Hillsboro Hardware and Repair Shop

My husband and I love Hillsboro Hardware. They have everything - even the random around the house stuff that it feels like no one else has. Staff are super helpful and know where everything is. It's just a great place!

I respect someone who is not only passionate about what they do but willing to help those less knowledgable. This is the first place I go when I'm working on a home improvement project and realize I need extra tools, hardware, or advice. They are solid, reliable, and I leave feeling more informed. That's a rare experience. One that does not go un-appreciated.

Staff always promptly greets and seems genuinely happy to help, unlike some big box hardware stores. Staff is knowledgeable about seemingly everything. There is so much more stuff fit inside this building than you'd think at first glance as you drive up. I've gone here for power tools, garden stuff, and getting garden tools sharpened. No waiting in long lines and no waiting 20 minutes just to get help. I find it less overwhelming than big box stores and much more pleasant. It's well organized which makes for easy shopping. Prices are good too. I love this place.

The folks at Hillsboro Hardware were excellent to deal with! Another lighting company referred me to Hillsboro Hardware for lamp repair. They communicated clearly, took great care of my vintage lamp, said it could be up to two weeks for repair and had it back to me within a few days, within the price range they originally quoted. They've earned a returning customer in me! Highly recommend!

This is one of those labyrinthine old hardware stores where every nook is chock full of useful things & every employee is essentially some subclass of wizard. They spent half an hour fixing my niece's glasses for free. Kind people, cool place.

Everybody has use for a simple hardware store nearby that spares you the crosstown drive and endless wandering in a colosseum hardware store. The folks are friendly and helpful, prices reasonable for inner city convenience, and they do things like sharpen axes and mower blades that the big stores won't, classic.

HH is the best neighborhood hardware store. The staff are excellent and helpful. Several times Kyle has helped me find exactly what I needed and given some great advice about my project too. Love this place. A big blue or orange box store can't beat this place in service and value added. Plus it's a 3 minute drive from my house.

They were able to quickly fix 2 halogen lamps at a very reasonable cost. True wizardry as they were written off by other repair places.

They did an excellent job of replacing the handles on my sentimental garden tools my grandfather gifted me many Christmases ago. Staff is always very nice and helpful.

Went into the store with a stripped skate stopper. I tried every other option to get it out but nothing worked. Going in the store, I was not hopeful whatsoever because nobody else had a solution and told me to just buy new ones. I want to sincerely thank Duane and Kyle. I saw the passion and excitement they had when this challenge was presented. They didn't turn me away, they told me they would try. They did more then try! They fixed my skate without damaging it or adding more complications to it and im so grateful. 10/10 recommend! they love what they do and it shows. Thank you gentleman! You have honed your craft and it shows in your workmanship!

Hillsboro Hardware has a large inventory of hardware, garden, and home products, including screws, bolts, washers, etc. None of the pre-packaged stuff you so often see. But most helpful is the staff. The people that work there are friendly, always helpful, and knowledgeable. My #1 choice.

I always have great luck at Hillsboro Hardware store. Recently, I needed an odd size lightbulb. The young man that helped me find it was lightning fast, like he was expecting me when I arrived! I know when I shop there I am in and out in a flash! Wish all stores had service this good! Efficient ++

Outstanding service. They will search inventory even for the smallest odd screw. Overall inventory is broad and deep. Sound advice. Patronize this place over the big box stores. It represents the best of the "good ole days."
