I chose ProActive facility for my shoulder therapy, as my husband recommended. He had great results working with Andy Herstan.
The therapists Andrew Herstan was awesome. He is very knowledgeable. In addition, you can tell right away that he truly cares about your progress.
Support staff are totally professional and friendly.  The best is Andrew’s hands on therapy. I feel so much relief after each appointment with Andy.

The entire staff here is wonderful. They do a great job with therapy and teaching you the exercises needed, but also manage to keep things up tempo. PT is a lot of hard work, but they make it enjoyable. If you get to pick your PT, pick ProActive!

I am very impressed with the physical therapy I received at Proactive East!!! I had a rotator cuff shoulder injury that improved a lot over the 3 weeks I had there. The therapists and assistants are all excellent in their knowledge of muscles, tendons etc and which exercises will be the most helpful. They give great instructions on how to do the exercises so that healing can take place. They are kind and caring and fun to work with! The staff at the front desk are also helpful and wonderful! I highly recommend this comfortable facility.

I would like to share my experience about the therapists and staff at the east side location. I have gone to many other PT facilities around Tucson, I have never had such a friendly and professional group as this. They all have different specialties which make it great if you have multiple issues going on and there is no problem with you trying out the different therapists there. I would recommend any of the physical Therapists at this location to anyone in need of physical therapy. Glenna Coston

The Eastside Proactive unit is rated tops in every way in my experience with them. An excellent unit like this begins with a superb office manager (Sondra) and an excellent office staff. When needed Sondra is filling in with every position. She has managed my visiting times with my preferred therapist numerous times to my satisfaction. At 92 I am a little picky and perhaps a little unique. The office staff is courteous and obliging. I have been with the eastside Proactive unit since 2017 and was treated for two knee replacements and one lengthy session to regain my balance, strength, and posture. I loved the therapists and trainer’s methods. I positively can say that every therapist and trainer I met analyzed my needs and gave me the correct workout and I was actually looking forward to my next treatment. Because I had an interruption in my training this year my family noticed that I am not at par with the way I was during my training periods. Since my latest referral for more training, I have decided to re-enter this Eastside office after April 1st for a twice a week session. I have to admit that my family is right and I need this training again. At 92 I need to improve my mobility and agility I know just where to go, to the eastside Proactive unit. By the way they also treat many young folks of all ages

This was my first experience with Physical Therapy and I was very nervous at my first appointment but Brian Z. assured I would receive therapy that would help me - not hurt me. He was correct! I received therapy that helped my problem and now I have exercises to help me the rest of my life. I cannot say enough about Brian Z. and Joe M. and the techs that helped with my treatments and taught me to do exercises correctly. They were very personable and caring. I enjoyed getting to know them and I count them as forever friends.

Jolene is great at the front desk. She makes you feel welcome and always has a smile and time to talk with you - She makes you feel a part of the family every time you step in the front door.

I would recommend Pro Active Physical Therapy very highly and would not hesitate to return for treatment, if necessary.

From the time I hit the front desk on February 18, a week after my left knee replacement to today, April 17, I was treated with respect, friendliness, challenging exercises and some out of my comfort zone, which I needed, wonderful knee massages, good listeners and always my supporters and cheerleaders! Carolyn and Maddie are outstanding, , along with Joe and Patrick, with Kayla, Kareena and Sydney as helpers.
Alex, Jessa, and Vanessa at the front desk helped set the tone for friendliness and caring. I will not hesitate to return if further PT is needed and I cannot say enough GREAT things about ProActive. Go Team! I even received a ProActive tee shirt upon graduation today!

Several months ago my doctor sent me to ProActive Physical Therapy when I started having trouble with a pinched nerve in my neck. I was in pain constantly. I've been working mostly with Carolyn Adler. The entire team has been very helpful and friendly. It's obvious that they care about what they are doing and the people that they are helping. They've done a great job. I am now almost pain free. I'm back riding my bike again and doing all the things I used to do, all thanks to the team at ProActive.

As a veteran of the US Army, I have had more than my share of injuries and experiences with physical therapists. My experiences with ProActive and with Brian Zukowski have been nothing short of amazing! The office staff and techs are friendly, warm, funny, and professional and the therapists truly take time to get to know each patient. Having previous experiences where I only saw my physical therapist on evaluation appointments, it is amazing to be able to have hands-on time with the therapist on every visit! The staff of ProActive is attentive and ensure that exercises are done with correct form to provide the best possible results. My job as a musician and educator requires certain activities and those activities are always taken into consideration in setting goals as well as goals for fitness, athletics, and hobbies. I whole-heartedly recommend ProActive Physical Therapy to anyone looking for a personalized, professional staff of people who truly care about their patients!

I highly recommend ProActive Physical Therapy! I took the time to write this so that others will know how great they are. Compassionate, knowledgeable, prompt, personable, patient, understanding, professionalism and RESULTS. What more might one ever ask for from a physical therapy facility!

ProActive Physical Therapy on East Broadway and Camino Seco has all of the above to offer and more. This is a pristine, spacious facility in an easy to reach location on the east side of Tucson offering spectacular views of the Catalina Mountains.
From the moment you walk in, the entire staff makes you a priority during every part of your visit.

I work mainly with Lee, Physical Therapist, and an assistant Kayla. I have also had appointments with Brent, Clinical Director, PT. Each staff member brings expertise and experience to take care of each client.

I have a completely detached main rotator cuff in my right shoulder. It tore a bit at a time over a year, yet I didn’t feel the pain like usual because of neuropathy. I was scheduled for surgery immediately and was told I’d be in a brace for up to six months and need physical therapy for even longer than that. My shoulder was completely frozen, having limited movement and little strength. The injury being on my dominant arm made nearly every single thing in my life difficult, and I often required to help with even the smallest of things.

COVID has delayed my surgery indefinitely. Physical therapy was my only other option. I begrudgingly went and cried the first two times. After eight visits over a month time, I had 30% range of motion returned, up from nearly zero—in a month! After two months, my range of motion is 50%, and my strength is beginning to return. I’m functioning again, and it’s because of personalized therapy, education and the exercises that I do religiously as I am told. Don’t worry, Brent. I am bein-haved!

Thank you for all you do. And thank you for what you have done for me so far. I look forward to continuing to work with you until surgery, and then afterwards as long as it takes.

I had chronic ankle/arch issues and wasn’t able to run or play basketball for the past 4 years. I did PT for over a year (with no success) and my podiatrist even recommended I look into major reconstructive surgery. My uncle told me that ProActive helped him with his shoulder so I figured i’d give them a try.

Brent and his team right away were to able diagnose the problem and said my issues could be solved without surgery. They performed “dry needling” on my foot and within days the pain/swelling went way down. They also gave me several key exercises to do on my own.

I went in every week for 3 months and can now run and play basketball again. I couldn’t be happier with the treatment I got. If you’re having pain in an area make sure you give the “dry needling” a shot.

Just started here for a broken wrist two weeks ago. This is not my first rodeo with PT, but it's by far the best. The therapists and other staff are incredibly polite and unhurried. The therapist has answered all my questions and provided an email address should I have any questions between appointments. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. I almost hate to leave and go home.

I have lived with back pain for about 20 years. My prior attempts to resolve my issues consisted of 3 different therapists and a Doctor of Osteopathy (for manipulations). The manipulations would help alleviate the pain, but this was normally a temporary band aid as I would have to go every 3/4 months (for 10 years).
I finally got fed up and asked my doctor for another therapy referral as I wanted to do whatever it takes to resolve my issues. He referred me to ProActive Physical Therapy.

Starting with my first visit, the staff has always been friendly, helpful, and attentive my needs as a patient. The Physical Therapist assigned to tackle my back issues was Dr. Brian Zukowski. Brian took the time to listen to my problems and then patently explain to me what was causing each of my symptoms in a very detailed and understandable manner. It helped me to understand what I have been doing wrong over the past years and why things were not getting better.

The second we started treatment I could tell that this was going to be different because of the treatment plan they were administering. We focused on the basics of core strength, stretching, mechanics, and posture. Then, with the knowledge at hand for me to continue at home exercises, he would add in new
exercises/techniques to focus on specific areas. After a couple weeks of visits, Brian was able to get the pain under control and keep it under control. I, to this day, continue to go to therapy once a week to help maintain and strengthen my core so as not to let myself slack off and return to my old habits. I have since not had to return to the Doctor of Osteopathy for manipulations and feel great.

As a result of my therapy regimen, I am now more educated about the mechanics of the back and how all the muscles that we are focusing could affect/cause the issues I have had for so long. I am more aware of what I am doing, and with what feels natural, follow better mechanics for everyday activities which assist in the prevention of the recurring issues I had had for so long.

Thanks Brian and ProActive for everything you have done and continue to do.

Very friendly, personable and accommodating staff. Well run clinic that genuinely cares about the patients goals and satisfaction with each visit. Not the type of get you in and get you out within an hour to maximize profit type of place. Staff works hard to make sure patients rehabilitate to their full potential and keep up with patients even after finishing their rehabilitation to answer any questions on post rehabilitation exercises and to make sure they are still doing well. They focus on teaching proper form for workouts and making sure you know how each exercise benefits your body and helps you heal from your injury.

I personally went to other clinics in Phoenix, AZ for rehabilitation for two minor knee surgeries before I discovered Brian Zukowski and Proactive Physical therapy to help me rehabilitate from my third and fourth knee surgeries that I needed due to the previously failed rehabilitation efforts at other clinics. Brian and his staff helped me recover fully from 2 major knee procedures and now got me to the point where I am back to a normal active lifestyle which was previously elusive for two plus years. If you are looking for a clinic that promotes open dialogue between patient and staff, wants to see you achieve your personal goals and will work tirelessly to help you get there then Proactive PT is the place for you.

Have been to several physical therapists (hands, neck/shoulder) and tho all were (relatively) OK, none compared to ProActive in East Tucson. It is a delight f rom the moment you walk ini until you leave. Therapists are fabulous, front desk beyond-efficient, and the entire staff is incomparable (friendly, helpful). Do try them; you'll be glad you did.

I was at ProActive PT for about 6 months for lower back and hip pain under the care of Brian Zukowski. He was responsive, knowledgeable, thorough, and a good listener. I am back to working out to my fullest capacity and feel strong and healthy. Most importantly, I feel more informed about my own body, movement patterns, strengths, and limitations. Thanks ProActive for providing me with such high quality care!
