Blue Horse Inn

Our stay at The Blue Horse Inn was absolutely perfect. The owners, Tony and Jill are very kind and welcoming. The inn is beautiful and clean. The grounds are gorgeous, and overlook the river. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, and relaxing by the river. Jill’s 3-course breakfasts are delicious! They are the best breakfasts we’ve ever eaten! The Blue Horse Inn is right in town, making it easy to walk to all of the shops and restaurants. We would recommend The Blue Horse Inn to anyone who wishes to stay in Woodstock, Vermont!

Jill and Tony are most gracious hosts and have such a beautiful property. The Blue Horse Inn is quintessential Woodstock and a wonderful place to stay. The breakfasts are delicious, and the grounds immaculate. It’s such a peaceful and relaxing place. The location is great as it’s a short walk into town and on the main road. If I’m visiting Woodstock, I’m only staying at The Blue Horse Inn.

The Blue Horse Inn is simply incredible. The hosts Jill and Tony are incredibly kind and caring, and go to great lengths to learn the names and preferences of all guests. It felt like staying with family in a warm and familiar home. The amenities are top notch and the food was to die for. Everything was fresh and tasty, locally sourced too! You can’t beat the Blue Horse Inn for its value and the experience. Hands down the best lodging experience we’ve ever had and we can’t wait to return. Thank you!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Horse Inn. The accommodations are five star and our hosts, Tony and Jill were absolutely delightful. The Inn itself was elegant and so cozy and comfortable at the same time. The location was perfect as it allowed us to walk everywhere in and around town. The breakfasts were beautifully presented and very yummy. We completely enjoyed chatting with Tony about the restoration of the Inn as well as what life is like in Woodstock from a locals perspective. Simply delightful - this bnb is centrally located in Woodstock and is beautiful inside and out. The grounds in particular are lovely, the pool is nicely landscaped and the Adirondack chairs overlooking the river were our favorite spot to relax and read. Breakfast was delicious and Jill was very accommodating of my dietary needs. Jill and Tony also had great recommendations for dining and sightseeing around town. We were sad to leave and would love to come back!

We were recently in Woodstock to attend a wedding and chose Blue Horse Inn as it was one of the recommended accommodations and close to the venue. We didn't expect anything out of the ordinary so were blown away when we arrived at the inn. Jill and Tony are very gracious hosts who seem to have thought of everything. They have done an amazing job renovating the inn, our room and the common areas were beautiful and very welcoming and we are still talking about the delicious breakfast! It snowed the night we were there and Tony even cleaned our car off!! This was a quick trip and we look forward to returning to Woodstock and staying at the Blue Horse again when we have more time to explore! Thank you!!!

We've stayed at over two dozen B&B's across the country and by far, Blue Horse takes the cake! Jill and Tony are delightful proprietors. The inn was immaculate, Room 6 mattress was one of the best I've slept on, and the bath towels, well, I wanted to pack them up and take them with me. Every detail to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing was well thought out. The breakfasts were not only delicious, but the presentation and synthesis of food combinations was as close to Michelin rated as it gets. The property is within walking distance of all of the restaurants and shops in Woodstock. The property is gorgeous and the gas fire pit down by the river was a perfect way to end the day. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The Blue Horse Inn pretty much has it all! My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend visit, our first to Vermont. It could not have worked out better! The Inn is located perfectly for an easy walk into town, has ample parking, and beautiful views over the river in back.

The Inn itself has clearly been painstakingly restored and brought up to date, while still maintaining the historic charm and vibes you want in a B&B. The rave reviews you'll see about breakfast are not lying, as Jill, Tony, and their team have gone above and beyond what you'd expect to eat. Fresh, seasonal food prepared well is a great way to start the day. If you're considering the Blue Horse Inn for your visit to Woodstock, I'd say make your reservation now, before someone else scoops it up!

Some recent travel experiences made me think back to some truly fantastic stays - including at the Blue Horse Inn. Jill and Tony were extremely nice, gave us some great pointers for our stay and breakfast each morning was fantastic. I still remember how great that puff pancake was two years later. On top of that location is great with just a short walk into the town and you can actually take a walk up Mount Tom too if you so please. Really hope we will have the opportunity to visit again sometime soon.

This was our second time coming to the Blue Horse Inn and it was just as marvelous as our first the year prior! When deciding where to go for my birthday weekend, I knew it would be to Woodstock VT to stay here and to go skiing at Killington :) Jill and Tony truly make you feel like you're staying in a family home. We stayed in room 10 this time because I wanted our pop Zoey to stay with us this trip and she had a great time. They provided dog bowls and treats for Zoey, which was very kind. The room itself is a suite with a sitting room and we appreciated the extra room having Zoey with us. Every room and space at the Blue Horse Inn is immaculately kept and their housekeepers do a phenomenal job. You will love your stay here - every detail is so well thought through from the 3-course everchanging breakfast menu, the sitting rooms with their cozy fireplaces, the treats Jill makes each afternoon (smores cookies, snickerdoodles, peppermint brownies, and more!). When in town, definitely check out Mon Vert but be prepared to wait in a large line (though well worth it) and check out The Quechee Inn for dinner on Fridays for their 3-course special for two! We love walking around the town from the inn and this time we walked through the back neighborhoods and explored even more with having our dog and fell in love even more with this charming historic town. Thank you for another lovely trip, Jill and Tony! It was such a special birthday and we can't wait to be back again!

If I could give this place 500 stars I would.
Every single thing was just perfect.
Place is absolutely clean, beautiful, cozy.
The breakfast we had was like you ate in top French restaurant, the presentation of food, the taste.
Atmosphere and look of the place is gorgeous and charming.
Most importantly the owners are husband and wife seem so classy modest and very advanced at the same time.
They do everything with love.
You should stay there and have that amazing experience.

We just enjoyed a 3 night stay at this wonderful inn in Woodstock. Jill and Tony have taken great care of the inn and every aspect of the property is beautiful. We stayed in Room 9 which is one of the smaller Classic rooms at the inn. We spent most of our time visiting other areas of Woodstock so the smaller room didn't bother us but if you plan to spend more time there, I'd suggest choosing a larger room type. Otherwise, this is a wonderful inn, in a great location in the heart of Woodstock, and the hosts were exceptional.

The Inn is beautiful! Jill and Tony have done a marvelous job of restoring the house. We loved our room, the breakfast was beautifully presented (a real work of art!), and the hospitality was warm and gracious. Both Jill and Tony were helpful in guiding us to places of interest. We highly recommend the Blue Horse and hope to return!

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Horse Inn. The room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was amazing! Jill and Tony do such a great job running the Blue Horse Inn and are gracious hosts. The location is pretty ideal, too - not only is the property right on the river, it's also just a short walk from the center of Woodstock.

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Blue Horse Inn for the 2nd time and we swear it gets better and better. Jill and Tony are incredible hosts, especially during this uncertain time of COVID. Not only is the Inn warm and welcoming, it felt extremely clean and well maintained. They really go above and beyond for their guests. We got to enjoy the spacious backyard, which was beautifully kept, the fire pit and we even took a dip in the refreshing pool! The Inn is located in the heart of Woodstock, but still feels like your own little oasis. I highly recommend this incredible Inn to everyone!!!!!!!!!!! You will not be disappointed

Jill and Tony were wonderful and welcoming. First name basis and cared to help us make our visit to Woodstock very memorable.

The Inn location is right next to town and is clean, cozy and accommodating. The breakfasts are made fresh every morning and the cozy cookies by the fireplace in the evening were some of my favorite things.

Jill and Tony are the best! They are delightful hosts who pay attention to their guests, the food, the Inn itself. The Inn is spotless and beautifully designed, with large rooms and high ceilings. Jill's breakfasts were amazing, including homemade fresh muffins and plated meals with all the right touches. Delicious!

The location is great, right at the edge of downtown Woodstock with easy walks into town, around the bridges, and other hiking. We took a short drive to x-ski as well.

The Inn is on a rise with the lawn (covered with snow on our visit) going right down to the river. We could watch the ice floating down the river from our room or the breakfast room; very relaxing.

We will definitely be back!

Heavenly! My husband and I came up to Woodstock to celebrate the New Year, and stayed here. We will be back! The Blue Horse Inn is beautifully decorated and spotless, with plenty of amenities and thoughtful details. Jill helped us book a last-minute dinner reservation on New Year’s weekend at a delicious local restaurant. The breakfast and coffee are delicious! There’s plenty to do in the area. It’s a short driving distance to several skiing destinations. Could not have imagined a more perfect escape!

We had a WONDERFUL stay and the Blue Horse Inn and I would highly recommend if visiting Woodstock! We stayed in the dog-friendly suite and everything was comfortable, clean and thoughtful. Especially loved that they even included dog waste bags, a bowl and bed without even asking! This was walking distance to everything you need (for reference, it's diagonal to Woodstock Inn) and I especially loved the hike you can do through town from right down the block. The breakfast was fantastic and owners are so kind and helpful! We felt SUPER comfortable coming here during the pandemic, everything was spotless and followed guidelines. I just can't wait to visit when it's warm out so we can sit by the little creek behind the Inn.

The Blue Horse Inn was amazing, simply put. From their welcoming, which followed COVID guidelines to a tee and was extremely clean, to their incredible accommodations and breakfast. Tony and Jill were fantastic hosts and very attentive and truly cared about their guest’s stay. I definitely will be back and have recommended many of my friends to visit!
