Great location if you wanna stay close but not actually at the resort. You will def save a few $$ with this option. 1.5 miles away. So it’s 5 min max to the slopes vs 30-45 from Taos. Super simple check in/out process. You do need to go to the Alpine lodge at the resort to check in but it’s easy and you can park out front. The room was suite A, upstairs. Plenty of parking. The room was clean and always warm and cozy. It has a humidifier which is awesome to have above 8000ft elevation. Small fridge, a stove, coffee maker (bring your own if you want more than just hotel room coffee), dishes, pretty much anything you may need if you want to eat in. Clean bathroom and shower. Soft cushy towels and most importanly, a comfy queen bed. You also have use of the sauna and hot tub at the lodge itself as well. Did not use this last time as we were pretty beat after skiing all day, but it’s there if you wanna use it.
I’ve stayed at the Lodge at the base a few times in the past and I’ve always been very happy. All in all I would highly recommend staying here. At the Alpine lodge at the resort or at Cottams lodge down the road. Oh and the skiing at Taos is way underrated. IMHO it’s one of the best ski areas in the country. Steep!!

The view was great from the front porch. The kitchen was decently stocked with pots, skillets, utensils, knives, and plates/bowls/cups for simple meals. We cooked most of our meals and brought the dry goods from home and stopped in Taos to get the cold stuff. The village has markets but Taos has better a better selection at better prices. We brought our own things for making special items like baking a birthday cake. The oven temperature was calibrated and the cake came out great. We didn't use the grill but one was available on the porch. It rained daily while we were there so the chair cushions on the porch were always wet we had brought our own folding chairs so didn't matter. We could have taken the cushions off and used the chairs there. The porch view was awesome. We used the space heater in the bathroom most mornings but otherwise just opened and closed the windows to control the temperature inside the cabin. Window screens would be a good addition to cut down on the bugs getting in. We used the hot tub at the Alpine Village Suites after a day of hiking so that was nice.

Absolutely loved our stay! This place is paradise. We drove from san Antonio TX. It was our second time coming, and we can't wait to go again next year.

This cabin was beautiful and only about a mile from the lodge. We checked in at the lodge and we're given the key. The guy at the front desk was super welcoming and answered any questions we had. The kitchen at the cabin has all the things youbwill need to cook, and there is a bbq pit on the porch. Perfect for our family of 5!

We had an amazing stay. I really appreciate how helpful Jessica was in getting the room keys to us as we wound up coming in WAY later than anticipated (I was in a car wreck as I was leaving town to head up to the hotel, and that set us back several hours). Both the bed and the futon couch were wonderfully comfortable. The room was very comfortable for two people to spend time in, more so than you typically find at a hotel. We didn't feel like we were constantly on top of each other. Since I was doing the cooking, I really appreciated the nice cutting board provided. The room was clean, and even the carpet felt nice and clean (I usually wear flip flops when in a hotel room because the carpets just never feel clean, but I didn't this weekend!) It was a really nice place to get away and relax for the weekend. Thank you so much for the wonderful retreat!

Exceptional service. Very friendly staff. Would DEFINITELY stay here again. It is ony a short 1.5 miles from Taos Ski Valley. The views from the room made staying here optimal and even better than being in the ski valley. i felt as if I had the mountain to myself. The beds are marvelous! Great nights sleep.

Cottam's Lodge suites A and C were clean, very comfortable, and great value for a six day visit in early July. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would have no reservations about staying here again.

This house is awesome, we had 7 stay here comfortably. The living area was big enough for everyone to hang out and it was only about 5 minutes from Taos, so easy to get to the mountain and ski.

Beautiful cabin, perfect for a small family. We could hike right outside. We only had a few issues. The website said we could check in at 3pm, but when we got there, they told us the cabin check was actually 4pm. Also, note during the summer, there was only one restaurant option at the top of the mountain for dinner, and it was quite expensive. Overall, this is a great little cabin, and my son LOVED staying in the loft. We actually had brought our own fans, but they did provide a couple. The lack of A/C was not issue because the altitude kept it pretty cool with the windows open.

We had so much fun staying at the lodge. We stayed in lodge B and it was super spacious. The room was fully furnished with pots and pans and dishes and everything you’d need to cook. The only thing that was missing was a potholder and broom! The room was very clean and equipped with a DVD player and satellite TV. The staff was super nice and helpful. It’s in the perfect location, only a mile and a half from the ski valley. We will defiantly be coming back to stay here.

We stayed at Cottam’s Lodge during the summer, so I can’t speak about the town or anything like that. We needed a place to sleep one night during our road trip. The booking was easy. The price was great. Customer service and communication was excellent. Very late night check-in was easy. The room was large with 1 queen bed and 1 fold flat futon bed that was very comfortable, or maybe I was very tired. Lol. Cottam’s Lodge is not downtown, it’s about a half mile before you reach main office and the actual ski resort. There isn’t anything fancy about the room decor, but it’s in good condition. The only negatives would be lack of a dishwasher and only a dorm sized refrigerator.

I came back and stayed only one night. I had an early start because I did the Wheeler Peak. Love the rooms, reception desk is friendly and the location is perfect.

When we first got there, the cable wasn’t working but they sent someone right away to fix it and even sent us a bunch of movie dvds to watch! Overall, the view was beautiful! We stayed in a cabin and were warm all throughout the stay! Loved it!!!

My daughter and I stayed at Cottam's Lodge (Alpine Valley Ski Lodge) for 3 nights during our road trip to see Taos, Red River, and Angel Fire. The studio (A) was VERY CLEAN, well appointed, and had things we needed to cook our own breakfasts and light dinners, after our ventures during the day. Although there was road traffic, it was NOT all that bad. I loved the fact that we had two doors, which we could open to hear/see the rain, hear leaves/pines rustling, and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Of all our options, I consider Cottam's Lodge a great find and will definitely return.

I stayed in “C” and it was perfect for me & my husband. The location is perfect for some great hikes and the summer time is not busy during the week so we had an amazing time! Stayed a week and the employees were very kind and accommodating! Great getaway spot!

Clean, warm, quiet and cozy. At first I was a little miffed because I was under the impression I was staying at the main area near the lift and now would have to hike a bit from the parking lot to the lift, but then realized Taos provides transportation from the parking areas. So I ended up really enjoying this location dispite the very short drive back to the Taos ski area because I was the only one staying here, and it was very peaceful and quiet.

I was very comfortable staying at Cottam's Lodge and would have used more of the room's amenities except that I was skiing all day, meeting friends and eating meals out. Still, the room was very comfortable, conveniently located and peacefully quiet. I'll be back next year. There was no room service at the Lodge location, which I didn't mind at all.

Stayed in Taos Mountain Cabin on this property and loved it! Great little private cabin. 1 bedroom with a loft for the kids. Kitchen and living room area. Managed by Alpine Village Suites at Taos Ski Resort and you get access to the same perks (hot tub, parking, rental discounts, lift ticket discounts). Only a short drive to the ski resort.
