The Rudder

After teaching Real Estate and showing property I stopped in at The Rudder in Hendersonville on the Marina to meet Irena, her husband, my husband and Katrina for a early dinner and business meeting. Great food, oysters, chicken wings, shrimp, ahi tuna, Nashville Hot Chicken Salad and chocolate lava cake. 😋 😋 😋.

The Rudder is wonderful restaurant and tropical themed bar that my wife and I have loved for years. Nestled on Old Hickory Lake, this unique restaurant offers a refreshing change of scenery that transports you to a coastal oasis. The food never fail to impress, and the service is consistently exceptional. It's the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a long day or on weekends. Furthermore, we admire the owners' dedication to supporting our community and local charities, such as the Humane Society of Sumner County. The Rudder truly embodies the essence of fine dining with a touch of philanthropy, making it a standout gem in the heart of our community.

Great time today at the Rudder! Fern was a Fantastic server! He took good care of us and made sure our special requests were taken care of! Beautiful day at a beautiful place! Always a good time there. Food was great too!

Our experience was wonderful, and we plan on returning. We enjoyed the outside view while watching Sunday football. The service and food was great!

We always have a good time at The Rudder. They have good prices on beverages, better than some of the other spots in Hendersonville. Happy hour is solid for house and well options. The on the water feel is always fun. Food is good, we come for the atmosphere. I would say the food is a 3 of 5, but the overall experience is always good. We live nearby and always enjoy coming here, both during the season and off season.

The One-eyed Jack! Possibly the best bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg that I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere. Very nice and friendly staff. Matthew was our waiter and he was amazing. He made some great recommendations on food and was very prompt and professional. We will be back for sure!

Everything was great and it's dog friendly! The live band was also so good!!

Had a good meal here the other night, friendly staff & some great live music. A great view from our table as well.

My favorite restaurant from our vacation!
The blackened Mahi was delicious and perfectly flaky. The salad was so fresh and delicious. The rudder relaxer drink was so yummy. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The kids got to feed the fish off the railing with Cheerios and had the best time doing so. The view of the marina was beautiful and the live music was a great touch.

AWESOME! This place is a great restaurant. The servers are the best. Atmosphere of the marina is great. Lots of TV's for the sports fans. Large place with lots of dining areas. Indoor and outdoor dining. Our go-to place. Food is delicious. Don't forget to end with a Bushwacker! Wednesday triva is the best in Hendersonville PERIOD!

Macy was a wonderful bar tender! Very attentive and friendly. Staff were great. The blackened catfish tacos were good and I highly recommend the cheese curds with spicy ranch 🫶
Very laid back atmosphere. I look forward to coming back in the spring and summer!

This place is always a great time! We can take our boat over and be there in 10 mins. Bella also loves it and the staff always makes sure she has water and a seat ❤ We visit the marina and the restaurant often while on the lake since it’s so convenient and have never been disappointed ❤

We enjoyed our dinner at The Rudder very much! Service was a little slow but the food was amazing.

The rudder is a great place to go along the marina. The food and atmosphere are great. I was surprised how big it is and that the whole back side opens to the lake. And they give you cheerios to feed the turtles and fish. Make sure you try the cotton candy cheesecake.

Wonderful location great food super service. I would recommend The Rudder to friends and family. They're fried catfish is the best. The fried pickles can feed a family of four. And don't forget the mac and cheese it is fantastic.

Decent little place on the water for a nice lunch. We sat inside bc it was a little chilly but sitting outside to eat is definitely preferred. Service was great and price isn’t too bad!

I was lucky enough to enjoy a beautiful evening outside. Food was fresh, service was attentive, music was a bit loud, but overall, a great experience. Will be back many times over the summer!!

Great food!! Haven’t been here in a while but I will say I’ve been missing out. The food was so amazing today, our service was over the top. It was a busy day there but the food came out fast, hot, and correct.

The whole experience was enjoyable. The atmosphere was nice. We sat on the back deck on the lake. 3 full service bars. We ordered the bang bang shrimp for the table, and they were excellent. I ordered the Texan burger, and my partner ordered the Mahi Mahi burger. The French fries were crispy and delicious. The burgers were awesome.
