Higher Grounds Cafe

Just got back to our hotel from visiting Higher Grounds and we could not have had a better experience. Nathan was such a pleasure to deal with! He was so personable and very helpful! And the coffee is pretty great too! Thank you, we will be back!

This is the ultimate place. Coffee is awesome and the staff is so hospitable and helpful. The indoors area is just as inviting as the outdoors area. The location is great and there is some (2 hours parking) around it. It opens early (lucky me) and has a great variety of beverages and food. I got the Yerba mate latte and it was excellent. I will be back!

Is the food exceptional? No. But also not expensive. The real draw is the vibe. Super friendly - like no one was waiting so we just chatted about places I could visit during my layover and it felt like I was being welcomed back despite it being my first time here. There’s plugs to charge electronics and free Wi-Fi. Good amount of seating. Just a nice chill place to regroup, relax, and recharge.

Great coffee and atmosphere. I ordered an iced caramel latte and the bacon burrito. Everything was excellent!

Super friendly service , tasty pastries and awesome coffees , I was in Golden Co. for three nights on vacation and this was my go to place for excellent service and coffee, definitely will come back if I’m ever in Golden again

I live in Denver but whenever I am in golden I always make sure to stop here. Any latte and chai I have ever gotten here has been really good. Sometimes I get their seasonal lattes and chais, such as pumpkin, etc., and these are always really good as well.

I also have had some of their treats, such as different scones (and I typically don't like scones at all), and they all have been really good as well.

The staff has always been really friendly and helpful as well.

And on nice days, they have outdoor seating as well which is nice.

Also, never had any issues finding off street parking nearby as well as they are a few blocks away from the busiest parts of the main street in golden.

A truly great coffee shop! The interior is very uniquely Colorado, while also being hip and cozy. The menu is impressive, but the prices are very reasonable.

I ordered the Pumpkin Chai Latte and was impressed with the flavors. Way richer than Charbucks chai lattes, and the pumpkin flavor was unusual because it actually tasted like pumpkin - not just the spices usually associated with pumpkin pie, but the actual pumpkin flavor as well.

A great coffee shop, highly recommend.

Hands down my FAVORITE coffee joint in Golden.

They make an amazing Dirty Chai (i go 1/2 sweet, 1/2 spicy).
the staff is so kind, fun and really make you feel at home.
Truly my favorite way to start the day.

it's helpful that parking never seems to be an issue here either.

If your looking to get some freshly coffee after a hike, then look no further. Got a iced tiramisu latte with soy which is on point. They have some nice seating inside but decided to enjoy this delicious beverage outside on their patio. Hopefully I can come back to try another drink.

Speciality coffees here are barista favorites & so yummy 😋 We tried the tiramisu latte and honey macadamia nut latte. Next time I want to try the Turkish delight with pistachio. The ambiance is cozy and warm too! The best coffee shop in Golden! We will come every time we visit Golden 💛☕🌱

I love the Higher Grounds Cafe. Delicious coffee and espresso, toasted bagels and pastries. Good prices, very friendly service and an outdoor deck to hang out on that I swear I could spend the rest of my life on. Leave Starbucks behind for now, they’re everywhere. There’s only one Higher Grounds Cafe and it’s right here!

Such a cute little place. Exceptionally friendly service, if the barista doesn't make you laugh it's a reflection on you not the staff. Great coffee and tasty baked goods. I wish I could come all the time.

Frequented Higher Grounds nearly every day during undergrad and grad studies at Mines (just up the street) and not only is this the best coffee in Golden but the best service, Jeff and Nathan always boosted my mood whenever I would come in to grab a coffee, great conversationalists and even better baristas. Jeff clearly cares about the consistency of the coffee at higher grounds. The atmosphere is very homey and is a great place to grab a cup of joe and sit down with a book or newspaper for a while!

Skip the chain store and check this place out.

Jeff is a delight! Everything we have experienced in this little gem was touched with love. Down to the live plants and homegrown honeycomb. 💛 HIGHLY recommend.
