I had a turkey burger, and my brother had the blackened salmon. The service was nice. The food was delicious.

I don't give many 5 stars, but once in a while I come across a place that is a step above the rest. I ordered a Ruben with fries and a beer. The Ruben had the perfect toast crunch just the right amount of meat to dressing ratio. Great Ruben taste, the fries were as Crispy as you could get without over cooking. Not your normal French fries much better. The bar tender John was super nice, talking to him he is a retired police officer of 30 years and so nice to talk to. Food came out quick and hot. I'm glad I had a nice cold beer on hand. Not often do I interact with the owners, but they were present in the bar talking to customers. It's nice to see hands on owners. Patty is one of the owners and turns out she volunteers at a local homeless shelter. How wonderful is that. Place is a old town pub and food is great, can't wait to try other items.

The burger and old bay fries were really good. I also enjoyed the local can of hard cider.

Visiting for the week from UK staying with my British bestie and she took me for cocktails and food. My first and best French Martini .. could have had way too many 💕🍸

We heard about the Continental’s rich history and role in the Underground Railroad and dropped in for lunch.

The staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. The wings are really great and the chicken pot pie was delicious.

The manager took us on an impromptu tour, and we were able to see the Underground Railroad safety room and the historic artifacts they excavated from the site.

Can’t wait to return!

This restaurant offers American staples that provide comfortable familiarity with a side of history. The Continental Tavern had several lives through it’s over 200-year history and one of those lives was as a stop on the underground railroad. After the hearty black & bleu burger with sweet potato fries that I had, Chris, the general manager was so kind to take me a tour of the building. In the basement you can see the original foundation and bricks that created the tunnels for the enslaved to escape to freedom via the Delaware River which is two miles from this location. It’s amazing how the former owners of this establishment were compelled to bring justice to the enslaved people that deserved to be free. During my visit, a local band was playing in the bar area and I was told that other events such as tarot readings take a place on a revolving basis. This is true gem in Yardley that everyone must visit for the food and history lesson.

We had a nice meal here. The food was good, service was quick, waitress was friendly and attentive. It would be nice to have a baby changing station however. Staff did accommodate us in a back room which we appreciated.

Our first time here and it won’t be our last! Food was so yummy and atmosphere was awesome!Victoria was our waitress and she was great! A very nice place!!

I really liked it here. My Continental burger was excellent. My friend thought the chicken pot pie was a little too liquid-y (saucy) but she ate most of it anyway!

It's a solid old ye tavern with solid food. Go with that in mind and you'll have a great ye old time.

Oh and everyone there has always been happy, cool and helpful.

Very nice casual dining spot. Stopped in for dinner with my wife and were both very pleased with both the food and atmosphere. Wait staff were very pleasant and attentive...we are planning to go back this week

Wings were delicious, grilled and meaty! Sandwiches were large...took half home! Great bar service!

Jessie was our server. I had the hot wings with 2 different beers. Rogue Dead Guy Ale & New Trail Broken Heels. Both were great. Every now and then just have your server to pick a beer for you. Or the next time just ask for Jessie to pick for you. Thanks Continental Tavern and Jessie for a great time. The Texan.

If you want a laid back enjoyable experience with a moody atmosphere, then you should come here. The food is amazing, which did take me a little by surprise just how amazing because the menu is a lot of your typical American bar classics. I would caution on bringing smaller children here since the sit down area is smaller, but it is family friendly which I appreciate. Definitely try the chefs specials, I got to have the best salmon burger I’ve ever tried. We will be back again soon!

Stopped here after hiking on the Delaware Canal Trail for a late lunch and a beverage. Yardley being one of my favorite small town areas for its culinary eating experiences. We had lunch at the bar area and were greeted as soon as we entered and our beverage order was taken immediately along with our food order after a brief look at their menu. I ordered the millionaire Mac n cheese which was made with rigatoni and bacon bits blend of cheeses with a panko crust. The rigatoni really sets it apart from other Mac n cheese. My friend had chicken salad on rye with a delicious handcrafted wheat beer and I had my usual Guinness pint. The bathrooms have framed photos with great advice and pieces of history. Looking forward to returning for a lunch on the outdoor front porch or an inside table dinner.

Great local spot with a TON of history! Large portions are well worth it! Ask for a tour of the basement!

Just had a beautiful high school graduation lunch in the upstairs room. Delicious food, outstanding service for the 15 of us in a cozy historic setting. The spring salad with strawberries was perfect. Next time I hope to dine on the outside porch- with fewer friends of course!! Thank you for helping to make this day special!
