Fundamentally delicious pizza. No crazy combinations, no specially named pies with outside the box ingredients.... Just delicious crust and a great selection of toppings to build your own pizza with.

The beer selection is also phenomenal and the waitress was very knowledgeable.

The outdoor heated and covered patio was the perfect place to sit with small children.

Super awesome service, food was a bit slower but it was a packed house when we ordered. Delicious selection of craft beers and cool decor with art from local artists for sale!

Great spot for a pizza and beer. Got the classic newyork style pizza and a few 3 oz beers. The 3 oz's gave me a chance to try out a few different beers and they didn't hit the wallet too bad at $5 or less per beer. Definitely check it out if you're in town.

This was our first stop visiting from Detroit, and the pizza was great, and the beer was fabulous. Definitely worth a visit

I would have given 4 stars for the food because the pizza was just pizza not mind blowing and the toppings refused to stay on. Still a delicious pie though. Beer selection was excellent and all of the staff were so nice and catered to all of our needs. Because of that I just can’t justify a 4 star rating for anything here. Will definitely come back when I’m in Denver again.

I love Hops and Pie, when I'm in town, I go. Luckily we got in just before the evening crowd. Added bonus was the leftover beer selection from the Great American Beer Festival, Tap Takeover. I started to get a little worried when my companions pizza and sandwich arrived, but not mine - but then, all was revealed.. Detroit style sourdough.. see photo. Well worth a few minutes with a cold beer.

Not much to add except you wont find a much better neighborhood pizza place with killer food, world class beer list, and a crew of friendly folks that rarely turns over. (I say as I realize this is my 10th year frequenting H&P.) Always a plus to see owners busing tables when it's busy. Lots of kids on the family friendly patio, inside bar room a better venue if you want a more adult atmosphere.

Good vegetarian options, and props for adding a vegetarian slice of the day on Saturdays to make sessions work for more folks. Wouldn't hate to have a daily veggie slice in the future.

Fantastic pizza and a great beer selection! Huge salads. Definitely say side salad if you don't want salad to be your meal lol.

Excellent, and I mean EXCELLENT, beer selection. I happened there a day they had a ton of IPAs on draft, from Vermont (Lawson's Finest Liquid) to California (Russian River Brewing), passing by Wisconsin (Untitled Art). And of course lots of top shelf local breweries like Outer Range, Weldwerk, Comrade. Pizza is great too!!!

Pizza was great. Crust was chewy on the inside and a light crisp on the exterior. Sauce has just the right amount of spice. They use ezzos pepperonis, which are the best. Beer selection was great, lots of impressive IPAs. Service was awesome, very friendly. Will definitely visit again next time we're in Denver.

Awesome pizza shop in Tennyson. Wife and I shared a Detroit style and it was great. Good local beer selection as well. I was impressed with the affordability as well. Perfect spot for a causal Friday night dinner date.

Such a cool place with great pizza. Blake was our server last time and he was spot on. Jon Ham was playing like 10 odd instruments live and the music was fun and engaging. Inside and outside seating, and both have their advantages. Tennyson is a great street to walk before or after. They always have a slice of the day, and the goat cheese/basil one they had Friday was amazing. HOUSE made hot sauce (TWO options) which was amazing and override my only two, minor flaws in the place. Their IPA's are heavily East Coast biased, but get the Stonefly if you are West Coast driven like me. The only other thing is that you can't get pizza by the slice. So, either you invest in the pizza for two people, or hope you like the slice of the day. Still, I have to give the place 5 stars. Great staff, great vibe, and you should go.

Just went again, so adding to it:
This place has totally grown on me. It is tough to get a bar seat, but we have a better experience when we can pull it off. The slice of the day is always fun to find out what it is, they have happy hour specials that shave a buck off most drinks, and make sure to ask for the kitchen's hot sauce. I just bought a container of it so I can have it at home. It is magical. If you are an IPA drinker, they frequently have Pliny the Elder on tap, but they have plenty of other choices too. If your partner in crime doesn't drink beer, they have cocktails on tap, which is fun. Their patio was just redone and sometimes has live music. Amy was our bartender and was on point with personality and efficiency during our eating experience. Definitely recommend.

Perfect visit today. Thank you, Crystal, for the personable, but not intrusive service. I admit that I don't go in this place unless A) they have a live band on the patio or B) they have bar seats (love the most left seat but the place is stellar regardless), or C) if you call and the slice of the day has pepperoni, banana peppers, and mozzarella. Great selection of beer, and I will say that any place that carries Pliny the Elder for a reasonable price is...the bomb. Titos on tap, great regular crew, and...wait for it...the house made hot sauce is only rivaled by Tacos Tequilas Whiskey on 32nd. Seriously, the hot sauce is worth going to the place alone. I have bought it in bulk, and it goes on everything. You HAVE to either like hops or pie. So...stop reading my review and go there right now. Definitely recommend and see you there.

Great pizza. The cheese has the delightful stretchiness of real mozzarella and the sour dough crust is awesome. Also had the soup which was very flavorful. Looking forward

Personal deep dish pizza is big enough for 2 and you can get different toppings on each side. Pizzas are phenomenal! The beer selection is great. You have got to get the garlic bread!! Best garlic bread I’ve had! Love the atmosphere. Staff was excellent!

The food here is always perfection. We love the Detroit style pizza; last night we also tried the special sandwich which was a mile high pile of tender, shaved roast beef with the perfect accoutrements. Sampled lots of beer, too. The servers are so friendly and knowledgeable. Eat local!

This is by far the best vegan Pizza I've found in the Denver area over the last 9 years. I can never decide between the New York style and Detroit style, so I just order both and have amazing leftovers the next day. They usually even have vegan ranch if you ask for it.

I've never sat here, but the pizza is legit.

The dough and crust are up there and depending on what you order depends on your flop..
I don't mind the flop so much so I order wet ingredients but the flavor is great!

New York Sourdough pie with pork, sausage, bacon, onions, & green peppers was EXCELLENT. Jasmine was a happy and excellent server. New covered outdoor dining area. All in all a great place for lunch or dinner. Thanks!

This one was of the recommended spot to try during our stay near Denver. The customer service was fantastic. We got the artisan pizza with the duck and goat cheese. It was so flavorful. We also got some of the donuts and they were probably the best donuts we ever had. I do recommend asking for extra sauce. Other than that the meal was perfect

Visited in November, the server was very knowledgeable & friendly! Had the Detroit style pizza, as well as a couple different beers. The pizza crust was thick & had amazing flavor! We got donuts to eat the next morning & they were incredible as a trail reward! Will visit again when we're in the area! Several other cool shops within walking distance!
