My wife struggled with migraines for over 30 years. Multiple migraines per week. We exhausted every avenue of treatment until she crossed paths with one of the doctors 9 years ago. Doctor Amanda convinced us to give chiropractic care another try (my wife had been to multiple chiropractors over the years) and we are so glad that we did! Their intensive approach for migraine sufferers enabled my wife to go from multiple migraines per week to 1 migraine per month after a couple of months of care. A few years ago we celebrated a full calendar year with no migraines and she hasn't had one since! If you suffer from migraines, YOU NEED TO SEE THESE DOCTORS!

Nine years ago I was fortunate to run into Dr. Amanda at a networking event where she was speaking about the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge. I had suffered for over 30 years with debilitating migraines and had exhausted every type of care possible, but still suffered. After hearing her talk, I was so excited to speak with her after the event and immediately applied to become a patient. Well.... this simple conversation has changed my life! It only took a couple of treatments before my migraines started to lessen in intensity and frequency and now I have been completely migraine free for over 3 years! If you have migraines, give them a call.... what do you have to lose, except for some painful migraines!

I am not the type of person to ask for help or speak up when Im in pain. To be honest, I was driving home from church one day and I saw a sign for the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge. I was not very happy seeing that sign. When I got home, I wanted to look into it. I thought it was just another "run for the cure" type things. When I looked more into it, I was confused. It wasn't a race or any type of raising money. But it was a chiropractic office. I was interested in the little form that was there to get more information. I wanted to know what they knew. It was also surprising how quickly they got back to me. Here's a little about me incase you want to know how my mind works. I'm a 21 year old. I've been going to college for four years now. I have dealt with migraines since I was around 11 years old. I have family members who also get migraines. I had always assumed it was normal. Just the way life worked. The migraines held me back from being myself most of the time. Now I wasn't the type of person to give up and lock myself into a dark room. I pushed through every single one. I wasn't the happiest person back in high school. I had a hard time paying attention in almost all of my classes. I was petrified on being called on in classes. You could probably ask anybody I know or went to school with. After graduating high school, I had given up on the idea of getting rid of migraines. I had been to neurologists, head specialists, the er room multiple times for the migraines and the back problems I had. I felt like I was in my 60s. Not being able to enjoy what my friends wanted me to do. But trying to keep a happy face. I have been going to family chiropractic for the migraine challenge for around 2 months now. I have always been greeted by a smile and a warm welcome. Doctor Cotey Jordan has always told me how it is. There is no need for sugar coating or the need to lay in general. I used to get migraines 4 to 5 times a week. I am currently getting very small migraines maybe once a week. I think about what I have been through and how much I have changed already and I would recommend any and everyone to this place. I have been feeling so much better in the last couple months than I have in a very long time. I hope things work out for anyone who is looking for help the way I was. You are not alone.

Family Chiropractic has been a blessing! The frequency and duration of my migraines have decreased substantially. Thank you to the entire office staff - great people who truly care about their clients.

Upon beginning my journey, I was having migraines up to 9 times per month. Medication only decreased them to 4-5 per month. By my third month working with Family Chiropractic, I am having only 2 headaches per month and they have decreased in duration and intensity. Dr. Cotey, Dr. Amanda, and Dr. Marcus, as well as everyone else at the office are kind, respectful, compassionate and dedicated. A special thank you to Dr. Marcus, who does my adjustments, for always being positive, encouraging, gentle and caring even on my most difficult days.

No headaches this weekend! Wahoo!
Thanks Dr. Cotey for your awesome wisdom and hard work in figuring out how to get a handle on the inflammation that caused so much pain in my body, especially in my facial area.

Can’t recommend Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge and Family Chiropractic enough! The doctors and staff are not only friendly and knowledgeable but they have so much compassion for YOU. They take the time to explain the how’s and why’s of your body to you and the correct course of individual treatment. I haven’t taken a Motrin in months and I feel like I’m the best possible “me” I could be. It’s all thanks to the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge staff.

We have been patients for years and can't recommend this practice enough. We are especially grateful for their level of care and how wonderful they are with our children. We have a 4 year old and an 18 month old who have both been adjusted since only hours old and they now get adjusted on a weekly basis at minimum. Any time they are under the weather or something feels off such as their sleep or maybe they had a bad fall - Family Chiropractic is happy to fit us in for additional adjustments!

Family Chiropractic and the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge has changed my life! I have been to 6 different chiropractors in the last several years and they were the only ones to really target my migraines and explain why they were happening. I’ve been a teacher for 14 years and I can honestly say this is the first school year that I haven’t had to take any sick days for my migraines!! I want to thank Dr. Amanda, Dr. Cotey, and Dr. Marcus for giving me my life back!!

I’ve only been to a few chiropractors in my life and I have always been nervous and especially afraid to let any of them touch my neck. I could probably count on one hand how many times I’ve been adjusted in my life before coming to family chiropractic. From mine and my husbands first visit with doctor Cotey it was something we knew would be different. They use a technique where they do not use rotations like most chiropractors do when they are adjusting and each adjustment is based on what your body needs, not a one size fits all. The whole staff is wonderful and doctors Marcus and Amanda truly care about their patients. I even let Doctor Marcus adjust my neck, have continued to let them, and actually ENJOY it! My body is starting to get in tune when it’s out of place and I get relief as soon as it’s adjusted!

Definitely recommend Family Chiropractic to anyone and everyone! I was having migraines that scared me and having 3 young kids it wasn’t doable. I have been coming here for only a few months and felt a difference after the first couple visits. I haven’t had a migraine since! Was able to get back outside doing yard work with ease and playing with my kids!! Can’t thank them enough and the staff is always so positive and helpful!

Love this office! At only a month old, my daughter started favoring her right side of her head. She constantly laid that way and began forming a flat spot on her head. We brought this to the Dr's attention and they recommended that we start coming twice a week for a few weeks instead of only once. She had a mild case of torticollis. After just 4 weeks of regular adjustments as well as cranial adjustments, she stopped favoring her right side and the flat spot was gone!

8 and a half years ago I suffered a sports related concussion and traumatic brain injury which left me with daily unrelenting migraines. For 8 and a half years I was not 1 day headache free.
My entire life was turned upside down I felt like an observer to life as every event passed me by.
My doctors had no more suggestions or medications try and a vaccine left me with more severe headaches and I was giving up on ever finding relief.
When I found the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge I was skeptical but it has been a true blessing.
Dr. Amanda has been so wonderful and helpful, as well as Dr. Cotey and Dr. Marcus.
I recently had a neurology follow up and the neurologist was stunned at how well I am doing and said he has never seen me doing this well.
I am able to run every day again and participate in my life with rare headaches.
I am so thankful for these doctors and all of their continued help.

Two years ago, specialists told me that they were unsure what was causing my medical issues including, but not limited to, complex migraines, neurological symptoms and chronic pain. They said the symptoms would continue to worsen but they couldn’t do anything until then. At 40 years old, I was unsure if I would be able to continue to work and was in constant pain. A friend recommended Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge and it has been life-changing! My symptoms have decreased. My migraines are less frequent. And I am no longer in constant debilitating pain! The doctors are knowledgeable, listen to you and provide treatment & care tailored to you and your unique needs.

I joined the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge about four months ago. I'm in my thirties, and I've suffered from migraines/headaches since I was a child. The last several years they seemed to have gotten worse/grown in frequency. I tried seeing a neurologist a couple years back, and they prescribed me a med I ended up having a reaction to. Rather than try another one (a medication I wasn't comfortable taking to begin with), I relied solely on OTC medicine (Tylenol, ibuprofen, Excedrin) and I took them religiously - nearly daily. And the days where my head was terrible, several doses of a combination of the above. I had been researching new things to try when a friend of mine recommended Family Chiropractic and the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge.

I'd seen a chiropractor before, but Dr. Cotey and Dr. Amanda are different. The adjustments are highly specific, and they are knowledgable. The first time I met with Dr. Cotey, everything he said made total sense to me, and I loved the idea of trying something more "natural" as a solution. Four months in and I'm currently on a 10 day stretch without taking any kind of meds. This is huge considering how often I was taking ibuprofen/Tylenol. Most times I would suffer through a day or two of not taking any meds to try to give my body a break. But this stretch I'm currently on has been amazing. Any headache I have had has been pretty mild so that I don't even have to take anything for it. Every day I wake up wondering if this will be the day that I finally have a headache that needs medicine, but the fact that I've already had 10 days going without is huge! It's been years since I've gone this long without taking any kind of OTC. I'd gotten so used to having a daily headache that not having one feels strange. I have real hope that I'm on an upward trend, and they'll continue to get better.

My advice is if you suffer from migraines, get yourself into this program! The doctors are committed to helping you and working with you to get you feeling better, including modifying their methods. They're caring and compassionate, and I'm so appreciative for their help. I'm hopeful for the first time in years that I can live a life free of daily headaches/migraines.

Edited 5/3/22 - It's now been over a year that I've been getting adjusted at Family Chiropractic. I finished the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge and opted to stick with weekly adjustments - I can't argue with the results I'd gotten from doing the program and what an improvement it's made.

Since the beginning, I tracked my symptoms/headache days (days where I actually had to take some kind of OTC med) and today I just shared with Dr. Marcus that for the month of April I had 20 days without taking any kind of OTC meds. The 10 days I did take something...the majority of those were minor headaches that went away within a couple hours of taking Tylenol. Before I started seeing the docs at Family Chiropractic, that hardly ever happened. I could pop pills all day long and my headaches would never go away. I may still get headaches and the occasional migraine, but I can't argue that the frequency is way down from where it was. The fact that I can actually go days in a row without a headache and that when I do, it'll go away relatively quickly absolutely blows my mind. It's been a life changer. I'm able to enjoy myself more, not worrying as much about getting a headache and having it completely ruin my day. I'm better able to concentrate at work, be motivated to work out, etc.

I appreciate everything Family Chiropractic has done to help get me to this point! Again, if you suffer from headaches/migraines go see them. The entire staff is so caring and wonderful, and the results are life changing. At least they have been for me :)

The girls in the offices are first class. Dr. Marcus is always smiling and cheerful EVERY TIME I see him. Dr. Cody is very creative in treating patients. Both doctors are courteous, knowledgeable, always listen to my questions, always have answers and are understanding of home/work life. Couple of things I have taken so far is that: ICE is important to keep inflammation down and Everyone’s body is unique and Time and Routine heals the body.

Not sure if what I was suffering from was migraines necessarily, but I had a daily headache for 7 weeks during a UC flare, which is when I made the decision to join Family Chiropractic. Dr. Amanda and Dr. Cotey were very informative on how they would help me heal and also very encouraging during a time when I was down. I started getting adjusted regularly and the headaches were going away! Pretty soon I wasn’t having any at all! The decision to join Family Chiropractic has literally changed my life and I couldn’t be any happier with my care!

I started the Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge about 4 weeks ago. Prior to going I was getting migraines 18-22 days a month for 20+ yrs and EVERYDAY for 5 months straight prior to going to Family Chiropractic. I get botox and take shots to help. Obviously they weren’t helping. In 4 weeks of care I just hit a one week straight migraine free milestone!!! I must admit I was very skeptic. But am so glad I walked into that office and committed. I highly recommend any migraine sufferer to at least get a consultation. It is so worth it.

I have been going to Family Chiropractic for a little over a year, specifically for the migraine challenge and I could not be more happy with my decision to be apart of their care. Before I started I had migraines/headaches everyday for years, along with nausea and fatigue. Due to their passion and intelligence on the body, mind, spirit, and overall well-being, I now only have about one to two migraines a month and they are much shorter and less sharper than the ones I used to have. Not having to constantly fear a migraine everyday has empowered my life more than I could have ever imagined. My body is so much more stable than it has ever been and I rarely get nausea or fatigue. If you are a migraine sufferer, I highly recommend Family Chiropractic/Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge!

When I discovered this practice, I was in a very desperate situation. As a busy mother of five I had been suffering with excruciating and debilitating migraines. This is very hard to write, but it was affecting my children as they had watch their mama in so much pain on a consistent basis. This was not acceptable to me. I have experienced the horrors of migraines since the age of 14 years old and knew that something had to change. My husband and I researched different methods and ways to decrease the level of pain, none of which helped in my situation. The amount of defeat I felt was astronomical and I truly thought I was meant to live like this for the rest of my natural born life! Then hope was revealed through a friend, when she referred me to The Pittsburgh Migraine Challenge. I met with Dr. Cody who not only was the first professional ever to get to the root of my problems, but was very genuine in wanting to help me in understanding how to achieve real solutions! His wife, Dr. Amanda is incredibly knowledgeable and caring about each and every patient she treats. I knew this from the first time she gave me an adjustment. This power couple really goes above and beyond to get patients to their best health possible, by emphasizing a whole life approach. I learned from them that healing comes from the work we put in, for necessary changes to take place in our bodies. They are also treating my four year old son, whom has many delays and other issues. No doctor that he has seen over the years has bothered to get to his core reasoning for health decline. Dr. Cody and Dr. Amanda did, and expressing my gratitude through words does not seem like enough. If you get nothing else out of my testimonial, please remember these incredible professionals for your health and seek their guidance to get your life back!

Blessings of great health to all!
