Blue Gentian Lodge

While traveling home from a work trip in vermont, I found myself in the middle of a storm that made travel quite hazardous. I searched for accommodations and after over an hour of travel and seeing multiple cars off the road, I found the Blue Gentian Lodge. I hoped that they were open and that they had a room available for the night. I knew I couldn't make it an additional 3+ hours home the way the roads were. The innkeepers were so gracious. They offered me a warm drink while they prepared a room for me for the night. The accommodations were lovely. I was so grateful to have a safe place to rest until the storm passed and the roads were cleared. In the morning, they offered breakfast and coffee. I am so grateful for their hospitality.

I took part in a women's cycling weekend that overnighted at The Blue Gentian Lodge. What a special place! The pool and hot tub were wonderful after our ride, and the hosts, Lisa and her husband couldn't have been nicer. We stashed our bikes in the basement for safe-keeping and slept soundly after a delicious dinner. It's nestled in the shadow of Magic Mountain. Truly a special spot.

This is a clean and cute motel type hotel. It has a rustic charm, neat decor, 3 nice cats in the lobby, and very nice owners! They run 100% on solar power and had lots of hot water. The beds were comfy and we were well rested from our days on the local ski mountains. We just wished that breakfast started a little bit earlier than 8am, we were already at the mountain by this time.

Lisa and Ken provide a clean, well furnished getaway with friendly service in a lovely area.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights for skiing. The rooms were very cozy. It was frigid for the two nights we stayed, reaching -18 outside, but the heaters and bathroom heaters kept us warm. The beds were very comfortable. The inkeepers are very friendly and make breakfast for the guests, which was delicious. There is a really comfortable fireplace and even a ping pong table for public use

Don't pay attention to the bad reviews below. Don't smoke in your rooms. It's against the law in Vermont.

I've been staying at the Blue Gentian every winter for the last 8 years and aside from the our friends in the Appalachian Mountain Club who stay along with us, the highlight of the visit is the innkeepers Ken and Lisa. Lisa is just too wonderful for words. How can you not love her? And while Ken is more the quiet type, we've gotten to know why Lisa married him. We look forward to many more southern Vermont adventures with these two keeping the fireplace stoked and the good food coming.

Make that 13 years & still loving it.

Lisa and John were incredibly hospitable. The rooms were nice, the place kept impeccably clean and the breakfast has nice variety with fruits, yogurt, cereal and something else warm/cooked. A peaceful, charming place easy walking distance to the slopes.

Great beautiful clean lodge! With owners providing awesome hospitabiity! Spacious open warm lodge dining environment with real wood burning fireplace! Outside jacuzzi a bonus in the wintertime! Close to skiing resorts. Also has an outside pool for use in summer time. Definitely will be back!

A really wonderful experience. Lisa and Ken are extremely friendly hosts and the inn is located in a beautiful spot under Magic Mountain. The rooms are cozy and the hot tub feels great when the temperature plummets.

My Husband and I have been going to the Blue Gentian Lodge for about 15 years. We stay at least once a year, often twice a year. The lodge is very clean, comfortable and quiet with rooms that will accomodate a family or single individual. The Innkeepers are friendly, accomodating and very helpful and will assist you in any way needed. The rooms are modern with a very rustic and comfortable feel and there is a common area for one and all to relax and chat, watch TV, do a puzzle or play games. There is also a refridgerator that is available for guests so if you want to bring something that needs to be cold, you are all set. Not to mention a hot tub and swimming pool all set in a perfectly serene area. We love coming here and were just there for the Memorial Day weekend and hope to get back there in the fall. Thanks for a great time!

our bike group got rescheduled to stay here, and it was a gift from the cycling gods. The couple that manage the Lodge was super to us. The dinner they served unbelievable and the breakfast was a feast, too. Truly they are Vermont's second "VonTrapps' in this case of Magic Mountain.

The check in was quick and easy. The front desk staff was exceptional. And the room was excellent as well clean and very nice bedding. We don’t go to this area often but would definitely recommend this location

Great place for a cozy winter stay. Excellent innkeeper couple. Beautiful area of Vermont. Plenty of outdoor winter activities. Have been going for 3 years and will continue.

Down home experience. Great staff! Bottom of Magic Mountain. Cozy fireplace lodge, game room, awesome breakfasts. Been coming here for 20 + years, THAT tells you something...!

The cutest and sweetest hosts, always so pleasant and helpful! The room is comfortable and offers one of the best midweek mountain deals in the area.

Always love coming here- the location is perfect for anyone looking to ski. The rooms are quiet and country-like, and the owners are great people! Would recommend to anyone!

Went on Inn to Inn indulgence tour...the owners are fun, thoughtful and cheesecakes were delicious!!! I would recommend staying at their Lodge!!

Very quaint. The inn keeps are so nice. You can walk down to Magic Mountain.
