This place was the highlight of our ski trip! Perfect place to relax with a cocktail on a sunny spring day! Friendly staff, decent food and a fun ambiance! We came here every day.

Loved finally making to the Bavarian for the first time after a few visits to Taos Ski Valley! Food was excellent.

We almost always make our way to The Bavarian when we’re in Taos. Located at the Taos Ski Valley, this unique restaurant caters to the skiers as well as drive up diners. The view is spectacular. The food is very good, too. I’m always good for a schnitzel, giant soft pretzel and beer! It definitely is a fun place to go.

The Bavarian is an outstanding authentic German restaurant. The food was outstanding, the inside of the restaurant had a lodge like feel to it and was really neat. It's a little slow in Taos during the summer but the Bavarian was somewhat crowded when we had our late lunch there so you know that's a good sign if the locals like it there! Must be a madhouse during ski season.

Best spot on the mountain! The pretzel and carrot ginger soups was exactly what we needed to warm up a little and get right back on the lift! As a heads up, the line for food and drinks starts getting crazy at 10:30-11. It does not get any shorter until the lift closes at 3:50 but it moves pretty quickly!

Wow! Top of the Taos Ski valley and well worth the trip! We took the chair lift to the top and upon our return elected to have lunch at the Bavarian!!! While hugely impacted by this Covid thing they were doing their best to insure our experience was terrific!

Love the warmth and vibe here of the staff and the food. Wonderful spot to meet up with friends off the slope at Lift 4. Fun patio vibe on warm days. Packed inside during lunch hour, especially on a colder day. I like the addition of Apple Pay out front. Not a big fan of the line that forms though 🤪 ❤

Good atmosphere with friendly staffs. Interior design and decoration of the building is well match with mountain and German style pub!!

Great. The brats were good. Potato salad yummy. The coffee decent too. Loved that the staff brewed a fresh one for us and the lady attending our table was super kind.

2023 Dec-- group all agreed this was best restaurant in the resort area. Sausage sampler all good. Soup hit the spot. Poutine appetizer is HUGE and easily enough for 2. Resort prices for good quality and among best portion sizes on the mountain. Can go back to resort central area on green Rubezahl, with only one "steep" slope near the end

Bartender at a local tap house informed me that this restaurant was worth the exciting drive up the dirt road to Kachina Peak. She was right. Beautiful German Haus located at the base of Lift 4 at Taos Ski Valley.

Ordered from the bar station on the patio, picked up my beer, and by the time I was just getting seated, a very pleasant server arrived with my food. It was piping hot from the kitchen.

I ordered the Beer Bratwurst and a pint of Franzenkeiner. The brat and kraut were house made, and you could really tell. Came with a side of house made fries that were perfectly cooked. I enjoyed every bite of this meal.

The view and weather from the patio were great.

You bus your own tables on the patio, but that wasn't an issue for me.

You'll need a sturdy ride to get up that road, but it's totally worth the effort.

My husband dropped me off at the door while he parked the truck.
I was having a bad experience with altitude sickness. One of the waitresses was outside the restaurant and asked if I was ok. I explained what was happening, she was great! She said for me to sit down and was going to get me water (I had some) and she stayed with me until my husband showed up. Wished I got her name! Then she made sure we made it to our seats.

Our waiter was just as attentive to my condition and kept fresh water coming. This is a first class establishment!

Not only did the employees go above and beyond to see to my distress the food was fabulous!

Delicious and authentic food and beer! The atmosphere is unbeatable. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.

Built in 1995 the Bavarian Restaurant at Taos Ski Valley stands at 10,200 ft. elevation at base of the Kachina Basin. The food delicious, the staff is friendly, and the views are breath taking.

We loved this place! We were celebrating our engagement and both Leah and Andrew went out of their way to make sure we felt special and had an amazing time. I'll be recommending to all my friends and I hope to be back soon!

Great stop after the Bull of the Woods hike. The beer was very refreshing. We made it there at 2:50 p.m. They stop taking food orders at 3 p.m . We were there on a Sunday. They were only seating people outside. The place was full, and there was a line. The strudel was the highlight of the meal.

Hard to beat the atmosphere/setting. Food (brats, pretzel) was good. Schnitzel wasn't available when we went; as others mentioned they have apparently currently have a pared down menu and Schnitzel is only available on certain days. It's expensive for what it is ($80 for 2 x brats, 1 x pretzel, and 2 beers) which isn't surprising given the location.
