Skip the larger chain-type guitar store in Chico because they lack quality and their overhead music it too loud. (I couldn't hear myself testing a guitar because the chain store was blasting acid rock). The Music Connection will have what you want and better quality than the other stores. The Music Connection experience in demoing is far superior. Both Music Connections stores (Redding and Chico) worked together and had the perfect guitar that I was searching for. Great little music shop. I went in looking for a 25 or 50 foot XLR cable and they had both. The employees weren't constantly asking me if I needed help they let me walk around and check everything out. The secondary room with their fairly large selection of acoustics and keyboards was a pleasant surprise. It was a wide ranging selection from less expensive to VERY expensive. This shop even had some synths...which I wasn't expecting. I bought a handful of picks and a foot stand to top things off.

If it wasn't for the little kid running around banging the drums like an idiot and strumming nearly every guitar while screaming it would have been great. His mother was oblivious to the fact that other people were in the store I guess. I know it's fun to watch your kids pretend to play guitar but cmon...it's just not cool. But that wasn't the stores fault.

Great spot for music essentials...they even had items on Consignment too!!

Go check them out if you haven't. You won't be disappointed.unless that kid is there with his mother...then...you're gonna have a bad time. 😂

Been a musician for 14+ years and have known of this place. Honestly has a great atmosphere and good selection of guitars and basses. This shop and the one in Chico are fantastic. Bought my Kc-550 180w Amp for almost $400 off original price online. Great products, and great service

Awesome local music store! Super helpful staff, and good inventory! A wonderful place to go if you're looking to get a new instrument, or just try something out. I'd highly recommend you support it. Especially as more and more quality music stores go out of business in Redding.

I go to music connection because it has a large red instruments to try out and even though they're the only game in town when it comes to music and buying my musical supplies I do have the option of going Amazon but I like to see what I'm getting and I like the personal approach and they have it there at music connection of bechelli Lane Redding California

Went in the other day to get some ukulele strings. The lady at the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back!

This is the best music store in the Redding Area. I arrived early the morning of my visit, maybe 10 minutes early and while I was waiting Bernie opened the store early just so I could wander in.

I talked to Bernie who was the best person I think I could of talked too. I told him I had a budget and he showed me numerous guitars, then showed me good starter Amps and while I wasn't able to afford everything that day, I wasn't pressured into buying anything but his knowledge definitely helped me and I will always go back here if I need help.

I checked nearly every music store in Redding for an electric guitar and this was the only store that encouraged me to play the guitars and to even plug it in an amp (most places you have to ask to even touch a guitar, and most wouldn't let me plug it into an amp). When I made my selection the lady rang me up and found the guitar was actually priced about $30 dollars more than listed, but then she called the manager and asked to sell it at the (cheaper) listed price. Definitely the friendliest music store in Redding as they happily answered all of my questions. If you want to play it before you buy, or are just starting to play, you need to come here.

The only place in Redding that carries digital pianos - and a great collection for pianists or aspiring pianists to try out at that. I headed to this store with a particular model in mind. Thank goodness Sally (the piano expert here) was there to point me in a better direction - one that was more suitable for my needs as a proficient pianist. I came out of the store with a model that is so much better than the one I had in mind, so I didn't waste money on something less appropriate for myself. All the staff members here go out of their way to help you and set you up with the very best equipment. Fantastic prices too!

The workers are very very easy going and helpful, the prices are always really nice. every time i go in there i am presently suprised to find out the item i was looking for was way cheeper then most other shops in town. Also help with alot of questions i had and even helped fix my violin for free when i took it in. 10/10

I was blown away by how amazing the prices were for a mic stand. I had been searching everywhere and not wanting to go through amazon and for $25 what I got, i could resell for $60-$100 on amazon. The stabd us sturdy, heavy duty, and metal pretty much all the way.
I couldnt have found a better deal ANYWHERE.
