For anyone who enjoys history, this is a fun little stop to take you back in time to the renaissance time. Here can see armor from the different periods of time. What I really enjoyed hearing that a lot of the items at this little museum were all real from Europe with only a handful of items that are replicas. The price to get in is only $6 for adults. So if driving through Alma, Wisconsin, and you enjoy some history or even want to learn alittle. Take a stop in the Castlerock Museum!

We went for a homeschooling field trip. It was awesome. There are two stories and the first story we were with an employee who told us about an the different things and where they came from and answered questions. Down stairs is a dungeon and the kids got to try on some of the chain clothing and helmets. It was interesting and fun for the kids and adults.

From the quality of the collection to the knowledgeability of the docents in full costume, we were impressed by this museum. We were a group of 12, ages 4 to 66, and everyone found something to interest them. The best part might have been the opportunity for the kids to try on some of the armor and hold the weaponry. Very interactive. The collection spans the millennia, from Viking, Roman, and Greek artifacts through the conquistadors and beyond. It's worth noting that a handful of medieval torture instruments are included, though not prominently.

We had a great time, our tour guide was kind enough to let my husband try on his armor! 😊

This place is cool! If medieval arms and armor is of interest..there's no other place like it (around here anyway). Very impressive collection of original pieces. The facility is exceptionally clean, and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Visited during the Fire on the Shire festival. A very fun day. The museum has lots artifacts to look at, it's very well done. Would definitely visit again. The town of Alma is very cute, lots of options for food and shopping.

What a wonderful treasure! We stayed for a lecture by the founder of the museum. The story of how this museum came together is fascinating! All of the volunteers and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. It's a well laid out place, great for families with children too. They continue to add new artifacts so we'll continue to visit.

What a cool place to find in a tiny little town in western Wisconsin. If you are driving along the Mississippi it worth the time to stop and check it out.

A unique collection of a lifelong passion. The owner of the museum has been collecting this stuff since he was a little kid, and it sure is worthy of a museum. The entrance fee is very very cheap, and they accept card! The staff knows everything, and the experience is great self guided, but you will get much more out of it if a staff member guides you. Once you are downstairs near the end of your tour sometimes they will let you try on the chain mail and other garments which is pretty cool. Fun place!

My youngest probably could have stayed all day. He has a lot to talk about still and I believe he would like to go back again. The team that works here really knows their stuff and have a true passion for sharing knowledge.
