El Chipotle Mexican & American Food

After a long drive from the San Jose Area, we stumbled upon this gem for some late night eats. There is good outdoor/patio seating with heat lamps. The menu is diverse and the prices are reasonable especially given the portion sizes. The staff was great and very accommodating as we sat near closing time. The food was good and we had a dog with us, so the seating is also dog friendly. I would recommend checking this spot out.

Delicious food, good portions, fast, great service, different environment, their horchata is favorite one in North Humboldt. I went one time and they had a private show going on and I got to experience a Ska Mariachi band. That was definitely a highlight. We still talk about it

Delicious and authentic Mexican food. I had the huarraches with cactus, and it was very good. They have a number of unusual dishes that you don't often see outside Mexico, and it was a very nice surprise. Portions are large and the service is friendly.

Fantastic food, great service, Cheery, Clean and comfortable atmosphere.. Very pleasant! Highly recommend a stop here for a delicious meal.

First time going, staff was super nice, food came out super quickly, I was excited to see shredded beef on the menu. The quesadilla was super good, and the cake was not too sweet and but a little dense, but still really good. Prices arent bad either.

I really love this place. I tried something new, Pambozos, a torta sandwich dipped in some type of chile sauce, stuffed with tinga and all the regulars fixings. It was absolutely wonderful.

The service was a bit slow, but understandably. Our party of 10 was one of five birthday parties at dinner! So, with that considered, they did well.

Oddly, they have a 15% gratuity policy for parties of 8 or more, yet actually charge 18%. I tip 20%+, so it didn't affect my budget. But, come on. Say what you do and do what you say.

Amazing Mexico City style huaraches and maiz quesadillas. Also they have my favorite tortas and sopes in Humboldt. I've only ordered takeout/delivery so far but have been impressed by the quality and portion sizes. Definitely my new go-to!

As a SoCal resident, this is the best Mexican food I’ve had in Humboldt County. Food was authentic and made fresh. I would recommend this to anyone craving Mexican food.

My kid knocked over a drink right when our food arrived. The waiter didn't miss a beat he was 15 seconds into clearing up the mess and asking if he could get us anything else. Another guy stepped in to assist with the cleanup. This place has got service down!
After the mess we made was quickly cleaned up, we get to the food and it is great. Best Chile Verde Ever. Everything else was just awesome.

We were eager to have some great Mexican food on a road trip south down the PCH and found El Chipotle based on Google reviews. I had the Burrito ala Mole, which was everything I hoped for. The serving size was generous and the mole sauce was rich and delicious (see photo). For dessert, I recommend the tres lèche over the flan, hands down. The tres lèche was delectable and a perfect finisher to a great meal. We started with house margaritas, which were good but ordered Cadillac margaritas for our second round and both were excellent. I would eat here again if I ever have occasion to pass through Arcata in the future.

We ate here twice in two days. All the dishes served were delicious (as rated by our group of four).
The chile verde burrito I had on my second visit was the best, imho. The meat was tender and flavorful, the perfect amount of spice, and no noticeable fat, very lean.
There is an extensive menu, very helpful and courteous staff and a cozy and welcoming environment.

What a great menu! So many choices. We enjoyed a delicious mole meal and the Huarache. Both perfectly done. Excellent salsa and good chips. The place was really busy (the locals know how good it is!) but had no problem seating us, checking on us and not a long wait for the food. Lively, but not loud. A nice mix of clientele, young folks on dates or hanging out, older folks sharing a good meal. TVs in a corner to keep an eye on the game but not overwhelming. A small but well stocked bar with a good vibe. If you're traveling, get off 101 and check it out. Great prices, too!

First time experience- I was blown away by how good the food was- new favorite restaurant by far.

El Chipotle can be considered a hidden treasure! The combo platter of pork tamale, beef and cheese enchiladas was awesome! A hot and mild salsa are served in separate containers. The salsa meets my expectations too, and I typically can say “good salsa, good food”. This works at El Chipotle also. The interior is a bit small, but I appreciate the cleanliness.

the tamales are 5 dollars and so delicious. Moist, great portion, and filled with meat. the tamale is not spicy to me, but my mother is very terrible at handling spice, and i know shed find it spicy. I'd compare it to a jalapeño. 10/10. My roommate got the burrito and loved it.

Well priced for the portion sizes. I HIGHLY reccommend the grande maiz quesadilla with chipotle potatos, its so so good.

Ok, we ate at Fiesta Grill on Saturday and Sunday we ate here ... and Kevin, who waited on us at Fiesta Grill , waited on us here as well!! He's an amazing worker and he remembered us!!
We sat outside with our little dogs. There's was a cute family next to us too. He was working hard.
My boyfriend had a burrito and got super full. I had the shrimp fajitas and man those were filling!! Kevin did an amazing job and we left so happy to have such a great experience!!
