The Gathering Place at Darlington Lake

I photographed Shannon & Patrick's beautiful summer wedding here and I can't rave about the experience enough. It's such a hidden gem in the Pittsburgh area. The venue and grounds are beautiful and there's no shortage of great locations for photos. The staff was also excellent and very friendly. I highly recommend this venue!

As a professional wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of documenting a couple's special day at The Gathering Place venue in Pittsburgh. I am thrilled to share my experience and leave a glowing review of this enchanting location.

The Gathering Place, a serene oasis that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and urban charm. The venue's beautiful landscape, tranquil ponds, and rustic architecture provided a breathtaking backdrop for capturing the love and joy of the newlyweds.

Working with the team at The Gathering Place was an absolute delight. From the initial inquiry to the day of the wedding, their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were exemplary. The event coordinators were attentive to the couple's vision and worked tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of the day was executed flawlessly. As a photographer, I appreciated their flexibility and willingness to accommodate our needs, allowing us to focus on creating stunning images.

The venue itself is a photographer's dream, offering a myriad of charming settings for capturing intimate moments and candid shots. Whether it was the lush green landscape, the quaint gazebo, or the rustic barn, each location provided endless opportunities for creative photography. The natural light streaming through the trees and the gentle breeze rustling the leaves added an ethereal quality to the images, making them truly magical.

One of the highlights of photographing at The Gathering Place was the delectable culinary offerings. The talented chefs from Medures Catering crafted a menu that was as delicious as it was visually stunning, featuring locally sourced ingredients and innovative flavors that delighted the palate. The presentation of the dishes was impeccable, adding an extra layer of elegance to the reception.

Overall, my experience photographing a wedding at The Gathering Place was nothing short of extraordinary. I am grateful to have been a part of such a memorable occasion, and I wholeheartedly recommend The Gathering Place to any couple seeking a romantic and enchanting wedding venue in Pittsburgh.

We got married at TGP on 10/21/23 and it was beyond perfect. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking and the owners Annie & Ed make the whole experience so memorable. Annie replies quickly to any questions/concerns you may have along the way and is such a sweet, kindhearted person. Having the cabin right onsite to get ready in the morning of is so convenient and really sets the mood for the day. I had so many guests in awe of how beautiful the venue was and how great our wedding was. I will forever recommend TGP to any and all future couples looking for a wedding venue. Thank you so much Annie & Ed for all that you do for each and every couple you have the pleasure of watching get married on your beautiful property.

Our wedding day was perfect. The catering was excellent, the venue was beautiful, and everything was stress free. Thank you for making our special day magical!

The Gathering Place was the most perfect venue from the moment we booked it. Annie and Ed made sure that every detail of our day was perfect. If I had any questions before the day, they were quick to respond and super helpful! On the day of our wedding they spent the day making sure everything ran smoothly. From perfecting the landscape to fixing my train right before I walked down the aisle. We could not have asked for a better venue!

We just got married here in May, and it couldn’t have been more perfect!! From the moment we booked the venue back in 2021 until now, Annie and Ed have been so amazing to work with. Any time we had a question or wanted to check on something, they were so unbelievably quick to get back with us! They really made the entire process stress free. The venue itself is absolutely stunning as well (obviously )! There is so much space and so many different spots for people to hang out at throughout the day/night. We heard an insane amount of compliments from our guests regarding how much they liked it as well. We would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone! Our wedding was perfect and it was all thanks to Annie and Ed and their amazing venue! The entire place is beautiful from the grounds, on-site cabin, ceremony and to the reception area. Annie and Ed are so easy to work with, very responsive to questions, organized and helpful. We even had a mishap with alcohol and they were so quick to fix the issue without hesitation! So many of our guests raved about how beautiful the venue is and had a blast. I will forever recommend The Gathering Place!

I was there for my niece's wedding. It was amazing setting. The weather sure was in our favor too. I have no idea what this venue cost her and my brother. They had the use of the whole property. For a dressing area for the bride. There was an area for getting drinks and appetizers. They did all the decorations and tables. I would love to have my wedding there if and ever I would get married. Perfect location and setting. Plenty of parking too. Signs on the road to help get you there.

Our wedding day was an absolute dream. Annie and Ed were easy to communicate with and helpful throughout the entire process. It was evident that they were ready to do whatever it took to make sure our wedding was everything that we wanted and planned it to be. We used the cabin on site to get ready and it was so convenient to be able to be on premises all day. We also utilized Events143 for ceremony coordination and complete turn-key decorating. They took everything we described and made our dreams come true. The Gathering Place was the first and only venue we toured. It was love at first sight. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful our day was, and we have The Gathering Place to thank for providing us the perfect backdrop to an outstanding day. We had our fairytale wedding at The Gathering Place at Darlington Lake. It was all that we dreamt of and more! First of all, the owners Annie and Ed Knotts are absolutely amazing. They are so kind, patient, and thorough to create the vision you want for your wedding. Jodie Fusetti, from Events 143, was our wedding planner. They provided majority of the decorations. This was VERY nice! She sat out the decorations she had and let us pick. We just had to bring what we wanted to sit out on the tables (Guestbook, pictures, etc.). She created a memory table for us, guestbook table, etc. Annie and Jodie set up and put EVERYTHING away for us. This venue is a perfect one stop shop. We had our ceremony and reception here. My bridesmaids and I were able to get ready at the newly built cabin on site. This saved us a lot of time. The cabin was absolutely perfect! We have a lot of beautiful pictures and memories from this venue. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us! Our guests could not get over the scenery. The guests loved the lake, the gazebo, and the wildlife by the lake. It is called The Gathering Place for a reason. At one point, my husband and I sat at the gazebo and watched all of our guests enjoying themselves. We saw them dancing, chatting with family, talking to friends, and making new friends. It brought us such joy! If you are looking for a wedding venue, this place will exceed your expectations! We are so grateful for the memories we made here!

Words cannot describe the positive experience we had at The Gathering Place for our August wedding. From the beginning Annie and Ed were the very best and so nice! They responded fast to email inquiries, provided us with all the necessary information and made everything easy to understand. The bridal cabin was the perfect as well, our hair and makeup vendor came right to us, and all we had to do was relax and have fun!

The venue is absolutely stunning. We received so many comments from our guests in awe of the beautiful view, woodwork, lake and and log cabin. The separate cocktail area, space for corn hole, gazebo and fire pit makes this venue the perfect space to accommodate everyone.

Jodie, the event coordinator for Events143, did a fantastic job listening to our wants and created a magical space for our wedding. She nailed it! All together they made the planning process so easy and stress free! Our special day was everything we could have imagined and more. If I were to do it all over again, I would definitely choose this place again as well! :)

Right from the start, we knew this was going to be our perfect venue. Annie and Ed were a blessing to work with. They are so kind and genuine that they made it that much easier to work with them and plan our wedding. This was the first venue we looked at and it was the only venue we needed to look at. They respond in a quick manner to emails and helped us out so much. They went above and beyond for our rehearsal dinner and wedding day. The cabin onsite to get ready for the day of the wedding is absolutely gorgeous! That in itself made the day of the wedding stress-free and relaxing! I cannot thank Annie and Ed enough for how special they made us feel and for the beautiful venue. I highly recommend getting married here if you want your dream wedding. I had mine because of them and for that, I will never forget them. They are such special people. The guests at our wedding could not stop complimenting how beautiful the venue was as well. We had some guests tell us they wish they got married here or that they want to get remarried at the venue! Please go and see this venue to see for yourself!!

My husband and I got married at The Gathering Place at Darlington Lake last weekend. We booked our wedding there over a year ago, so we have been working with them for quite some time leading up to now. In all that time, I have nothing but great things to say about this venue and the owners, Annie and Ed! They have been so responsive, helpful, and kind throughout our wedding planning experience. We hired their daughter, Jodie, to decorate and help with the set-up/ clean-up on our wedding day. She is SO sweet, and her company did an awesome job. Annie, Ed, and Jodie made everything so easy! The venue is breathtaking, clean, and so unique. We’ve had several guests reach out to us and my family this week about how beautiful it was!! We’re truly going to miss working with The Gathering Place – it was one of our favorite places to visit and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. If you are deciding where to get married – choose The Gathering Place! Such a beautiful venue! Annie and Ed were so great to work with! Our day was perfect!

What's not to love about this place? Kind, caring, thoughtful, and accepting owners. Quiet, country setting. Unpretentious yet quaintly classy. A beautiful lake. A charming timber frame main building with retractable glass sides to keep it open and airy or for protection against the chill. Pavilion on the water to allow guests to get away from the party and relax. And a purpose-built wedding cabin that is set up to be a hair and makeup artist's dream.
Not to mention one of the best wedding ceremony areas where I've ever had the pleasure of officiating.

This place is beautiful and such a perfect spot for weddings and events. Everything is beautifully decorated and the scenery couldn't be prettier. Highly recommend.

We had our wedding at this venue last week and it couldn't have been more perfect! While planning a wedding alone is stressful, during COVID was even more stressful, but Annie is there to answer any and all questions in a polite and positive manner. Annie and Ed have thought about all of the little details that help make this wedding venue absolutely perfect. The bridal cabin for the girls is absolutely spectacular as well as the main event center and space. Anywhere on the property is gorgeous for pictures as well!! I would recommend this venue time and time again to couples looking for the perfect place to have their special day. ❤

We had our wedding here October 2023. Annie was so wonderful to work with and was very quick to get back to us when we had questions. We had no issues throughout our whole planning process. I would recommend this venue to anyone getting married! The best day.
