Sunset Restaurant

We've always loved this place and have been making a point to come eat here for years. I'm never disappointed! Very popular restaurant. Good old down-home cooking. My husband's all-time favorite meal to get here is the cheeseburger. Mine is the Tuesday or Thursday Thanksgiving plate special! Although one day we went on a Wednesday and the special was the country style steak and that was so tender and delicious! The pecan pie was probably the best I've ever had. Cash only, but there is an ATM on site. Very clean, nice people and children friendly.

This was such a cosy restaurant, it felt like eating a home cooked meal at your family's table. You have beautiful quotes and scripture on the walls which spoke life into me unexpectedly when I visited. Lastly the service was lovely, such good folk here serving from start to end caring for us out of towners.

Nice southern style hometown place to eat. I had the Thursday lunch special which was 8 bucks and change. It was great with meatloaf
mashed potatoes and turnip greens as my sides. I had a little mashed potatoes and gravy with each bite of the meatloaf just the way I like it and boy was it good. The sweet tea was good and not overly sweetened. Desert was warm apple pie which was just a tart and vanilla ice cream. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. They don’t take credit cards but an ATM is onsite and personal checks with ID are excepted but that may be for locals only. Oh, and the service was awesome and so very friendly.

The food was fantastic... the only reason I gave them a 4, is I like real butter and they only have " whipped spread " (vegetable oil)

Amazing service! Amazing food! Amazing atmosphere! Come get a hot old fashioned southern breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If they had 6 stars I would give them 6 stars. Truly a staple diner here in Franklin NC. You ain’t doing it right if you ain’t eatin here.

Friendly staff, the fried chicken takes 20 minutes because they make it right then and there. The lasagna was tasty for the price, and given it was the daily special it came put warm and quick.

Delicious food, family friendly atmosphere. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend stopping here. We stopped in for lunch, but the breakfast and dinner menu looked really good as well. We all left happy. Excellent food quality. Tip: cash or check only are acceptable payments, but they do have an ATM.

Lovely Biscuits egg and bacon and cheese

Walking through the door everything says family owned. You get it's all about hospitality & good food! And affordable! Veggies tasted fresh picked out of the garden and the hamburgers were juicy!

Fast friendly service, clean and the food was great. I had two scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy and a side of sausage. My daughter had the French toast with bacon. We couldn't finish it all. Had to get a doggy bag. You definitely get your monies worth, not that their expensive in the first place. The only negative thing I can say about Sunset is that they don't except cards.

Considering I have lived here in Franklin for years....and have never been till now! Loved it. First off make sure you have cash! Secondly, the service was as good as it gets. Plenty of seating. Pleasant atmosphere. No public WiFi. The food was great. The eggs were perfect as I ordered. Came out very quickly. Portions were plenty enough that I could bring home half. Coffee was good as well. Looking forward to going again. Well worth it. Thank you for the great experience!

We loved it! Great hometown atmosphere and food. A real gem of Americana that's rare to find in today's plastic world. Highly recommended for those who appreciate traditional heartland cuisine.

I meant to write this review 4 months ago when I visited Sunset. My friend and I were out on our motorcycles, and my friend got a flat rear tire. We were by chance right outside Sunset Restaurant without knowing it. We went in at about 2pm and the staff, although finished with the lunchtime rush, made us feel welcome. We ordered and ate good food, freshly cooked and very nicely prepared and served. The owner and other members of the public in the restaurant were knowledgeable about motorcycle tire places and phoned up to see if the mechanic was open. He was open, we got the tire fixed, and everything turned out well.
It is this type of friendly and helpful staff and good old fashioned food that will ensure that I will revisit Sunset again the next time I am in Franklin.

that locals go to. The food is great and the homemade pies are amazing! It is cash only but they do have a ATM inside if you need it. Very friendly staff also.

They just don't make food like they use to anymore unless you go to Sunset. The burgers are old school and you can tell are made fresh daily. Cool old school vibe, setting, food, etc. A really awesome place to eat.

Nice little place out near a neighborhood away from town. Serving breakfast lunch and dinner you can get a good meat and two or just a simple hamburger. Second time I've eaten here and the food is good it's Tuesday night and everybody else around me had the turkey dressing in two sides and it really looked like a good plate of food. If you're looking for some good solid home cooking type food this is a place for you. Cash only and I believe there is an ATM on site.
