Met Mr. J yesterday and was very impressed. I decided to tell him about my Jamaican restaurant that I am opening on February 6 and he encouraged me to put one of my flyers on his door which I did. I decided to tell my coworker about my experience with Mr. J and she decided that she would buy lunch for us today... we bought the Gooney Goo Goo (hope I spelled that correctly ) and it was wonderful...thank you Mr. J

Baked beans are to die for!! Awesome BBQ!!! BBQ potatoes were fabulous and the service was fast and really friendly. We had Country pork ribs and Tri-tip. Both were juicy, mouth-watering good with two kinds of sauce that would be great fun to just eat!😊

This food is good 👍🏾. I can say it is one of the best I had in a long time. Great portions with awesome service and you can't beat the price. Go check it out for some Goooood BBQ!

Definitely all time favorite places too stop in an get a BBQ style 😋 yummy but warn very addictive

Stopped on our way through town. 100% worth it and I'll make a point of stopping next time I pass through. The ribs and tri-tip were fantastic, the BBQ potato is not to be missed, and the Caesar salad was a perfect balance to the sweet & vinegary sauce. But the best part was the baked beans... I usually am not a fan, but I would come back for the beans! Also, no gluten in the sauces or rub, so safe for those of us who are sensitive.

Excellent food and always great service. Catering is great also. They offer some of the best BBQ in town, slow cooked and well-seasoned. Buy some of their sauces to take home as well. Mike and Jim (and the rest of the family) always have great food that is fresh and filling!

Edit: Went in today during lunch time and had an awesome pulled pork sandwich with the best fries around! Wish I could get in more often!

Authentic BBQ, super fresh home made slaw and other sides. Tender ribs and great service. The garlic fries are the real deal and not for beginners!!

This place is a Gem not easy to find a place like this. Highly recommend the garlic butter toasted bread.

Great place. Love the combo with 3 pork ribs and 2 sides for around $14. The sauce is sweet and tangy, the ribs fall off the bone, and the baked beans are addictive. Tried the Caesar salad and it is fresh, cold, crisp, and delicious. Very friendly staff.

Very fast service and a very good food.

The wife and I love this place. We found ourselves eating here almost 5 times a week, when we moved to Redding not to long ago.
Amazing people and wonderful food. My wife has a serious pork allergy and Big Boss makes sure everything is perfect before leaving the restaurant, when we do our mobile orders.

I ALWAYS tell my traveling friends to enjoy Fat Daddy's when they are traveling through Redding for work.

Fat Daddy's is the best BBQ place I've found in Shasta county, so far. The prices are very decent, the food was pretty good, service was.. Alright. The man wasn't very enthusiastic, he seemed like he didn't want to be there, which I understand. Everyone has bad days. The guy was helpful and made me laugh. The rest of the staff seemed like they were having a good time, wich is always good.
I liked the place, I will go back.
If you have a craving for bbq and don't have time to do it yourself, this is the place to go. Prices are fair, food is good, everything seems to be made from scratch, and the portions are pretty big. (I mean the place is called Fat Daddy's so it lives up to its name)

This is the hole in the wall smoke house you've been looking for.
It has no ambience, unless you count all the dollar bills people have stuck to the walls over the years. They are stained brown with years of smoke imbued into them. They stand testament to the daily ritual of smoked ribs and chicken that come from the kitchen.
I took a chance on Fat Daddy's on Lake Day. Bunch of friends out on a boat. I ordered the 10 peice chicken and 2 racks of ribs.
I picked them up from a crew who looked like they'd been there since 4 am smoking the meat.
And the meat! Perfectly fall-off-the -bone chicken, excellent smoke flavor without being overpowering, and the chicken was still moist, a neat trick after cooking something for hours. The ribs pulled freely from the bone without disintegrating into mush, the sweet spot between super tender and just enough chew to be fun. Again, well smoked but still subtle enough to taste the actual pork.
Finally, the sauce itself: full flavored, bold but not rude, allowing the meat to shine through. It coated the meat with a thin glaze, not a gloppy goo that sticks like mayonnaise.
These people NAILED it.
Highly recommended.

Good BBQ. I had the pulled pork sandwich it was good. My husband had the ribs and thought they were just okay he prefers a drier rub. The other people in our party had the ribs and thought they were devine. I didn't care much for the baked beans. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. The place was quaint.

Great Food!!! Service is Awesome as well!!! I had their pulled pork BBQ Sandwich there. It was delicious. I've been here before many times so I definitely will be coming back. Their beans and potatoe salad are good; and I'm picky about my potatoe salad.

They make the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. I'm from Texas and love pulled pork so I've had A LOT of pulled pork to compare it to. The coleslaw was also really good, no sugar and low mayonnaise. Wish we lived in Redding and could come back.
