This Ace Hardware location is the larger of two in the area. Employees have been great when I lived in Denver, CO. until 2019 when I moved to Minnesota. The store itself is older, but has some historical charm to it and unless you're in your 60s would understand what I mean.

Staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.

I thought I was going to have to replace a mortise lock (a very expensive proposition), but I brought in all the components and confirmed it was still functional and in need of threadlock to keep the set screw from turning. A pleasant 30 minutes of trouble shooting saved upwards of $400. I keep coming back because of this kind of service.

Simple and easy place to pick up tools. You can actually ask questions that the employees will have answers for. Good store nice people.

Great selection and wonderful staff to find what items you need

I seldom post good, bad, or indifferent reviews online. But everyone at this Ace Hardware has been so nice and helpful that I feel I need to sing their praises. I’ve learned how to fix so many things from just asking for a part or asking how to do something. If I get the wrong part or something I don’t need they let me return it (unused, of course). They don’t always have what I’m looking for but they are the first place I go to look. Such great friendly customer service that’s hard to find these days.

Greg in the auto key-making department is now officially my go-to man when I need automobile keys made and programmed. He is friendly, knowledgeable and always gets it done right. As always, thanks Greg.

I had to get a chainsaw chain and ended up going first to Home Depot because they said they'd have it with 24 hours. When it didn't show two days later and there was nobody to talk to about the status, I canceled the order and called Ace Hardware at University Hills. They had it in stock. I talked to Scottie and Shauna, and they asked all the right questions, so came over and picked up the chain. Another time I waited in line at Batteries and Bulbs for 10 minutes before I left and went to Ace Hardware. As I walked in the door a gentleman asked how he could help. He took me right to the bulbs I needed, and I was in and out of the store in like six minutes. The fact that they have knowledgeable, friendly people ready to help you make s huge difference - to me anyway. I saw some of the bad reviews, and have to say that COVID-19 has changed how we all operate, and at times it has been difficult, but I've been going to Ace Hardware U Hills for years, and their friendly, knowledgeable team is one of the best around when you need to get the job done.

Great location with excellent customer service. Clean, organised and easy to find products.

WoW - Ray was an incredible help. My music binder was coming apart and needed some hardware to fix. There wasn’t the exact right nut/bolt combination to fix it, and Ray had an even better idea (I don’t even know what you call the tiny bit of hardware he chose). He just didn’t give up until he made sure it worked for me.

From other reviews, it sounds like there are many helpful people at this Ace. Can confirm, the general tone was wonderful.

I was asked by each and every employee if I needed help to find what I need, employees helped me get off a stuck, stripped screw- very happy, especially since the Ace closer to my house shut down - will be coming here from now on !

Ace Hardware keeping it simple for life's yucky problems. I was asked if I needed help when I was looking around and I was treated to a friendly efficient checkout. Perfect visit and I didn't have to walk through 900 aisles to find what I wanted. 😉

I thought they closed on 8pm, so to my horror when it was 5:50pm Saturday evening and I realized they closed in 10 minutes I jumped in my car and dashed to the store. I got there a minute or two before they closed and as a former retail employee I profusely apologized. However, with no regard to the time Duncan helped me quickly assured me that everything was ok. He led me to my pickup order and before I knew it I was out the door. Him and the other employees were so lovely and amazing to me considering my fault in the situation. As a young woman who loves building and construction it’s frustrating going into hardware stores only to be ignored or treated poorly. My experience at this Ace was anything but that so you have gained a new loyal customer. I don’t care if this price is better elsewhere or if it’s more convenient to go to bigger chains. This is my new hardware store!

I came in with a broken patio umbrella pole. Ray went through what was to me an amazing thinking process to make it function again!! He spent a lot of time. I am so grateful.

This is a really nice, really big store with a variety of products

This Ace is perhaps one of the best in the state! The staff is very knowledgeable, kind, and diligent. I appreciated all the help I received during my visit, and the "above and beyond" attitude from the staff.

Normally I am not a big fan of Ace hardware but this shop has made me a believer! A great store with even greater people! 😁

The greeter here is fantastic!!! He precisely follows state, local and federal regulations regarding propane tanks being carried indoors! He is also great and making sure the people make a trip through the register line to exist rather than going through and open entry door. This is exactly what I’m looking for in a hardware store !!!

The best ace around. Helpful people, good inventory, easy to find your way around. Plus there’s a model train downstairs that my kids love to go look at. Prices are a little high but worth going here instead of the big box stores.
