I highly recommend going to True Value Hardware on Colfax.

The have a great inventory of different tools, house hold items, and their customer service is great! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

They have a glass & screen replacement service, as well as a wood cutting service in the back of the store too. They've helped me with numerous projects and are very cost-effective. For a few glass projects, I've told them what sizes I needed & for what purpose. They made recommendations about what type of glass I should get (tempered vs. regular, and what thickness). If it's tempered, they'll order the custom size for you and you can pick it up in ~1week. If it's regular, they will cut it in-store and you can pick it up same-day. For my wood projects, I've bought wood there or brought-in my own wood, told them the sized I needed, and they've cut it for me.

Their prices are usually lower than most hardware stores. I highly recommend True Value Hardware on Colfax!

P.S. I included pictures of a project they helped me with! I took two old wood doors and installed replacement glass inserts into each door. Unfortunately, the glass inserts were too narrow and so I had to have wood "filler" pieces cut to fill-in any gaps. The project required very small and particular cuts of wood. The shop had the right tools and knowledge to help me get the project done! Thank you!

I've been going to this True Value over 30 years. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to do business with. I live in the house that's 70 years old. This True value is the only place I'm able to find parts that work with fixtures and what not in my home.

Great bunch of people working here. Will be coming here if I need any help for my mountain bike again. They were extremely helpful and went out of their way to get my bike in order. Highly suggest this shop.

That was the first time going to this store, the staff was very polite and friendly and helpful. The store was very neat and clean and organized. They have a lot of stuff in there to. The prices are lower then Ace Hardware, not that I will not stop going to Ace. Just saying, I will be going to True Value again. The lady who checked us out, came over and talked with us and told her this was our first time there. I would recommend True Value to friends and family!

Very nice local hardware store - walking distance from Park Hill and Mayfair. Good selection of small products. There is a bike shop upstairs to get parts and service for two-wheelers! The person in the back by the key machine is super helpful.
Management might consider training some of the young help - they mean well but are not very helpful ;-)

I love this location, I went in the other day looking for a replacement bulb for my lava lamp, and BAM! a Clayton Atwood an employee there helped me instantly, it was far better then going to Home Depot, where you have to engage with 5 employees to find and get one item. So much love to this location.

This place is great! The people here are so nice and helpful. They opened the door for me when I took my bike in to get the tube fixed and fixed right then and there! The second time I went in I came for some bulbs and other stuff and they helped me find everything I need- even let me bring my bike in since I forgot my bike lock. They didn't have the bulbs I needed but said they could order them on line. They took time looking info up for me and were very helpful. Great to have a reliable family hardware store in the neighborhood like I did back in my home town.

So we've been going here for 20+ years and I have to say, I enjoy the neighborhood hardware store experience. I know True Value is a national chain, but something is different here than at the big box stores like Ace down the street. A quick example: I stopped in today looking for a very specific electrical cord which I knew they probably wouldn't have. They didn't, however, the gentleman at the front said he thought he might have one upstairs. He left, found the cord and it fit. Then he didn't even charge me anything. I have to say, that is just good old fashioned customer service. Thanks guys! Keep up the good work! We will certainly be back!!!

Largest inventory? No. Absolute lowest prices? No. Genuine, old-fashioned hardware store, right in town? Yup. Friendly and knowledgeable? Yup. Where I got my first, 10-speed bike, back in 1966? Yup. Couldn't live without the place, which I still think of as Ross Hardware! Recommended.

Great selection for some home improvement things. They have the best selection of adhesive hooks I have EVER seen, as well as a ton of kitchen supplies. I bought a vintage lightbulb here, these are tricky to find, for an exposed lamp fixture. Can't wait to check out their bike repair section!

This hardware store has been a treasure of Montclair Neighborhood for decades. They have what we need, from 1940s plumbing replacements to the RV plumbing supplies I needed on my visit today. The staff is extremely helpful with solid expertise. It's truly a five-star hardware store!

Update: changing back to 5 stars, recent trip every was all masked up. Thanks for responding TD, we all really appreciate it!

Changing my previous 5 star review to 1 star. Please ensure your employees wear masks. Helped by a guy this morning, no mask and I felt like he wanted me to ask about it. I asked the girl at register if they were required to wear masks she said yes. I pointed out the guy in the back. No response. Cmon TV, you’re better than this.

Once you get to know the quirky layout of this store, you can find anything. A lot of stuff at Home Depot is designed for suburbanites. (Plus you have to walk a half a mile to find what you want.) If you live in Park Hill, Mayfair, etc., this is the place to go for stuff that fits your older home. They have everything a good hardware store carries, plus a lot of household supplies you wouldn't expect to find in a hardware store. There's always someone to help you out. This isn't the place to load up your truck with bricks and lumber, but anything else: support your local hardware store!

Best hardware store in Denver. True Value is a true hardware store in Denver that has what you need and they are friendly and knowledgeable without being bothersome and following you around recommending things you don't need just to make a sale. I am 34 years old and had been living in Park Hill my entire life until a couple years ago and now i still drive from Virginia Vale area to come here. My entire family has shopped here for years and I thank god it never turned into an Ace Hardware.

They have friendly, helpful, knowledgable staff and a wide range of products. Everything from lawn and garden to household necessities to car care and tools. Pretty much any household project need can be filled with one stop at this store.

I had been missing a storm window in my condo that was built in the 80's. It was suggested that I contact either Ace or True Value hardware to see if they could fabricate one. I called Denver True Value, they said it could be done. I visited the store and brought another storm window as an example. After about a week I received a call that it was ready to pickup. The new storm window is installed and it fits perfectly. I highly recommend this store. I will definitely be going back as I require some minor repairs on my other storm windows. Also as a bonus it reminds me of the hardware store I used to love to visit in my hometown.
