Second State Coffee

My first time at this location and it was such a treat! Super cute spot inside with a lot of different options for seating. I love the variety of food and drinks. The iced chai was so good and the sweet barista even asked me my milk preference (I always forget to ask), that was above and beyond for me. Thank you so much! I even sat outside for a little bit. Overall great experience and would love to come back when I’m in the area!

This place has the beans, best tasting coffee in town. I’ve come in with a long line and it has moved quickly, a couple days ago there was only one person working with a lot going on and they were still very cool not showing any frustration. I also work at a coffee shop and can’t say I would’ve been as calm. A ton of indoor and outdoor seating, gender neutral bathrooms, nice spot for a coffee date.

Great local coffee place. The customer service is great. The staff was very welcoming and acknowledged everyone as soon as you walk in the door. The coffee and food are amazing. The set up of the inside is very nice and flows well. It's definitely a hidden gem in Mt Pleasant. I'll definitely be back especially because it's so close to my office and I like the coffee😁

The Huevos Rancheros was delicious! The service is equally good. There was a misunderstanding with my order and the staff not only replaced it, they also offered to give a refund. The lavender latte tasted nice too.

Perfect, Mount Pleasant atmosphere, but I would love a little bit of shabbiness. The food was delicious, the coffee was sublime & next time I need to kill a little time before an appointment, I'll go there again!

My favorite coffee place in Mount Pleasant! I sat here and studied for a while. Latte was perfect and there are plenty of food options. I would definitely suggest better wifi since it is the perfect spot to study! I had to use my hotspot which is no big deal but I could see how it might bother some!

Update to reply: I don't consider choice of sweetener "small detail" when your primary product is $5 coffee.

What Coffee shop doesn't have Splenda? This one. Only Stevia, yuk. I find it has an aftertaste. Ruined my skinny latte.

I gave them 5 stars for the Breakfast Bowl with an over easy egg and delicious, generous lox toast. Lots of crunchy salty capers.

If the lack of Splenda is a cost cutting measure, I'd rather have less capers and a packet of Splenda.

We like this place. It offers outdoor seating which is great for us and our dogs specially after enjoying the morning sroll at the beach. Coffees are great. Not a big menu but enough selection for everyone. Staff are friendly. Overall, the place has a pretty good atmosphere.

I had second state for the first time and will absolutely go back many times. The coffee was yummy and the atmosphere was great for a meeting. Would recommend!!

Come for the coffee, stay for the COOKIES. I’m quite sure the cookies have browned butter which is a no brainer why they are incredible. This is an excellent spot for a study/work nook. I get the feeling this is tucked away enough from the mainstream that you could quickly become a regular. Really good space and seating, relaxing outdoor vibe. There was no background music which was super weird to me but would be great for peaceful work space. Lattes (had mocha and a regular) were delicious and hot. I’ve seen a lot of comments here about staff attitudes and the young woman who prepped our drinks was very friendly and pleasant! I think their little owl logo is absolutely adorbs, so there’s that 😂 enjoy!

Rockin meal. Had the Lox toast for breakfast. Delicious bread, pickled onion, capers, cream cheese and smoked salmon that will melt in your mouth.

The cold brew is SERIOUS here…. I didn’t get anything special. Cold brew with half and half, but it’s the strongest cold brew I’ve had. Really recommend if you like strong, dark blends. Can’t say anything about their food or other drinks, but the atmosphere is nice.

Cozy cafe with comfortable chairs but not too many outlets. Not many places have lavender flavoring for coffee so I really enjoyed that they have the option here. The breakfast bowl is fantastic and decently priced. Kinda small on the inside feeling a little cramped and a bit loud so bring noise cancelling earbuds. Outside seating is peaceful with no traffic at all and little distractions. The customer service was impeccable !!! The front of house baristas seem to enjoy their jobs and their positive attitudes made me smile (: love that its local too.

I've never tried their food. I absolutely love their coffee.

Every time I travel I have to try ALL the coffee shops. I was in Mt. Pleasant for a week and went here 6 of those 7 days. Good coffee, good matcha, good smoothies, good brownies, good staff, good aesthetic. The barista even jumped into our photo for us!

Great place. In Mt. Pleasant we had breakfast there twice. Staff were very professional and courteous. Ignore the bad reviews. Some people just like to complain.

Good coffee, interesting selections of beans, and now baking their own bagels in-house!
