Grand Z Hotel Casino by Red Lion Hotels

Stayed here the Tuesday after Christmas & my bf & I were soooo pleasantly surprised w/our stay! Here are a few things that filled us w/joy while we were there:

The front desk & cashiers spoke to one another & gave us complimentary breakfast & Starbucks drinks for being "the cutest couple ever"! 🥰🥰🥰 thank you Phil & Eli!!! We enjoyed the heck out of our complimentary items the next morning!!! They also hooked my bf up w/pepto tabs & Tums because I woke in the middle of the early am w/a gnarly hangover (too many extra dirty martinis, I can't even think about olive juice for a month or 2 🤣).

Quazi, the gentleman who signed us up for players cards was extremely thorough & had lots of personality! 😊

The bartender at their 2nd level bar was on top of service & ensuring we were happy w/drinks during the 3 different times we went to visit him throughout the night. He makes a mean gin martini! He also sent us packing w/5 little waters for our room. Thank you, sir!

The rooms were spotless...even the shower curtains (which, in my experience is rare). The view we had in our room was lovely & I especially loved being able to open the window the allowed 4 inches (I'm big on fresh air while sleeping). The bed was comfy, the tv/channels were perfect for our needs & the refrigerator was precisely what we needed w/the snacks we traveled there with.

Their soda/tea/coffee machine on the 1st floor is such a treat! Especially after waking up at 4am craving Sprite from said hangover lol

It is a 5 min drive to Black Hawk or a 23 minute walk to Black Hawk & a 5 min walk to the Main Street in Central City.

Parking is easy peezy & there's plenty of it!

Security & management walking around the casino floors were nice & seemed to enjoy engaging w/guests!

The gal making coffee on the 1st floor knows how to make a mean dirty chai!

The Grill was quick & their breakfast burrito had so much bacon, for $12, we will def be back here on our next stay. Delish!

Carol and Phil that work the night shift here are not only very easy to talk to but extremely helpful when it came to grabbing my players card. If the rest of the staff is half as good as them, this place will stay my favorite casino!!!

Credit given where credit is due I have stayed in every room in Blackhawk and by far this is the best you are going to get for the money you're going to spend. The views here are impeccable during a snowstorm. The late night availability of sandwiches and basic food at one point literally saved me from probably being sick when I had a long work day. The staff is amazing, one of only a few places I would play table games. The heated overlook patio in the snow storm was a lot of fun.

It was hot because I was dressed too warmly. The games were tight but I still had fun and the elevator scared me so much that I thought my diefriends that I live to gamble another day.

Great staff, nice rooms the only downside is they don't have microwaves in the room which basically forces you to have to rely on them or other expensive dining venues in the area

Customer service was wonderful! The room big and very clean and the bed super comfy for me.

Beautiful casino the drive into is was GORGEOUS 😍 do not I repeat DO NOT try and go when it's snowy tho those turns are nuts 😳 drinks are free if you play and they chave coffee and soda tea not just alcohol 😉

I like Central City better than Blackhawk, just like I like downtown Fremont Street better than the strip.

Dealers/staff are by far the best part. Only place I go 👍 AJ/Dom (table games) are incredible! See y'all soon

For the cost, this stay was well worth it. Clean rooms and super friendly staff . The breakfast was super inexpensive and yummy as well

I actually climbed all the way up here to go camping but when my site didn’t work out this place had availability. Not only was the manager super nice and accommodating, but they have pet friendly rooms (60 lb weight limit). The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure, which is a rarity I feel. I didn’t do any gambling or eat the food. They got rid of their coffee station but you get a free Starbucks drink, which is better imo. There was some rowdy dudes at 1 am outside my room but it lasted a minute or so and then they were gone (it is a casino, after all).

I’m honestly not sure if I’ll be in central city again but if I am and I’m looking for a hotel, I’ll stay here.

The main reason for 5 stars is because they had decent food. At 4 o'clock on Sunday there just weren't many places to eat and I was hungry. The monarch has their buffet but I didn't want to stand in line for 2 hours or pay 60 per person. The other restaurant at the monarch didn't open till 5. The horseshoe had rented their restaurant out for a private party. Anyway, we ended up at the Grill located in the grand z. Besides one other couple, it was just me and my husband. So it was mellow and quiet. The server was awesome, and the food came out hot and quick and it was good. Plus it was reasonably priced.

It was a very comfortable stay. They gave us free Starbucks since there was no coffee in the room. Rooms are pretty big and clean. They will have all you need for a pleasant stay.

Rooms are comfortable enough, but definitely thin walls. I’m hardly in the room, but it was nice to have a place to crash when the time came!

It was great having a dog friendly room experience. All employees were friendly. We tried to get a extra Blanket and were unable to. We definitely will go back.

The Best Casino in Central City to gamble. Recent improvements include new games and sports book redo. Great place to watch the Big Games with Big Sceen TVs. During the week the casino is less crowded. Plenty of parking available.

Stood at the host station in the bistro for 20 min saw no one. Gave up when we saw a dinner at a table go over and refill his own water

Been to 75% of the casinos in black hawk and central city and none of them have cocktail servers as good as Grand Z casino. They come around more often with better drinks. The casino floor is spacious and the staff have excellent customer service!

This was a great place to stay. Our experience was excellent. My friend and her parents also came on vacation with us and stayed there with us. We were able to enjoy our stay and the amazing breakfast thoroughly. We appreciated some savory options rather than all sweet options.
