Sophie's Café-Bistro

Such a precious cafe 5 minutes off the highway! We stopped in to grab coffee and are so glad we did. We ordered an iced mango latte and iced caramel macchiato and both are very good! Staff was friendly and decor was very homey. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a breakfast or lunch spot!

Cute cafe tucked away. Stopped on our way back from the beach. My husband got the roast beef sandwich (pictured) and I got the Berri’s delight veg sandwich (eaten before could be pictured). Fun decor and good food. Would definitely stop again. The cookies and sweet breads were calling my name.

The menu is filled with a variety of classics and updated classics (like chicken salad made with local pecans!)--so many great choices!

The servers were happy and friendly, and obviously know the locals. I felt welcome at Sophie's Cafe-Bistro.

It's an old-time sandwich shop feel (aqua tables at the booths) with a display of antique toasters and radios and such, as well as comfy sofas and stocked library shelves for those who want to relax with a cup of coffee and a good book.

My partner decided to surprise me with a trip to Sophie's as a part of my birthday celebration (I love trying quaint, hometown style restaurants). We ordered the Wolfpack and the gyro to eat while there and quiche to take home and try later. Each dish was PHENOMENAL. I was impressed with the flavor and freshness. This hidden gem is a MUST TRY rather you are local, traveling or like me, a foodie chasing all the goodies!

The historical artifacts were quite interesting and gave the place a nostalgic feel, we will surely be visiting again!

I eat here at least once a week. I love their homemade quiche's, their fresh salads, and I love their sandwiches. I have never gotten something that I could not eat. Staff is friendly, and when I call my order in for pick up it is always ready within 10 minutes. I will always recommend this place as a great healthy place to eat.

Happy to find this cute little coffee shop on our way to surf city beach. One of the best lattes I’ve had! Also had a sample of their zucchini bread and it was super good! Will definitely stop in here in the future and hopefully try their food! The young man at the register was super nice (loved his accent as well) and the young woman who made our drinks walked the drinks over to me on the other side of the restaurant (I was looking at all the relics) instead of yelling our name across the restaurant. Wonderful service. I can’t wait to visit again!

What an amazing spot in Whiteville! I’d visit Whiteville just to get breakfast at Sophie’s and lunch across the street at the Chef and the Frog and then head to Wilmington!

Amazing! Been coming through Whiteville for over 10 years 4-5 times a year....how did I miss this!! I'll be stopping here from now on! Only open till 3pm but by far one of the best sandwich shops I've eaten at. Meats are amazing! Not a standard deli subway or jersey mikes meat....fresh new York style sliced meat! Amazing and broccoli salad very yummy! Prices are great and size of sandwich is huge. Hope they are around for another 10 years!

I have discovered a hidden gem at Sophie's Cafe-bistro in downtown Whiteville, NC. Their sandwiches rivals anything you'll ever get at those big chain store's. I continue to explore their menu and each sandwich delivers on it's unique flavor with roast beef, spciy bacon, chicken salad, I'm telling you you will not go wrong.my favorite is the JMM but the Wolfpack is a close contender. You owe it to yourself to give this quaint little sandwich shop in downtown Whiteville, NC a try, I promise you won't be disappointed.

I went in for breakfast. Got the egg and avocado toast. Also had coffee.

Personable waitress/cashier. Pleasantly accomadated my request for hwc (heavy whipping cream) instead of regular creamer.

Food and coffee were good.

Music playing. Comfortable (large) booths. Hung out and drank another cup of coffee.

Will definitely come back.

Great food I’ve never had bad meal here.

First time coming here for lunch and the place was super clean. The girls working the counter were friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing and so was my iced coffee! I will definitely recommend and be back with my family this time!

Delightful little shop my friend and I happened upon while shopping in this small town! Sandwiches were delicious! The atmosphere as well as employees were friendly and inviting!! We haven't stopped talking about it yet! Will definitely be going back! Just wished we lived closer!!

The Rainy Sunny was delicious, some of the best chicken salad I've ever had. The Woman that checked me out was also awesome, very welcoming and great personality. Not sure what her name was but you guys better hold on to her, she was awesome. Will be back to try more things for sure.

Local Favorite ❤ I absolutely adore this place! Great food and wonderful service. They offer the ONLY decent gyro in town, not to mention they have an amazing chicken salad. If you find yourself in Whiteville definitely check out Sophie's.

Phenomenal cafe! We were just looking for coffee and stumbled across this little gem. Coffee was delish, but the chicken salad on croissant was THE BEST I've ever had! My mother in law loved the egg & avacado on toast! Staff was super awesome!!! We will return!

Great little place for delicious sandwiches. Usually have the Reuben, which is very well done, but opted for the "Brooklyn" this time, which is a Bagel with Smoked salmon & cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onions. May turn out to be my new Fave!

Always consistent and delicious food along with friendly staff. Tried different sandwiches and never disappointed. Ingredients are well put together and each one complements one another. Thanks for serving tasty fares with smiley faces.
