A hidden gem on Danforth. Staff and management are always extremely friendly and helpful. This theater is wheelchair friendly and they have a family bathroom in addition to a large men's and women's restroom that is clean. Regarding concession items, the popcorn and drinks come with unlimited refills and that includes icee drinks (cherry, coke, blue raspberry). They offer gourmet pretzel sticks, Nachos, hotdogs, dippin dots, Bluebell ice cream and multiple types of candy. The only con is that the popcorn paper bags leak butter on the bottom. Seats are comfortable and recline. My wife and I never have an issue with seeing the bottom of the movie screen and we have sat in different spots in different sized theater rooms at this location. Between each seat is a small retractable privacy wall that is located between the shoulder and head section of the seats. There are also small table tops for each seat to hold food and come with a single cup holder.
They also offer $5 Tuesday's which is for any movie any time of the day. Every Monday senior tickets are $5. And last but not least they offer a military discount on movie tickets. My wife appreciates that we are able to preorder our tickets online and get to pick exactly where we sit.
We highly recommend Kickingbird Cinema and greatly enjoy that it has never been crazy busy when we visit.

This is an older movie theater, but it's also a little cheaper. The concessions were reasonable, popcorn was hot and buttery, and server's friendly. They were showing the movies we wanted to see and they weren't super busy. We went to the big, brand new theater and it was sold out 4 hours before the movie started. Their parking lot was jammed full as well. We truly enjoyed Kickingbird, and recommend it to anyone who wants fewer crowds and lower prices.

Please re open! With covid being on the endemic I think you'll get the business you need! This place is great and I've been going to it for 25 years.. I was so sad to see it closed as I'm ready to take my daughter there like my dad took me. Edmond having it's own movie theater was amazing.

I have been going to this theater since I was a small child. It's great to me because it's right in the middle of Edmond and I don't have to drive out to the mall and fight those crowds. No stadium seating here but they run all of the same new releases and there is always plenty of good seating. The counter is always ran by local students and they have a great manager. You can also come in and buy a large bag of popcorn to go and they put in a LARGE plastic bag. You get way more than what would be in a normal large bag.

What a great locally owned theater. Lots of choices in movies and showtimes. Popcorn deal was amazing; If only you could pay for a refill on drink. The seats were good and the theater sizes were appropriate! Sound and screen were perfect! Thanks for having us!

Nice established theater that has seemingly been here forever. We used to go there and were happy it’s still there after we moved back to the area. We like the location and that it’s not always as crowded as Penn Square Mall. Pricing of movie tickets seems standard too, though I don’t keep up with the price much.

I've gone to the movies here for over 20 years and it's still the cleanest, both in the theaters and the restrooms. The employees are always friendly and willing to serve you right away. You can tell they really love their jobs. "GREAT JOB" to the management team, I know it's not easy to work with "First Job" young adults.

Love the convenience of having a movie theater right in town. Ticket prices are also a bit lower than having to go to the mall. Definitely the convenience of being able to walk straight in from the parking lot is a major Plus. They always have a great selection of first-run movies and our family enjoys being able have a local place to go.

Employees r friendly, prices r reasonable, theatre is clean. Nice option if u live close by or if u r trying to catch something that has already left other theatres. Not nearly as crowded as bigger theatres. Kids meal with small drink, popcorn, and fruit snack was only $4.25.

Ive been going to this theater since i was 5 years old or so. I absolutely love it. Great price nice staff and safe for the entire family. They have police officers there on occasion to reassure people that nothing bad will happen there. I highly suggest this theater to everyone.

Great local theater. Wish the screens were a bit bigger or the seating wasn't so weirdly organized. Other than that, I've been there at least 10 times on my own and will keep going.

Every single time I go to this theatre, it gets better every time. It's really nice that Edmond has a small movie theatre that has affordable prices, has a great location close to everything, reasonable prices for snacks and drinks and friendly staff. As long as I'm living in Edmond, I will always consider Kickingbird Cinema to be my top choice for movie going.

You can always find a seat in this theater and you don't have big mall crowds. There is a circle drive right up to the door. No IMAX, good sound system, clean, North East side of Edmond. For us, easy to get to and several restaurants to choose from after or before the show.

Went and saw the new transformers movie, prices are fair, because the quality of the experience is higher than your average cinema. Comfy seats mixed with good sound and average snacks + no annoying kids on their phones due to attentive staff = a good movie going experience.

While some would call inside decor "dated", I found it more nostogic of theaters from early 1980s (this is a good thing!) There's in pride of ownership & prices are fair. Very clean location. Staff is friendly & really seem to enjoy working here.

Our family favorite. The incredibly friendly staff and reasonable prices more than compensate for the dated infrastructure. "Newest" is not always "best." Bang for the buck, it's the best there is.

A delightful place to enjoy a movie, especially for families. Nell & Janelle (managers) are fun, outgoing people who make it a point to see that you have a good time while you are there. And they succeed!

Nice, quiet and small. We enjoy going to this theater often. It's not crowded and you don't feel crammed in. Always a good place for a date.

Love that there is a local theatre. Has more reasonable prices than amc. Clean facility. Chairs are slightly uncomfortable, but I can deal with it. Staff is nice. Has way better popcorn as well, and have dr. Pepper!!!

The sticky floors, small uncomfortable seating and aged decor really bring me back to my earlier years. Kickingbird will always hold a special place in the heart of Edmonites, but we definitelt wouldn't mind a bit of a remodel 😉
