I would recommend it to be very open and friendly with everyone don't come in with negativity only positive vibes here I highly recommend the Dusk Till Dawn drink if you want something dangerously sweet to drink service is kind of slow but it's understandable it gets busy in there bring your patience with you but it's nice here and they also have events as well 🤭

Richard's goat is a little......... diffrent. Goth nights, poetry slams film showings, and a Thursday karaoke night make for some entertaining times. Great vibe. Classy, clean, laid back environment. Wonderful little theater room that doubles as a karaoke room on Sunday nights. Bar tenders are on it and are all friendly. No jocks and no cocks.

A great, charming bar and venue where I always feel super safe and can have fun. You can dress up cute and not feel weird but I also feel fine in a hoody. It's good for a low key hangout like a movie or board game, a date night, or dancing/ karaoke with a group. Sometimes when it's busy you have to be patient, but who is in a rush for a fancy cocktail or tea? The Goat is great!

My favorite bar in Arcata if I'm looking to go out and have fun on a weekend! Lots of great events at the multiplex (attached venue) and seems generally hip and queer friendly compared to other bars 🌈

Great food! I always love having tea here if I am the DD, and their mixed drinks are great when I am not. Miniplex is super cool, I don't get to hang out here enough. Love it and very popular with the college crowd! The location is also nice, a little out of the way but walkable from Plaza. Distance makes for a better experience in my opinion, overall. Very worth checking out if you like unusual and unique bars. Quirky and queer friendly space!

Great bar with a unique feel! They have an amazing tea and non alcoholic selection as well and great food. I recommend the Mac and cheese! There is also a movie theater that plays unique films. This bar is a great place to just hang out.

Delicious cocktails, great beers, cider, and kombucha on tap. The food selections (including gluten-free options) are always YUM but they don't have a full kitchen so they do run out of stuff. Keep an eye on their theater calendar because they get some really amazing bands that you may never have heard of but will DEFINITELY be glad you went to see! Also showing the latest indie and foreign films. Their karaoke (Sundays, usually) is off the hook (won Best in the county!) and the bar itself is pretty chill so you could totally take your parents or have a nice date here.

Best place to hang out in Arcata for a chill and fun night that doesn't get too rowdy. It's a blessed break from the insanity of Bar Row. Awesome bartenders (Alicia, Gina, Leo, Ian), great cocktails, good food, and a super friendly doorman (Toby) who works to keep everyone safe.

Come for the supportive Sunday night karaoke crowd, or salsa on Wednesdays, or the quirky indie films in the early weekday evenings, or the shows that happen quite frequently on Fridays and Saturdays.

The clientele is a fun mix of eclectic regulars who are chatting, drawing, writing, and reading at the bar, small friend groups, and seasonal trimmigrants. People are generally friendly if you want to meet folks, but there are also booth-like tables if you'd prefer a more private experience for your group.

We walked there from the town square. It was an easy trek but not the most scenic. We needed a place to relax and maybe play a board game. If a funky hangout with good drinks is what you enjoy this is your place.

Fun venue, always have events happening. good selection of quality drinks and the Mac n cheese is delightful!!

Leo and Ian were ROCKSTARS.
I came to Richard's Goat for the first time for karaoke. Leo was by himself bartending, with over 100 people (closer to 200 by the end of night) in the bar. A few college kids came up and demanded an 8-ingredient cocktail, which they then recommended to their friends. 🙄 Leo, though visibly stressed, made the drinks with care. Ian, who joined him behind the bar later, after a no-show coworker was confirmed, was equally as efficient, and their teamwork across the bar was astounding. As a server, I was blown away at the attitudes and accurate service everyone received, while maintaining a supremely busy college bar. Kudos to these guys, for sure!

Nice selection of rotating taps, also liquor and food but I didn't have any. Really nice staff and they have local and touring musicians pretty often. They even have tea service. Pretty cool hip place to have an evening.

Our first date a few years ago. We don't drink anymore, but it's still fun. They have mocktails!

Fun looking hip little bar. I went for a movie. It was a small, funky theater. The place has a very cool, laid back vibe and the people who work there were friendly.

The drinks are great. My favorite is Pan's Labyrinth with Jalapeño Tequila. Cumbia Nights is the night for me. No better work out than dancing all night to Celia Cruz, Selena or Celcio Piña.

This always a great spot to stop for drinks, tapas, and a well curated selection of films in the Miniplex. It's a stylish and relaxed atmosphere, with a friendly and professional staff.

It was great had an awesome time... A lot great singing there! And the non-alchoholic drinks were great as well as the macaroni and cheese!!! This place is first - rate I highly recommend it!!!
