Gorgeous spot, the drive up from Tucson is magical! You round a bend with rocks and desert all around, then suddenly … boom Pine Forest. Bullfrog tadpoles were all over in Rose Canyon Lake. Found a patch of snow at the top of the mountain in early May. Never thought that would happen in Arizona.

We attended a wedding here this past weekend. The hosts, Shane and Vicki, were very accommodating and friendly. The bathrooms were well maintained. They were selling ice at the little store by the lake, which was a relief. With fire restrictions in place, make sure you bring propane grills (and possibly fire rings). Also bring shade tents, as some sites don’t have a lot. This was a lovely campground experience that we would recommend.

We camped at site 24. It was perfect. The weather was amazing. The lake was great, even though we didn’t catch anything. My only negative was that there were a ton of yellow jackets.

Rose Canyon Campground is a lovely getaway into the cool forest. Lovely vegetation and some interesting critters can be found here. Great for a night or two away from the city.
It is quite popular so if you're plan to reserve a spot for the weekend do so at least a month in advance. First come first serve spots fill up fast on the weekend too. Due to it's popularity it might be hard to get away from all of humanity, tho most fellow campers are respectful.
The facilities are limited (pit toilets and drinking water spigots) but clean and well maintained. The staff here is respectful and courteous. Great spot to camp.

Fantastic escape.

Wow, what a great campground. From Richard, the very friendly and knowledgeable host, to the scenery and being close to lots of things, it's just perfect. There were some loud campers during the weekend, but being so close to Tucson, I expected as much. Great Place.

Kind of ridiculous that they charge extra for another vehicle but the camp ground was nice. They have a storage container for your food, I froze almost to death so make sure you bring warm clothes and blanket for the night. The bathroom was close to the campsite, and it has spectacular views.

We love camping here with our family. Lots of areas to explore, well maintained, friendly staff and camp hosts. Camp sites are far enough apart for some privacy. It’s quiet except for the beautiful sounds of owls, crickets, birds and squirrels. Bathrooms are very clean and the toilet paper is great!

We had an amazing time with our Maiden Voyage camping as a family of 4 with a 3 year old and our 6 month old. The campsites were very clean and we'll set up, everything you need and more (I am looking at you standalone grill). The location is stunning, and my daughter led me right up to the ridge in about 8 min, perfect! Get out of the heat, enjoy a daily monsoon shower, and come set up camp at Rose Canyon! By the way, if you are so inclined, they stock the lake with Trout!

Just a quick stop and rest break before heading back down to Tucson from visiting Mt. Lemmon for the day. The drive into the campground and lake is beautiful. The facilities looked clean and inviting.

We stopped for 30 minutes to stretch our legs and get some snacks and drinks we packed. The camp site we used was neat and tidy. We plan on a return visit this year to camp.

Love staying here! Not only is it’s beautiful but a very clean and well kept area. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restrooms and recreational area. The camp host Vikki and Shane are very attentive and informative. We got the late and it was dark Vikki was kind enough to guide us to a free spot. They helped us get our trailer in the best position and made sure we had plenty of firewood to keep warm! Next morning they checked and us and we realized we didn’t have paper towels, Viking saved the day by giving us a roll…We appreciate the hospitality! Thank you!!

Camping at its finest.
Peaceful, quiet. Actual space between campsites. Cold at night, even in June.
Can't kayak on the lake, or swim but it's still worth the trip.
Truly amazing

This is a great park. It is full of natural beauty. The respite from AZ’s heat was such a nice break. There is hiking, fishing, camping, and day use available here. The family would love it.

One night stay over. Made a reservation and that online function worked excellent. Camp was clean and felt safe. Site 71 was close to Lake, walking distance but the actual camp was on steep incline. Wear your hiking boots. Pic is of something growing under the concrete table, anyone know what it is?
