I’ve been coming here for years. Chicken Coop remains in the uppermost echelon of locally available fried chicken. The only place within a 20 minute radius who can even compete is Hobo’s. You have to go all the way out to the city to a place like Grace Meat + Three before you start arriving at this elite level of chicken cookery.

This was my first time at the new location. It’s nice to see these two ladies finally having some help. For years I feel like I’ve only ever seen the two of them both taking and making the orders.

The quality didn’t change at all. The new location offers the exact same, mouthwatering, fried chicken that we all grew to love and expect. 9.3/10 clucks.

I prefer the spicy breading. Doesn’t matter which part of the chicken you get. Strips or bone in. It’s all spectacular.

Genuinely my favorite local spot, I’m so happy my fiancé introduced me to this. Staff is so nice, it’s chill and quiet, god is the food good. Crispy, juicy, this is some of the best chicken I’ve had. They were closed for a few months because they were moving but now they’re back with an actual dining area, it’s a treat every time we go. Exceptionally well priced for what you get too

New! This place is amazing *they are very up front with customers that they are NOT fast food* it is quality slow-fried chicken. They cook to order and it’s worth the minimal wait.

We ordered fries, potato salad and two breasts. Under $12. So reasonable. Coop stayed busy the whole time we dined in. Clean tables, great location, very sweet servers. Order at the counter take a number to your table and be prepared to wait at least 15, if they are busy 20+ minutes.

You can order to-go over the phone, and they’ll let you know when it’s ready. They tell everyone the drive through is set up only for this reason ( call ahead) and it’s not an order at the tower and pick your food up when you drive around turn around. Order ahead of your pick up!

How did I know about this place sooner! No frills eatery with great food. We had the 3 pc regular fried chicken, fried fish, gizzards, green beans, baked mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and baked beans. It started off on a good foot as steam was coming out of the box, so you knew it was fryer to box to table.

Fried chicken was on point (we wished we ordered more). Fried fish and gizzards were also very good. The batter was crispy and well seasoned, enough you could go with or without condiments. Sides were also great. Nothing fancy. Just simple and good.

Very delicious chicken at a very delicious price. I highly recommend the lunch special. Super happy to have a family owned restaurant back in the area.

My new go to spot for lunch considering I can get a full meal for just over $10. That immediately beats all competition in the area since you can hardly eat at a fast food joint for that price anymore.

They do recommend calling ahead because the orders are not cooked until received. Which also means no "hot lamp chicken".

I've read through quite a few of the lower reviews and it looks like they had some problems 2-5 years ago.

I work across the street from their new location and observed absolutely nothing even remotely similar to the 1&2 star comments.

I would give em another chance if I were you.

This was my first time there. I used the drive up window. ( this drive up window is for pre ordered food. They are not fast food). My experience was great. From the person at the drive up to the flavor of the food. It is hard to find a good catfish nowadays. The catfish was perfect. You won’t need sauce with this catfish, the breading had the perfect flavor. My daughter had the chicken and she was impressed. The portions were larger than I expected. I will definitely be back.

Nice clean friendly staff. I ordered 3 piece fried chicken with fries and coleslaw. It was brought out hot & fresh. The chicken was fried well and was ok with hot sauce. It could have been seasoned more. My son had the chicken tenders & fries. He thought it was ok. The food is reasonably priced and cooked to order. It’s a nice environment to dine in. Although it didn’t really suit my taste I would still recommend it because you may like it.

Just do it! If you haven’t tried this place YOU REALLY HAVE TO. We saw it driving by read reviews & figured why not. By far the best value & fried chicken I have had outside of New Orleans. We got the chicken tenders & the special. BUT SERIOUSLY STOP & try it out!

Wonderful food, took 40 mins but was worth the wait the staff was kind and threw in a handful of extra dips, pretty decently priced and honestly I plan on eating here again. The tenders were juicy and seasoned really well. Recommended to all really good local restaurant

So yummy and worth the wait! Everything was really fresh and the chicken was so juicy! I recommend calling ahead to order but we didn’t mind waiting!

The owners are super nice and service is great! I ordered a two piece (dark) with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese. The chicken was super crispy and juicy! Mac was delicious! I will definitely be back.

Food was made fresh to order, which is a big plus. We got the 10 pc chicken with mashed potato/gravy & green bean. Good southern meal. I highly recommend trying them.

Food was worth the wait. Got the wings and tenders, both very tasty. Tenders were juicy and parmesan garlic was very flavorful. Will definitely go back.

Food is cooked to order and delicious. Chicken pieces on the smaller size but I feel you get you moneys worth. Staff has always been very nice to us.

This chicken is great.. and yeah you wait but then call ahead and it's hot fresh when you get it!!! No cold fries here folks.

In new location, dine in is available. Food is as good as ever. Found it was just as easy to go and wait, since there is inside seating as calling ahead.

The Chicken Coop is kind of hidden due to poor signage, but you find it, it’s worth the search. Reasonable pricing and delicious food. Best of all you are supporting small business in our community. You will have to wait because the food isn’t kept warm under a heat lamp. It is cooked to order so you know it is hot and fresh made just for you.
