Surfside Burger Shack

Got the mushroom Swiss burger and fries. Both were excellent, and I was glad to see they offer gluten free buns. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and it wasn’t too greasy or anything. The food comes out quickly, which is nice if you’re hangry. The service was super friendly and I love that it’s a local spot and not just oriented toward tourists, but when I was first visiting eureka as a tourist before moving here, this was the place I ate (under different owners at that time). Thanks for a great meal!

Loved it! The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The burger I had was delicious! It was a perfect little stop. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We ate inside because it was a little chilly outside. There are restrooms inside too. Great place to eat!!

The birria fries special and consume were FIRE and the Chorizo burger is triple bomb bomb bomb dot com. Yeah that’s right, I took a bite out of the Chorizo burger immediately then took the photo. Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm!

I like spicy food and there are a few spicy burgers. I had the Southwest Swell that has jalapeño and pepper jack cheese and avocado, so very good. I plan to go back for the Habanero burger. I got to try the habanero jam , it's so tasty, looking forward to it.

Great burger! Staff is friendly and burgers are big. Try the spiral fries. It is a big helping and can be shared by at least three people.

Cool little spot, love all the metal art hanging from the ceiling, good burgers, I always hit it when I'm in Eureka. Also I highly recommend looking for the commercial on YouTube, so cheesy in the best way!

This was legit one of the best burgers I have ever had. I had the half pound Animal - because you are what you eat - it was f'n 🔥
I wish I had not gotten something with Jalapeños, just to give an opportunity for the grass fed beef to shine. I ordered it well done. Steaks are for rare and burgers are for well.

I had a small fry to go with it. They were very good as well, but I didn't come for the fries.

I didn't wait too long, but it was during opening hour at 1100 so I can't attest to wait times during busier hours.

Next opportunity I get I will order the most basic burger with avocado added just to get a realistic head to head battle of the burgers. This trounced all fast food burgers hands down, in-n-out included. Also smacked up all of the resteraunt burgers I have ever had.

A true gem for what could be considered American cuisine, although I do believe the burger is a German machination; Hamburg, Germany to be specific. Who cares about Germany though? They aren't known for their burgers only for terrible humor and spear heading world wars. 🤣

Best fries. My husband goes there every other week with his buddies. Very friendly staff.

Delicious burgers!!! Must have changed hands since 2004 my picture was on the wall for their burger challenge they had. Either way half pound Animal almost couldn’t finish the large fries for 3 dollars more!!!!

My husband and I stopped here right before the Eureka Friday night market and it was worth it. We've been traveling all over California and I can confidently say this is one of the few stores where you're paying California prices but getting a generous amount of food. To be fair on their prices, their beef is local so I couldn't be mad about that. There was a young guy who served us and went above and beyond with his customer service, always checking in to make sure we had everything even with other customers coming to order. If you're just traveling through Eureka like us, it's worth a stop to support this great local business. Their carne asada fries were tasty!

You can buy the guys art from the wall, and eat the best burger you've ever had. The fries are perfect fresh and get Hella crunchy in a good way as they cool.

Awesome food the burgers were on point the deep fried mushrooms we boss! The staff was friendly and attentive the restaurant was clean. The surf boards on the wall are really cool to look at. All around best experience for my first time in Eureka! Thank you Surfside Burger Shack 🔥

I had a cheeseburger and a chocolate milkshake and onion ring - absolutely amazing I ate everything .
My boyfriend got a jalapeno burger he ate every last bite lol and fries.
The little one got a cheeseburger cheese lettuce and pickles - she did not finish her meal she said it was spicy . We tasted it and it had a hint of taco seasoning.....maybe that's what she thought was spicy ? Either way I loved everything and then there was Jenga as well !! We only played two rounds before the food was out :-)
