Buena Vista Park

If you are looking for a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and are driving through Alma, Wisconsin. Take a trip to Buena Vista Park. Here, you have a gorgeous overlook of the Mississippi River, and it is really easy to get to. Anyone can easily walk to the overlook site. You can also enjoy a picnic here before you continue to your next journey. Would highly recommend!

A great park with fabulous hilltop views of Alma, Mississippi River and the bluffs. Great Vista point most anytime of year.

Beautiful views of the river and the town of Alma! It isn't terribly large, but it does have some space for outdoor activities and picnics. The trees are beautiful. And the Vista is the best with great views of the river and the town below.

The overlook above the city and the Mississippi River is magnificent and can not be captured on a photo. A definite must see if ur in the area.

This was so beautiful and peaceful. Gorgeous views of the Mississippi and the whole town of Alma! We went on the 2nd of April so it was off season and the majority of town was closed but it is a site to see! I recommend having a picnic at the Park, which was our plan but the weather didn't permit. It was still a wonderful day!

This little park situated high above the Mississippi River is well worth the short excursion up the steep and windy road. I've been to Granddads Bluff in La Crosse, Wisconsin; but this one is far superior, in my opinion. There is a tiny restroom, playground equipment and area for picnic, but the views from the edge of this bluff are second to none and I highly, highly recommend a stop here.

This is a great park and the view of the river is spectacular. There was plenty of parking and nice walking path and benches. We can forvthe view but it looks like a great place for a picnic. They do have picnic tables and grills. They have primitive bathrooms.

Such a beautiful place overlooking the Mississippi River at Alma, WI. You can see for miles. My boys and I love it!! Always makes for some great pictures. 😊

Absolutely TOP NOTCH, from the bordering corn field, through the velvety, rolling entry, over the fantastic fossilized limestone walkway, right up to the dazzling rocky edge that drops down to the river. This is a world class
experience. Beautifully maintained.

This is a breathtaking view from the bluffs on the east side overlooking the river and valley below. We were surprised when a couple of visitors came with their Alpine Horns and serenaded everyone that evening.

What a beautiful little hidden gem. One of the best views of the Mississippi River I have ever seen. Wasn't sure making the trek up the hill to this tiny park but it was totally worth it. Just breath taking. With time and development, this could end up being a main tourist destination for sure.

Gorgeous park with outstanding views. I’ve been here fall and spring. Cannot beat the sights. Might even get lucky to see the locks in action with a freighter. We did! Was interesting to watch from above.

First time and was blown away by the view.
Even the rainshowers couldn't keep me from experiencing this, even if it was short lived!

If your near take the time to visit this park and it's amazing view of the Mississippi River, it really is a must see.

Nice parkland w old growth oaks very steep off the paved trail that leads to the vista. Lovely view from the cliff of the bluff of Alma city streets and the Mississippi River. Barges and trains can be seen passing by below. The winding switchback drive up to Beuna Vista is muy bonita

Nice short hiking trail from top of Buena Vista to the bottom. Amazing views of the Mississippi river!! A must!

Absolutely gorgeous lookout toward the Mississippi River Valley!

Not too far off the path but still a hidden gem. This park is high over the bluff overlooking the river valley. While in Alma stop to see the lock and dam. Stand on the walk bridge over the railroad tracks while a train speeds by just under your feet!
