Thunderbird Lodge

This is a great stop for us, halfway between SoCal and Seattle! The location is convenient, parking is easy, breakfast is appreciated, and since we are often moving my son to/from college, I appreciate that I can park my car right by my room. We had 3 bikes, so really appreciated the first floor room. I absolutely LOVE their in-room amenities-the toiletries are the BEST!!!! Bed is reasonably comfy, and we slept well. We’ll be back whenever we visit!

We arrived late after having to deal with a flat tire. Jose checked us and the dog in quick and easy and got us a great room. He also helped me find numbers to tire-shops that could help us with repairs on a Sunday. Room and breakfast area was clean and tidy. Will book again if we need to lodge nearby again

Great place to stay!! Courteous and considerate management, clean rooms, nice firm beds (the way I like 'em)! Great central location, too, with plenty to walk to in the area. Sundial bridge was only 5 min drive away

Great spot right in the heart of things. Clean, comfortable rooms and pet friendly, which is a big plus. Staff were very welcoming. Highly recommend.

Clean, safe, friendly, affordable. The person at the front desk was very friendly and fast (good after a long drive all day). When we booked on a booking site a couple hours ahead of time, we asked for a ground floor. He called us within 10 mins to say the ground floor was sold out and offered and refund if that was an issue; I've never had a hotel manager preemptively call to accommodate me, wow.

The rooms were well updated and clean. The beds were comfortable, and the property was really quiet despite being nearly sold out. There was a faint train horn in the distance, so I assume the windows have pretty good sound protection.

We were able to park right in front of our door.

The breakfast started at 7am and was filling. Pancakes, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs.

They have a small pool that looked nice, but we got in too late to try it.

Overall, highly recommend.

Excellent room. I love these older places because almost all of them have a bathroom window to let fresh air in. Both the front and back windows of my room here had screens and could be opened a crack for fresh air.

Best place I've stayed. So clean. We felt very safe as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. In middle of all kinds of shopping and food. Great place to stay, very welcoming. Comfortable beds, great TV and air conditioning was exceptional considering we're from the coast. We will definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone that's is going to Redding. Thank you!

Hotel is exactly what you would expect for a 2 star hotel, it gets the job done. Parking was great, there was a comp breakfast but get there early as things will run out. What amazed me was the staff. I only stayed one night and had to leave in a rush and forgot my crocks, I called on the road and the staff were great at shipping me my belongings, which I of course covered, and they arrived today (3 days later). Solid stay! Great people!

Great little place. Reminded me of an old school hotel. Great places to eat literally around the corner. Gentleman at the front desk, (I can't remember his name Jose? [Sorry] - he's the manager) great attitude! Thanks for the laughs. Plus, gave an excellent dinner recommendation (Maxwell's)

Great place if you’re traveling with a dog. Room was big enough (with our big dog) and clean. Pool was a good extra since it was really hot. Breakfast was simple but good.

I work for multiple resort and spa hotels across the country, don't let the 3 star reviews fool you... 3 stars is great for the price and type of hotel you get at Thunderbird, in fact... for the price, I'd give this place an A+.

We were on a road trip and a budget, this place is perfect if you need to catch up on some ZZZZzzzzs.

The real star is the service. I'm not sure if Jose at the Front Desk is the GM, but he should be, cause he acts like an owner, and treated me and my family like we were kings and queens.

I'll stay here again in a heart beat... the property was clean, and the service went above and beyond. Always ask for Jose, this guy is the reason I've taken time out of my day to share a review. He truly is what the hospitality or most industries are lacking today, honest and open customer service. 100%

Absolutely the perfect stay! The motel grounds and rooms are immaculate, you can see the family takes great pride! We had such a great night sleep and appreciated grabbing a quick breakfast before we hit the road. The front desk offered great directions on how to get to the biking trails, and I was able to get an evening and morning ride in. We appreciate your hospitality and will stop back on our way home!

The custoner service was top notch. Helpful and friendly. The location is perfect. Any food you want is just a few steps away. Its obviously an older property but has been updated making the rooms very clean and comfortable. Great stay at this place

Front desk check In was so easy. They send you texts to confirm your stay. Gentleman up front very nice and professional.. the room was so cute. A little dated, but clean and comfortable. I liked the fact that the non smoking room didn’t smell like smoke. No weird smells or stains. Air conditioning worked well! Breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel stay. Clean, quiet and slept great since the bed was so comfy. They responded quickly to any needs.

This place is awesome, I highly recommend it for any occasion. i’ve stayed at the thunder bird a few times now and have never been disappointed. The cleanliness is outstanding, Employees are beyond kind & helpful. The only thing I could say negative is I was on the side of the hotel near the road this time & it was a bit noisy at times.. that’s not something they can fix or i’m sure they would in an instant. Super convenient & close to everything. 10/10

Checked in with Jose. He was great explained everything from where to take my dog to local eateries. Even got him to run off some transient vagrants. He saw my wife looking for the ice machine, ran over and got her bucket and brought it to our room. Management should clone him. Good young man. I would stay again if in the area.

Very clean, nicely refurbished old school mom and pop hotel. Good location, some noise but not bad. Good internet and breakfast; some non-dairy milk options would have been even better.
