Rita's Margaritas & Mexican Grill

One of my favorite mexican places in arcata. I love their salsa, red enchiladas/ wet burritos. The service is pretty great too. There is outdoor seating which is nice. The bar area seems to not be present idk if that’s because of covid or because the staff needs the space. Pretty quick service too depending on when you get there

I loved this place because it had everything I expected from a family Mexican restaurant. The food was exactly what I expect for the price. I ordered the chicken tinga enchiladas with rice and beans and it was great. The atmosphere was wonderful, they even had a patio but we didn't sit out there because it was too cold that evening. It's the kind of place where the patrons are friends with the staff, so the service was a little slow which is my preference with dining but I understand that a lot of people prefer to be in and out in a hurry. Overall, not bad food for the price.

The food is amazing! Short waits and quick service, the one "issue" is the portain is huge, I'll eating this for days! The taste is fabulous, with great sauces and flavor pallets. The food is clearly well made with a large variety of dishes and ingredients to choose from Including a large veg/vegan menu. While the music is slightly loud, but otherwise it's a great restaurant! Great prices too!

Rita has always been good to me. Her son too and he makes a pretty good salsa. Strong house margaritas, and they will make fresh chips if you ask. Taco Tuesdays is 2 for $5. It is a good, honest mexician restaurant that will leave you satisfied without having to celebrate the day of the dead with your pocketbook.

I haven't been here often but the times I have been have been awesome. I got their tub sized margarita one time. The food is also great. Very delicious and good portion size.

BEST place for real, vegetarian Mexican food. The prices are unbeatable and the margaritas are amazing!

Had a dinner here with two friends while working, took us a minute to find the olla e for some
Reason but after we sat down I had a tasty vegan burrito that was way bigger than my forearm. I could only eat 1/3 of it cuz I wasn’t that hungry, had a michelada too. I took the burrito back to the hotel and it sat in my fridge for two days then I ate it last night and I think maybe it got mouldy or something cuz I had a stomach ache afterwards. 5/5 stars. Thanks for vegan options

This quaint little place is located on the Southwest side of the town square. Just ask anybody for Rita's and they will point it out to you. On a Tuesday, this was the only place in town opened after 8:00 P.M. Thank God for taco Tuesday.
The place was packed including the patio area where some music was playing on a speaker. Everyone from the wait staff, to the servers, and bartenders were very attentive.
The soft tacos 🌮 were generously proportioned and seasoned. There's over 15 different choices on the taco Tuesday menu including vegetarian options. Let's just say there's something on the menu to cater to every pallette.

Don't forget the margaritas. We ended up with a pitcher made with 1800 tequila. It was the perfect combination of salt, sugar, lime, and tequila.
Keep an eye out for Ed, the owner. So if you're ever in Arcata, make sure to stop by Rita and enjoy a Margarita 🍹... especially on Taco Tuesday. Enjoy!

The best selection of vegan Mexican food I've found in Humboldt. I love the tofu chorizo and the potatoes with chipotle peppers for my tacos, and they make the best micheladas on the north coast!

Great local place! No frills but the food was amazing. Huge portions and well priced. It was a Friday night when we went so service was kind of slow, but too be expected on a busy night. Try the Baja fish tacos!

Loved this place! They have adobada style meat which is not common in all parts of Mexico so it's not available at many Mexican restaurants. The super burrito was delicious. I got the chipotle sauce which was spicy but had excellent flavor. I really enjoyed the margarita as well. It was strong which was great but that could have just been my specific bartender.

Chrishten is a young man who is delightful and the only reason I go there because of his kindness!! The food is really good too

My wife and I were visiting from Stockton. We really enjoyed the food. I had the mole covered burrito my wife had the fajitas and we both had the black raspberry margaritas and everything tasted excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Good food and plentiful portions. I had the Baja Tacos, three fried fish tacos. It was good and I'd eat them again.

I normally buy tacos from here. They are amazing, my go to place. Tonight we tried a different place, worst taco in 5 years. It made me appreciate you more. Such good tacos.

YES! A real menu, massive amounts of food, everything richly flavored. It's so good you feel like you need to pay more than they charge. P.s. try the Margaritas! Yum yum yum
