Friggin' *adorable* book shop with a rad menu of coffee, tea, cocktails, beer, and wine!
Tons of fun to browse with a great beverage in hand

I visited at a point where I hadn't yet had breakfast or lunch - no beers or adult bevvies for me 😭 - but my London Fog (Earl Grey tea latte) was suuuuuperdelish.

The shop didn't have either of the music-related books I was hoping to find, but I really appreciated the staff member's intuitive suggestion, "hey based on these books you're requesting, I think you'll enjoy the entertainment section in the nonfiction room there in the back of the shop..."
...and I *did*.
Thanks!!

This is a 1 of a kind place with no other like it in Denver that I am aware of.
I recently found out about this amazing gem from a co- worker. I stopped by about a week ago. They just so happened to be having story night that evening. That is just 1 amongst other little events they have throughout the months. After story time, I ordered the yummiest dirty chai, took a look around and sat & read a book. This place had the most coziest, homiest, welcoming vibe ever! I seen families walking around with their little ones- as there is a childrens section of books as well which is great. I seen friends meeting up to chat and couples passing through on their way to dinner. The menu had some tasty snacks, wine, coffee, tea, cocktails etc... It was like a library with a coffee house feel & a bar. The place screams community! I was saddened to learn that the doors will be closing some time in Jan 2023!! What? Whyyy? This is a very unique place that is open to all walks of life, family's, loners, you name it. This is a gem you come across once in a lifetime. I am curious if the owner plans to sell or would allow another to run the place if it is too time consuming?
None the less, I would like to mention what this place may be doing for others who may need a place like this to go. I happened to be having a very rough week- as some may after the holidays & all.. there was some family feuding and I was feeling pretty low. Walking into this place was like walking into a different time. I immediately felt welcomed, chatted with great people and my worries definitely melted away. The good feelings even lingered after I left. So thank you very much!! Oh yea, the location is really great as well. There are some cute boutiques on the strip and some yummy places for dinner. I could only hope the owners could see what a difference they are making and choose to stay open.
*If there is anything I can do to assist this place staying open, please let me know*

Really cool spot. I love finding unique bookstores in cities I am visiting. Saw a lot of interesting books that I could easily have ended up buying. Would definitely go back and spend more time there.

Super cute bookstore and bar combined. We bought a few gifts for a friend but didn't have time for drinks. Will definitely have to come back! Tons of options for books and bookish items.

A great place to hang out. The place was recommended by a friend and BookBar did not disappoint.

There are a few sitting area where you can lounge and read books. There’s also a small bar that offers drinks and sweets. Unfortunately, due to COVID they only offer take out.

What I was drawn the most is the collection of books. They offer books written by people of color, LGBTQ+ persons, and local writers. There is a sense of diversity and inclusion once you enter the shop.

Lastly, they have some events that people can attend virtually and in person.

We bought two books from the store. Both are highly recommended.

BookBar is a welcoming place to buy and read a book. It's like a warm, friendly living room. This my 100 year old Underwood Standard portable with a cup of hot chocolate.

I think this was Watson sandwich, it was good but the lady took too long time to bring it to me, I guess it was understandable b/c she was busy taking orders. I am a person who supports local bookstores and this is really nice bookstore and great place to make communities.

Such a great place to meet friends to catch up in the cozy atmosphere. Wine, chocolate and cute gifts as well as books of course, such a great place.

Great experience at the Book bar! Their menus are adorable, coffee and wine are amazing and ambiance and staff are cool. Some friends and I did poetry trivia, and got free books for winning. We don't live close at all, but would definitely come back because of the friendly staff, good food, and environment.

Loved this little but big book bar. It has ample outdoor seating for all to enjoy eats, treats, a drink and their book. Happy I stumbled upon this great place.

What a cozy, relaxing place to read a book alongside your favorite coffee, tea, or beer! I was visiting Denver looking for a place to read and grab a drink, and decided to visit BookBar. I wish we had something similar in my hometown! First of all, the selection of books is excellent. There are several rooms full of books in every genre, complete with staff recommendations if you're stumped on what to read. An employee helped me pick out a book for my flight back and I can't put it down!

Secondly, the coffee, food, beer, and wine are excellent. A lot of the dishes have names that are puns on popular literature (Egger Allen Pesto!) which is so much fun. There's also a small but good selection of local beer. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food is; typically I expect more of the coffee and beer, but all of it was excellent and delicious. You can choose to sit inside by the bar, or outside on the patio, which has decent coverage for sunny days and plenty of room for larger groups.

I also had the privilege of being there during an author event, which was an absolute joy. I would love to attend more, as it was very interesting and entertaining!

We need more BookBars in this world.

It was an amazing experience. There are quite a few bathrooms. They have seasoned filled smells and delicious tantalizing drinks. It's a readers paradise with cozy reading nooks for writers too.

I've bought at least ten books here. I love working from home here, especially in the summer when my dog can hang out outside the patio. Coffee and scones are delicious. Also, I met my partner here last year on our first date! A year later still going strong so I gotta give thanks to bookbar.

Such a cute store! It has a wonderful selection of books (obvi).. but also a cute little patio, and a bar with beer, wine, coffee, pastries, and a variety of snack trays. And lots of great seating options! We were able to comfortably seat our book club with eight people out on the patio, it was lovely.

Loved it. Had a coffee, worked on my laptop, and bought some bookish merch for myself and some friends. Wish I lived locally so I could keep coming back!

Great place to sit and enjoy a book, writing, or contemplating life. The staff is amazing and all are super friendly. Cocktails are delicious (I had the Old Manhattan and the Sea). Indoor and outdoor seating. Great collection of books, games, and odds and ends to purchase!

Amazing place to get a coffee or adult beverage, hang out and read and take a book home with you, if you find one that tickles your fancy. Great, laid back atmosphere, and I love having a place to sit in read when I have some time to kill in Denver.

BookBar is such a delightful place. The combination of bookstore and bar (and tiny cafe with snacks) is such a great concept. It's in the middle of pretty-walkable Tennyson, and is impossibly chill every single time I come in. Also, the staff is great, and all of them are enthusiastic about books. I'm currently staring at a copy of one of my favorite off-beat author's books on their recommended new releases shelf.

So, whether you want to get good book advice or just hang with a drink and read, this is the place for you.

This is a lovely bookstore and bar, with a welcoming atmosphere and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. Beer and wine prices are decent, and the book selection is great and appealing. Baby-changing station in a family restroom. Disability-accessible. Cute little patio out back. Parking is on the street, but I found a parking spot with no problem on a Saturday night.

A super cute bookstore, with an even cuter back patio! Casual snacks, good wine, beer, and coffee choices at reasonable prices. The area is great to walk around if you want something to do before or after sipping a drink and checking out books. Browse books and fun little knickknacks while you support a local business!
