We stumbled upon this store because they had a 30% off sale. The store overall was great (good selection, well organized, and clean) but what really pushed our experience to 5-stars was the service. Luke was very helpful and knowledgeable. Not only did he help us try on endless pairs of boots without a single hint of complaint, he also recommended a local taphouse for us to try out (Trailhead, which we did try and it was amazing!).

Whenever we're in Golden we have to stop in - there's always a nice selection of outdoor wear and gear. Recently I needed help finding the right hiking shoe and Peter was both personable and knowledgeable. Appreciate this kind of customer service!

Great choice of Altra and Hoka shoes

Jo in the shoe section is an absolute gem. She may be young, but don’t be fooled, she has a lot of detailed info and recs for “difficult” feet (and in my case, knee issues as well). I’ve been to two REI’s and literally tried everything they had for my wide toe box, wideish midfoot, and super narrow heel w no luck. Jo is the first person to introduce me to the world of shoe inserts to help with heel cup issues, lack of cushioning etc. Total game changer. She had multiple creative suggestions and really knew her stuff! Thanks again, Jo!

Was just walking by the store in Golden, CO and everything inside was very organized and clean. We noticed a backpack that was perfect for what we were doing. Logan was EXTREMELY helpful in fitting us for the backpack that was going to be the most useful for our needs. Alec also helped me with my phone. Would recommend Vital Outdoors for anybody that needs anything to be outdoors and we appreciate the patience all the staff showed toward us while we took over hour to decide which backpack was best for us. Excellent service and very friendly staff. I was on a Coors tour and wasn't able to bring my bag along. I walked to Vital and they told me they would hold it no problem. I would have bought something just for that if I wasn't hopping on a plane tomorrow. Anytime I see Vital next, that is the store I'll go to for my outdoor supplies!

Great store in downtown Golden! You can find everything you need for the great outdoors and indoors. Sales people are very helpful. Chris helped me find the perfect shoe for playing pickle ball. Showed me a trick to lace shoe for more comfort. Highly recommend this store!

The staff are always so helpful and friendly. The store is well stocked with almost everything you could need. Chris helped me find a new pair of sandals this evening; he is very knowledgable and skilled at fitting shoes! Highly recommend.

Love this store because they feature clothes that are both sporty and fashionable. Super nice staff and they have a lot of great sales. I bought a pair of Born boots here and they had the best price around -- I compared with several of the national retailers too.

Good selection of outdoor clothes from Patagonia, North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Kuhl, & others. Good spot for camping/hiking too. Vital leans more into the summer outdoor activities (they still carry some winter stuff), while the other outdoor store in Golden leans more into the winter activities. Glad to have both!

Great store that has always helped me out especially with shoes. They have a great selection of running shoes, trail running shoes, and rugged casual shoes. So far I've purchased 2 pairs of shoes her (Altra trail running shoes, and Keen snow boots) and I plan to keep going back.

Such great staff. They really take the time to listen to you and help you out. Awesome deals on lightly used products as well as new products as well. We will definitely be back!

Ask for Chris if you want expert information on the type of hiking, back packing shoes. He will recommend two tests while you are in the store to make sure the shoes you buy are correct for your feet and needs. Allow some time for an amazing experience!
