Very unique, very friendly people working there. Had the Reuben and fish and chips, both were excellent. A fun place. Btw the potato soup is excellent.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time on Saturday. Food was outstanding! Probably the best meal of our mini getaway!! The decor in the bar was really cool as well! We sat outside, since it was so nice out. Our waitress was very friendly, and understanding that we needed more time to choose our food! I definitely recommend this place if you are near the area. It's a great Irish pub!!

Cool place and nice staff. Sheppard's Pie was great, and the decor makes you feel like you traveled abroad. Also the owner is very nice and the place is historic.

Must-see historic bar and restaurant with atmosphere to match. Hopefully you get the same bartender we had, the stories were wonderful!

5 stars is not enough. Seriously one of the best places I've ever eaten.
My husband and I got quite a lot of food because everything sounded delicious! We shared the Irish potato soup and Dingle Bay Dip. Both were so good we almost licked the dishes clean. I had the Shannon plate which was amazing and my husband had the Steak and Bacon pie which he said was fantastic.
Even the drinks were awesome! The bloody Mary was perfect (I'm very picky with my Bloody Marys). A little kick without being too spicy. My husband had the Great Golden Lager. I'm not a beer person at all, my husband usually gets my chaser for my Bloody's, but wow was it good! I almost got a glass myself it was so good.
The staff were just absolutely phenomenal. It was a quiet night and we were the only ones in there so the staff would come over and make conversation with us. They are easy to talk to and very down to earth. As soon as you walk in you can feel the love and passion they've put into everything about this place. It almost feels like going to someone's place to have a great home-cooked meal and connect with the people around you.
They even had trivia cards at the table which we loved because we talked and laughed with each other instead of being on our phones.
Back to the food though because I can't explain how delicious it is. The Irish Potato soup. Best. Thing. Ever. I almost went back to ask if they would fill a thermos with soup. I'm so sad I don't live closer because I would survive on food from here for the rest of my life.

We found this place by recommendation of Fountain City Motel. We wanted some good food. We found a gem. Great place. Good food. Great service. Wonderful ambiance. The owners are on-site and welcoming. Even with the variety of beers, it was hard to find one that wasn't good. (I suggest trying the flight) Our second time there and Katy remembered us and said," hello! & Welcome back!" to us. The Bangers N Mash is great. We recommend this place!

We had a delightful visit! The Lionsgate Stew and pizza were delicious. We got the butter garlic sauce - yum! The bartender, Joe, was friendly and answered all of our questions about the bar, owners, history, town, etc. The beer was great. He taught us about the Raptor program and shared his experiences in protecting local raptors. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu and to support this lovely small business. A must stop for anyone traveling through. Thank you for the great food and experience!

I am a frequent visitor to the Legendary Monarch Public House, and this year, I was able to enjoy the whole Irish experience on St. Patrick's Day. The place was packed, and yet the staff handled it with excellence throughout the evening.

I had one of the best Rueben sandwiches, a specialty dessert, along a unique Irish Old Fashioned and the obligatory Guinness on tap. The atmosphere, quality of food, and amazing staff make this an absolute must if you're anywhere nearby. It's definitely a 5-star experience!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What a gem! This place has the most amazing atmosphere, and the owner & staff are amazing. Excellent food, great beer and wine selection, and just one heck of a neat, historic place. I highly recommend it!

Low key place with a traditional authentic Irish atmosphere. Great house-brewed beers and a very diverse selection for the whiskey connoisseur like myself. Excellent pizza that is house made.

The wait staff was friendly and pleasant to talk to. The food and drinks were excellent at a fair price. Plenty of selection on the menu, they serve traditional Irish fare as well as items such as pizza. The atmosphere was relaxing and the decor was interesting and fun, I hope you like seeing dragons!

We loved the Steak and Bacon Pie. Hot, Delicious. Great comfort food. Service was attentive and friendly! We will return!

Delicious food and exceptional service in a fascinating historical building. There was so much to see here - truly, one of the best restaurants we have ever been to!

Very cool building with wonderful service and delicious food! We had the Dingle Bay Dip and The Monarch Roast Beef sandwich for lunch paired with the Prairie Moon Red and Eagle Valley Harvest Gold. I do believe I’ll be getting that dip every time we come back, as it was the highlight of my meal.

Understanding supply chain shortages, we were sad to miss out on the corned beef, but that doesn’t change my review at all. I’m very excited to come back!

Such a fun place with a very authentic Irish feel to it. Amazing food like Bangers and Mash, corned beef, Shepherd's Pie, potato stew... Everything with their mashed potatoes was delicious. Great beer and wine selection, beautiful wooden pub bar and wonderful service.

Great pizza, Irish food and friendly service. Lots of fun for our group ranging from a 10 month old to 70- something.

Stopped by for a quick beer on our way up the river road. The beer selection was good and the service was fantastic. The food looked good, although we didn't eat. It was fairly quiet when we stopped by. We had a great time talking to the barkeep and checking out the artifacts strewn about the place. It is an absolutely beautiful space. I look forward to going back and trying the food, or at least sharing another beer!

Simply the best bar in Wisconsin, possibly the entire upper Midwest. Beautiful space, great food, friendly staff. It doesn't get better.
