Our favorite Campground! It's a 3/4 "dry" Campground (bring in your own water and no electric) but a few sites with water/power on South side. But it's beautiful!! Spending our days outside in a wonderful location, bath houses are cleaned twice a day with large outside sink to wash any pots/pans you may have, grounds are kept maintained and we use the river to stay cool. Plan on campfires, good food, good friends and great memories!!

Great campground with firepits, picnic tables, a playground, and bathrooms to use.
The only issue I had was the women's shower floor felt like it was going to cave in at any moment.
Other than that, great campground! The guy in the office is very nice too!

This is, by far, our favorite campground visit of the year. The bathrooms/showers are kept clean. The water pressure is excellent and the water temperature is good and warm. Not quite hot. Everything is kept well mowed and trimmed. Scenery is second to none. Absolutely gorgeous. Cell service is spotty at best. Most sites are without utilities. But some can be had in the south loop. Dumping station is easy to get in and out of.

Amazing little spot in the middle of nowhere Vermont! Loved our stay. Really appreciated the trash bag given to us by the lady at check in, very nice little extra. Loved the dish washing station at the bathhouse, really handy since they were no hook up sites. No cell service to speak of but that kind of the point right? Overall we loved our stay and would stay there again if we were in the area.

Excellent campground with hot showers.
The lean to sheds are very helpful for an extra bit of cover/shelter from the elements.
Firewood for sale from the ranger or you can find it on the ground on the woodlands.
The grounds next to the river are particularly beautiful!
Highly recommended and we'll be returning next year!

I haven't been to this campground in about 30 years but when I was a kid it was my favorite place to go camping! Wonderful place to set up camp and have great summer fun fishing and swimming! The trails are awesome!

A great experience from the time we arrived until we left. Beautiful campground that is well maintained by everyone there. No litter. Bathrooms and showers are a little dated but are spotlessly clean.
River dissects the park into north and south sections. South side is accessed by a bridge which is right to turn onto. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Overall a quality place to camp. Absolutely beautiful location with tons of trails, hikes and waterfalls nearby. The bathrooms are clean and have free hot showers. Many of the bathrooms also have dishwashing stations and sinks to fill your water bottles. Not all the campsites are created equal and you will want to book ahead of time to get one that has a bit more space and privacy.

Love this place. We return every year. Bathrooms are kept clean. Campsites are so nice. Most of the campground has soft comfy grass. River close by and walking trails

I would have to say that this is the best campground in Vermont. The army corps do an excellent job in maintaining the grounds. The bathrooms have flush toilets free hot showers and are always clean. Every site is large and has great grass. We go camping here at least 4 times a year and have never had a poor experience. Choose to relax in either the Winhall Brook or the West River. Walk, run or ride your bike on the trails. Some sites have power and water. Some sites have a lean-to. Cell service is not great and that makes it even better. We haven't stayed in a terrible site yet (I don't think there are any). To wrap this up, Winhall Brook Campground is a dog friendly, family friendly campground, and a great place to unplug and relax.

We stayed at S27 with our 20 foot camper. This campground is a hidden gem in Vermont with hookups available or not, free showers, a dishwasher station, tons of places to walk and take a river swim, it's dog friendly and the staff are amazing. Also we got 50% off our campsite by using our reserve america card.

Camping for 75 years, now with our pull behind trailer. We loved this campground. Nice size sites, camping on grass, great spot to base our outings. Surrounded by quaint towns, Ball Mountain Lake, and history. Hope to go back soon.

Very helpful folks!
I expend only one night here but I will be back soon!
Tent campers are fine anywhere... Class B, C, and smaller than 30ft trailers should be fine...
Anything larger than 30ft should inspect the site and plan the turns BEFORE going down the road or speak with the park staff before going to your site, some turns may be tighter than you think... Rigs over 40ft you better be a good driver, your options will be very limited.

Wonderful campground. Sites are grassy and the river offers several spots to swim and explore. The West River trail is super fun. If you go to Angel falls, there is a pool large enough to enjoy a swim.

Loved it both times. It's campground camping, but if you value your privacy at your site, I have to say it might be my favorite campground with that respect. I used tent sites both times. I have nothing negative at all to say about this place. Also, coming from central Massachusetts, it's a perfect mix of not being too far, and being far enough to feel "away." A+ no doubts.

One of my favorite campgrounds to stay at! Managed by the Army Corp. Of Engineers, Winhall Brook is always a great place to stay. The prices are fantastic and cheaper than almost every other campground I've been to, but don't expect any frills! Winhall is a very natural campground with most of the campground being dry camping, and only one section with electric. Showers are free so no need to bring quarters! While there make sure to enjoy the scenic trail to Angel Falls or take a trip into the local towns!

Great camping site with reasonable price (<$30 per night!). The south side is better than the north side with more room and privacy. Be careful that only portable restroom are available on the north side right now, the regular one with shower is out of service.

This is a great campground. There is a tight turn to get to the south loop on a one lane bridge. My truck and trailer are 50ft total and made the turn without having to square up but I swung very wide. It also works best to swing around the dump station to get in/out so you are not making a tight turn on the bridge. They will walk you through it when you arrive. The hosts were great and helped walk me through it and provided options for eating and grocery shopping.

We had an electric and water site S17. Sites are mostly grass. Ours had some gravel but not much. Because we were in the shade the grass was thin and there was some mud but that is what we have the outdoor carpet for. Neighbors were good and the grounds were pretty quiet. I ended up never using the showers as we had a wedding and there were other facilities available. I loved the location. The drive in was pretty and the view going into the campground is good. Several sites are along the stream but no power there. In the spring I would prefer those more but power is needed if you want to run my furnace overnight. I am not sure where you would get water other than the site because the south dump station did not have potable water. There are areas to get it but I dont know where they were.

Being in the valley there was not much cell service which was a plus for me. Vz sometimes worked and TMobile worked at the top of the hill. Sprint roamed on an extended network at the hill at the entrance. They also had wifi in the checkin they provided the password for but you will need to get it before they close.

We had friends in Jamica state park thos trip. They had more trees and shade but they liked this campground better because of better facilities for showers and restrooms.

This is a wonderful campground run by camper volunteers for the Army Corps of Engineers. It’s remote yet in a fascinating part of VT that was very fun to explore. We’re going back this summer. There is a tricky narrow bridge to cross to get to the south side of the river. Great nature trails to explore (not exactly a ‘hike’, due to the short length) and the campsites are large and roomy. Most are fully shaded. Lots to do in the area - Bromley Mountain has a days worth of activities for teenagers.
