday - Wednesday in out-of-season time. We still had a wonderful time with all the charming local shops and the lake not being too far away.

It's a wonderful place. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. And the communal kitchen was a win. We used the Traeger barbecue to cook dinner one night also. Eating on the balcony while watching the sunset behind the mountains was a treat.And I like that it was located in downtown Joseph. It was very easy to walk to anything in town. There is wifi. But there is no TV. I didn't care since I wasn't there to watch television anyways. If you are planning on visiting during a hot day, be aware that not all rooms have air conditioning. Ours did not. There was a large fan which helped. Also, I think all the rooms are on the second floor with only stairs to access them. So I'd say it isn't handicapped accessible. I'd definitely want to stay again.

We loved our stay here. The unique decor and special touches made it feel like a homey Finish hostel. The kitchen, library, and upstairs deck provided perfect gathering places. The Sauna was perfect for 2 people and their soaps are delish! They are working to open a wood fire pizza shop downstairs too. Please note, If you are sensitive to noise, some rooms are quieter than others.

They get the right details right.
Amazing mattress and sheets and quality Aesop toiletries. I was glad I brought a portable speaker and spent some time in the library. The book selection will make a reader out of a non-reader!
The new wall AC unit was sooooo nice in the 95+ degree weather. The forest fires made Joseph's outdoor air quality terrible. I felt very fortunate to keep my windows closed at night and have clean, cool air. It kept things quiet too. The property manager and owner are working on getting AC units in all rooms. It was a treat to be the first person in the first room with the first AC unit. (Room #7). I slept great.

Great place and innovative concept. The hotel doesn't have any staff on site. You pay upfront via Airbnb, you self check-in and get into your room via a code sent by e-mail. A shared kitchen and a sauna are a nice add-on. No need to have a mediocre bar or restaurant in house, because the Jennings is in the middle of town and there are many options. We loved it.

My time at The Jennings was unforgettable. Greg's kind nature and hospitality is unparalleled. His attention to detail really shows from his choice of kitchenware to how he's curated each room. Our room was cozy, clean and unique, the bed was very comfortable, the sheets were soft. Light poured in from the door that leads out to the long front balcony that overlooks the street below. The sauna was a perfect way to decompress after our hike earlier that day. The chocolate shop, located under the hotel, was to die for. Be sure to get a mocha so you can lick the chocolate spoon. We also got delicious pizza from a spot up the street, Greg knows the spot as he goes there often so be sure to ask him the best combo to get. The Jennings made me fall in love with Joseph. Can't wait to come back as it's even further developed!

I've never had a chance to stay at The Jennings, but it is on my hotel bucket list. The fact that this team put together guest rooms that are each unique and design and all equally beautiful is admirable. To rehab a building that may have otherwise been left unloved shows true vision. Can't wait to make the trip out to see this project in person!

Room 7 (each room is completely different so this matters). The seating area is spacious, the loft is novel and fun, and the table is great to sit at and wake up in the sun with coffee in hand. The comminal litxhen has all the tools and the small supplies (spices, baking basics) for making a meal in. Although with great food options nearby and Arrowhead (chocolate, coffee, tea and many other things) immediately downstairs you can mix and match meal by meal. Right on main street and the staff are awesome! The picture included is the sunset from our room.

Well appointed rooms in a perfect location. Sauna and common room are great too.

Exceptional. At once sophisticated, yet rustic; luxurious, but unfussy; historic-feeling, while relaxed; inspiring, and unpretentious. Incredibly imaginative, and unlike any other lodging experience, in the most uncommon of settings. From the supremely comfy, well appointed beds, to the authentic Scandinavian sauna, or spacious communal kitchen and library; the details at the Jennings hit all the right notes.

The Jennings is my favorite place to stay In Wallowa county. The beauty of the space is unrivaled. The history and story behind restoring the old hotel is visionary and exciting! Greg’s work on the space with the collaboration and community from other artists is a work of genius and the craftsmanship and work is incredible. The building before was neglected and falling apart, now it’s a gorgeous unique hotel in the heart of Joseph.

I grew up in wallowa county and now having traveled all over the world, I am proud to know Greg is creating such a unique and beautiful place to stay in one of the most beautiful places in Oregon. It makes me proud to know The Jennings exists and is my first choice for a place to stay when I’m visiting the county again!

For our wedding, my wife and I had our photographer, videographer and visiting friends stay at the Jennings so they could experience the real beauty of Wallowa county in the best way possible!

Cozy and perfectly located BNB in Joseph. We really enjoyed our stay here in December. It's close to everything we wanted to see and experience. It's right above arrow chocolate which is a big bonus!

So aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Everything was straight and artsy, neat and clean. Renee was super sweet and friendly and the sauna was quite delightful.

Fantastic hotel in historic building at the foot of the Wallowa Mountains! As of 2018, newly renovated rooms have been added. I can't wait to check them out
