I was a student at Florida connections academy from the grades 8-12 and it was a great experience. The teachers and counselors truly care about your progress and are always there to assist. With the help of all the staff I was able to finish a whole semester early and still participate in prom and my graduation ceremony. 10/10 recommend for your child

I am so happy and satisfied with the school. It is just what we needed in our lives when we were going through hard times worked around my daughter schedule. She’s been going to them since kindergarten and she is currently going to third grade so she’s been a few years already with them And honestly, I can’t say anything negative about them. Love you get your own schedule you get to do the lessons at your time at your pace you get like lessons with the teachers you get additional help if you need it you get to turn in assignments at your time you get to Doctor and you get to plan an appointment i’m so satisfied and I’m so happy that I found the school when I did. It was a blessing in disguise she loves it. She has the freedom that many kids would love to sleep to wake up at her time and do her classes have fun and then do some homework, and I’m just happy that you guys were able to give that opportunity to my daughter too many more years

I love this school, especially because of the ease of the courses and the time to spend with my son. At first it was a little confusing, but then with the help they provide for parents it was very helpful, and the teachers always answer. We are going to second grade with my son and we are very happy.

Absolutely love this school. My son went his 7th grade year and then decided he wanted to go back to mainstream. He is now a 9th grader and I have currently enrolled him and my other son and are just waiting for third stage to be completed by the counselor. I hope it’s done before the second semester deadline 1/25/24 bc I would hate to have to make them continue with mainstream. So thank you for having such an amazing school and I am happy to be returning my kids for good!

So far we have enjoyed our home-schooling experience. This is not a school for parents to sit their elementary or middle school aged children down and expect someone else to teach them. This is a curriculum to work through with teachers as guides to make sure your child and learning team are on track. The curriculum is challenging, but worth it. We are hoping to continue with the program as our child has benefited from the support we as parents can provide and her teacher(s) give.

My son has been attending this online program for 2 years. The teachers have been excellent. The program is easy to follow for parents/ Caretakers. My son has done well in all his state testing. I am very happy with the quality of education he received. Thank you

We tried to register with flvs, but we never heard from anyone. I called and left messages. So after school already started, we then enrolled with Connections Academy recommended by my grandson's OT therapist. Yes, we had a lot of work to catch up on since we started so late, but once we caught up, it made it easier.
The curriculum is very challenging for my grandson who is in Kindergarten, but I know he is learning way more than he would in the local public schools. The teachers are very nice and helpful. All our questions are either answered virtually, through emails, or on the phone.
It's different from being in a school environment, but regardless, he is learning a lot.
I am so grateful that his teacher gives all the pointers she gives to make me being basically his home teacher less complicated and easier for him to catch on.
The only thing that is very hard for us is if one of us is ill or you have to take a day off for an emergency, the work load still piles up and you have so much to catch up on the next day.
I know we made the right choice being in Connections Academy, he is benefiting immensely and I know he is farther advanced than being in public school.

I saw a lot of negative reviews, and I thought I would share my two cents.
My 2nd grader and 9th grader attended Connections last year. I had never considered online school before. I am NOT a teacher. God Bless all our teachers! You are amazing.
The program is challenging. The workload can be intense. I felt like it was really beneficial for my kids to attend this program because it allowed us to see the areas they struggled in and provide extra guidance while also letting them move quickly through less challenging subjects.
Our experience was great. We had no trouble reaching staff, and teachers were responsive to emails, phone calls, and texts. I won't lie and say there were not frustrating days and a few tears. My 9th grader took all honors core classes. It was a very challenging schedule. I spent my fair share of time staring befuddled at a Biology book, and math somehow changed a lot.
Learning Coaches have a lot of responsibilities. You have to be willing/able to put in the work, and more importantly, your kids have to be. Please be very honest with yourself when considering if you have the time and patience to do this because you will get out of it what you put into it.
Also, my kids went to state testing. I felt it was done in a very safe manner. All health precautions were taken.

My child has been a student of FCA since it was part of the Florida Virtual School (since Kindergarten, and this year he's a fifth-grader). When FLVS and Connections parted way, we decided to keep him at Connections as we love the curriculum.

Now, I'll write what I usually tell family and friends when they ask me about our school since we love it so much. I like to give everyone a clear picture of the school and the amount of work.

This school is a virtual public school, so if you don't want your kids taking the State Assessment, this school isn't for you.

This is a virtual school, where children will see their teachers through video calls and live lessons once or twice a week. Depending on the mini-groups set up, it can be as much as three times a week. The parent, just as if you were doing your own curriculum, is the primary educator. If this doesn't sound appealing, this isn't the school for you.

There are loads of portfolios to work on and turn in weekly, depending on the grade. (The higher the grade, the more work) The workload is challenging, and you must be on top of your student so they complete all the assignments on time, so they don't fall behind. You can block schedule your classes. You can select how many Maths or English you do in a day, as long as you talk to the teacher first. The school is flexible in that way.
If being on top of your student making sure they're completing the workload isn't something you want to do or can't do because you're working from home, TRUST ME when I say this school isn't for you.

If, after all, you still think you can be Learning Coach and help your kid succeed, I can assure you this school is fantastic. As I mentioned before, this will be our sixth year with Connections since my little one started when he was in Kindergarten. The curriculum is outstanding and competitive, and the teachers are very easy to get in touch with. I've never had a problem reaching any of our teachers. You just need to be patient because your student isn't the only student that they have in class. Usually, teachers, in my experience, reply within the day or the following day.

If your student needs extra help, they have programs to help them succeed. If your student is in the Honor Roll or Gifted, they will tailor a curriculum to their needs and help them succeed.

I, for one, can't recommend this school enough. But as I said before, if you don't feel like you need to be 100% involved in your student's schooling, the school is not for you. If you're willing to work hard with your student, you'll see them succeed.

I love this online school! My son is in highschool and I wish I would have known about this school sooner. The in person public schools down here are toxic. My son was always looking over his shoulder and couldn't focus on his actual school work because of all the drama and bullying.
Since taking him out and thankfully finding this online school he has done a complete 180. I was so scared I was going to screw his life up if I took him out of public school but all it did was show us both the endless possibilities that are outside of the "normal" schooling. He wouldn't have even thought about finishing school if I hadn't found this online school. There's so much more I could say but I'll end it with a thank you.

Have all of our children attending FCA and our daughter is graduating May 2023. Our kids did well in FCA than in regular brick and mortar school.

Our son has done so well with this program. We are glad we decided to take him out of the brick and mortar and enroll him in Florida Connections Academy. He graduates at the end of the month with a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. THANKS
