My Wife and I came in here on 2-17-24 around 12:45. We were coming to get a Veterans Lifetime Park Pass. The two Ladies at the entrance counter were just beyond helpful, it was great to get all of the Info they had to offer and we both really appreciative all of their help and recommendations. They quickly were able to help us get the Pass. Then we walked around not previously knowing all of the great things offered here. Would highly recommend checking this place out, kids will also love stopping in. Highly recommend.

This is a really good visitor center. If you are going to Apostle Islands or the great lakes, its worth visiting here. We made a detour to go via here when heading south and it was well worth it. Love the tower and the views across the area. There are also a short walk from the visitor center around a lake.
Inside there are various displays across multiple floors. Comprehensive information about the area is available, plus the usual shop. There is a lot here and its one of the best visitor centers I have seen, and I have done over 150 National Park sites. I would certainly include this in your route, if you are driving up to Apostle Islands.

Very interesting and informative. Everything from art, to displays, beautifully painted wall murals and information about the northern great lakes. The bonus was the tower, three floor up, with breath taking views. Highly recommend.

This is the best visitor center I have ever been to by far, and I travel a lot and love visitor centers! When I was there there were several art exhibits- one was woven portraits of women who have fought for clean water all over the world, and the other was an artists painting of native Americans in their pow wow regalia. These were in addition to their historical Great Lake exhibits and ranger programs. They also have a fantastic trail system on the beautiful preserve they sit on. In addition they have a very comfortable theatre and a fantastic educational selection of historical and environmental film library for every age and interest. Because the weather was not conducive to apostle island tours, I actually spent a second day here watching movies. The staff were excellent too and I saw that many people visiting were also impressed.

Super staff and information! Got my Superior Circle Tour stamp and info on some area points of interest. Beautiful interior and clean restroom facilities. Arrived 45 minutes before closing and didn't feel pushed out the door. Really enjoys the observation tower.

We love stopping here whenever we drive by (so far only twice but will be back)! The long nature trail is really nice and takes you through a variety of trees/plants. Half is gravel, half is boardwalk. The building is full of info and nice art. Cute gift shop. There are also employees to help with info on the area if you're interested. Clean bathrooms. One of the best rest stops!

Even tho a majority of the building is restricted due to covid, there is still great native displays and art, as well as the gift shop. The nature trail loop is a must, winding thru mixed hardwood and conifer forest and wetlands

A beautiful place for education or simply relaxing. There are trails to walk, and many displays. I migrated to the elevated deck in the rear and sat in a rocking chair and read. The deck overlooks a lovely pond & wetland.

The staff are the best and the educational content is beyond expectations! The front desk staff has some awesome searches you can participate in! The children had a absolute blast and didn't realize they were actually learning! Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area! The views from the observation deck are breathtaking!

What an awesome museum they have there. From fur trade to logging and everything in between. Laid out nicely and what a view from the top, will be back in the spring to walk the trails. Real nice gift shop as well, picked up some books and t-shirts. The porcupine quill earrings are really cool too.

A treasure of the Northlands, the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center is a great example of successful collaboration leveraging local, state, and federal resources. Regular programming and exhibits are provided, thanks to the many local volunteers, artists, ecological scientists and nature lovers.

This place has it all, lots of stuff to look at, interactive stations. Just so much fun in general, we took lots of photos. You could spend hours here with your smaller children. We stopped at the gift shop again on our way out of the area. Lots of cute items for sale.
