Love this store. The owner finds the coolest things. Great prices and variety. Ordered an item to send to my uncle up north. Arrived, quick and great condition.

Full of lost treasures and I was really happy to find out how low the prices were compared to some of the other surplus stores. The owner Tim was very helpful even helping me find what size I needed!

Went and got my son another body bag sac for his trip. I thought the price was great! Only $20 and it looked like it was never used. Plus I was running behind and it was an emergency, when I called,the guy actually said he would stay a little late until I got there. Awesome store!

Old Grouch's Military Surplus gets 5 Star because A few years ago in 2013, I was in there with a teacher for Pisgah high school trying to find a job, and Old Grouch's Military Surplus let me sample the job for 30 minutes or so. Didn't get the Job because it's a family business but at least I got too sample for a while but while I was doing the Sample for a while. I can tell they been doing it for a very long time an everyone in Canton to my knowledge Loves his Store.

So don't hate on Old Grouch's Military Surplus, If they Mess up on your order it's not there fault its the Shipping just remember that.

Bought Online 3 Diff. BDU's after 2022 Thanksgiving on Sale and i received them in 10 days. I have ZERO complaints and the Quality IS FINE. i will take the SFC Rank off though. this pfc aint enlisted

Good selection of used and new uniforms. Also a variety of military accessories.

Had an issue my order. Called Tim at Old Grouch and there was a back order issue because they were out of stock on one of my items. Tim was very apologetic about the order being skipped and sent the order out immediately with priority mail service. If you have an issue with your order just call the guy between his working hours and he will do anything to help you out. Really good guy.

The only place I could get replicas of my brothers Air Force badges, medals, and have his dog tags remade, so I can put his talk ones in a case. Love this store!

I love this place and it’s inventory. The gentleman working here was friendly, smart, and even helped me date my m1 helmet. Unlike most military surplus stores that I have been to, the helmets were actually on sale. There’s a high amount of things to buy, the quality is great, and the prices are great.

Always a scheduled stop, for me, when I'm near Clyde. Last trip picked up several things from my want list... In and out in only a few minutes.

I ordered 4 WWII 1/4" US helmet nets via the online store and received them within a week of ordering. The nets were in excellent condition and as exactly as described. I will admit that I was hesitant about ordering online at first, due to previous reviews, but after reading the new 2020 mission statement in their blog post I decided to give them a chance. It was worth it. I had a great experience and will be ordering again.

I've been to this store and they deserve a higher Google rating. I've bought lots of stuff here and it's always been high quality at a fair price. They have always treated me very good.

Have nice and friendly staff that is ready to greet you at the door like they have known you all their lives. They have very good prices on everything in the store. I have shopped at other army surplus store's like this one and they are ridiculously high on their prices but old grouch has low prices.

Very unique store they have a little bit of everything and has that nostalgic milsurp smell :p prices are fair especially their body armor med kits and knives if ypur ever in haywood county check these guys out they are right across the street from "the big gun" and the gun shop.

Real military surplus, a real surplus store atmosphere, and a staff that knows what they are talking about. I have been shopping here for a long time and can't say enough good things. From when I was in ROTC, then when I joined the National Guard, and now when I just want warm stuff for the farm.

One thing I really love is that they will tell you if something is junk if it really is, or they will tell you that something really isn't good for what you need. More than once they have saved me from buying the wrong thing, even if it meant telling me to go buy from another store instead of theirs to get the right kind of stuff. That kind of honesty is rare.

If you're interested in military surplus, clothes, packs, bedding, canteens, shoes and just about anything else, you need to go visit his store. This guy knows what he is doing, and if it's not on the shelf, he has the resources to get what you need. Go for a visit, you won't regret it!!!!

Been coming here for camping, and bushcraft gear for all my life, even before me my uncle was coming here! Great place and great people :)
