Everyone I came in contact with was really nice and attentive. My brother stayed on the 9th floor, His Pct name was Badia! I’m just going to say her heart is in her job! Patient, friendly and smiles with her eyes because of her mask. Thank you for taking care of my Bro y’all

Certainly cannot know everything
Put everyone top to bottom are compassionate caring knowledgeable helpful on my stay
Oh! And they have the best crunchy ice:

This ice has a firm temperature range, not too cold not too hot with a Smokey not clear appearance as if the tiny bobbles as if captured and encased in ancient glaciers now long gone
Seems to mix the terroir of both the skyuikill and Delaware rivers well
Without too much tailpipe essence
Ready to crunchy now
Recommend over cranberry juice

I have been seeing Dr. Goral in nephrology at Penn since 2018 for poly cystic kidney disease. In 2022 my condition worsened and I was told I would need a kidney transplant. The process was smooth, including visits to the Penn Transplant center at Reading Hospital where I now see nephrology since it is closer to home.
I went active on the list in August of 22 and received my call in the very early morning hours February 28, 2023.
I cannot be more impressed with the staff and care that I experieinced from the very first security guard that we met at 3:15 am upon arrival to the transport to the car when it was time for me to go home 3 days later.
The new hospital is super high tech and I was lucky to have a beautiful view of the Philadelphia Skyline from my bed. The sunrise was amazing the morning after surgery, the first day of my new healthier life!
My time in pre-op was made comfortable by nurse anesthetists Dana and Sarah, I was not nervous at all and everything was explained to me as they went through it. OR nurse, sorry do not remember his name was super comforting and Dr. Redfield was the best.
The nurse in recovery allowed my husband and aunt to stay and see me before they left for the evening, even though it was after visiting hours by the time my surgery was complete. This was comforting to us all, I would not have wanted to wake up without them there to greet me.
Every person who came into my room was polite and very happy to answer any questions I had and explain what to expect.
A special thanks as well to Casey on the surgery team for taking amazing care of me at all my post op appointments.
I am slowly transitioning all my care to Penn physicians and can't say enough about all of them so far. I would recommend any transplant patient to check out Penn for their care!

My wife was admitted here after Nazareth was unable to treat her complex condition. The staff here was wonderful. It took a bit for them to work around her daily health routine of meds, insulin, etc... but they did their best.

What an amazing hospital and wonderful employees. Shout out to Thea from Housekeeping on Rhodes 3rd floor - my daughter was on that floor after thyroid cancer surgery and Thea made such an impression with her kindness to us and so many other patients on the floor. Bravo Thea!! We need more people like her in this world.

I’m here now as we speak, everything from facility to staff to techs/nurses/doctors are EXCELLENT
Don’t listen to the bad reviews
The ER process was fast, the younger generation of doctors here actually listen to the patients and want to heal and give care. I’ve been to the other big Univ. hospitals and UPENN literally is THE BEST.

I have been here since September 12 the nurses have been very respectful and helpful despite them finding a cause for my symptoms. The doctors the same even though I was frustrated that they weren't taking care of my pain I understand why so thank you Siobhan and Israt for being patient with me. Room 1172 currently a patient. Also Justin my second shift nurse has been amazing thank you for everything.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer and was referred to Dr. Rebecca Fishman. From the moment I met her, she put me and my husband at ease by explaining exactly what was needed to get me healthy again. Once I was in for surgery, her team was the most caring and compassionate group of professionals with whom I have ever dealt. I can't thank Dr. Fishman, and her tea, enough for taking such wonderful care of me. Candy Vecere

Everyone we came into contact during my mothers surgery and recovery in the hospital were fantastic. Response time, care and customer service were all 5 stars. The nurses went above and beyond helping my mother every step of the way from admission to discharge. big shout out to the nurses Christina and Jenna in the recovery area. All nurses should strive to provide the level of care that they provide. They got into nursing for all the right reasons and you can see that their hearts are in the right place.

Thank You again to everyone at HUP!

My daughter was delivered here on 1/24/19.
One of the happiest moments in me and my fiancee life.

The staff was great and the hospital took really good care of my family. My daughter has now grew up into a lil lady like her Mommy. I'm forever grateful for the professionalism and kindness we were shown.

Thank you.🙏🏿

11th floor staff went above an beyond when my father was on hospice. They were wonderful towards him, my mom and my family.
I really wish I got the name of the nurse and the nurses aide when I was there, so I could recognize them

This is one of the best hospital in PA. My dad’s life was saved here. Everyone from this institution from doctors to parking garage personnel are respectful, helpful, and kind. We had the best experience here every time I bring my dad in for any service. Five stars is not enough to rate how great this place is. Big “THANK YOU” to all healthcare staffs for everything that you do!!

When I first heard about this Hospital, I could just feel the friendliness as my parents and I walked through the front door for the first time back in the year 2012 where my dad had major surgery done. Let me tell you, the care that he received was awesome! Not only that they cared for him, they cared for us as well Carrie Ann the nurses, specialist, surgeons, and doctors we're so down to earth and yes, we felt right at home. We were even offered free meals because they knew our situation. If anybody is looking for a hospital that makes you feel right at home, University of Pennsylvania Hospital is the number one hospital that will definitely save your life and and also to continue living a wonderful life as well.

There are some of the most caring and helpful nurses and doctors in the profession are located in this hospital! Seems like the pandemic has made things in the emergency room a lot smoother. People are seen faster and taken care in a more orderly fashion. At least that's what I noticed from my last visit. They were following the safety guidelines and taking all measures required to need everyone protected.

Back in March of 2021 I had Open Heart Surgery consisting of a 7 Hr. Procedure to replace my bad Aortic Valve and 3" section of Ascending Aorta. Am not sure if I wrote a review since then...BUT...HERE IT GOES! I grew up about 15 mins up the river from this Hospital but for last 38 yrs have been living about 2 hrs away in Schuylkill CO, PA.
I had a Choice of a few Hospitals but after visiting Dr Bavaria / Staff and Facilities the 1st time (which was actually the 2nd Hospital / Surgeon I consulted with) I knew I HAD TO LOOK NO MORE! Just as my Cardiologist stated a yr earlier "He is THE BEST IN HE WORLD" I soon started to see why? Instead of a 1 person (Surgeon) Consultaion consisting of only .5 Hr at my Local Hospital...You get TRIPLE TEAMED
by (1st) Nurse Practitioner, (2nd) Fellow Assistant Surgeon...AND...(3rd) Dr Bavaria! After the ONE AND A HALF HOUR Consultation...they really give a feeling of "WE GOT YOUR BACK" Confidence!!! THEY'RE THE BOMB!!! (THANKS GUYS/GALS)
Just as a few others have stated above...it starts with the Friendly Courteous Guard Staff outside around the Hospital, Everywhere else inside / around...right up to your Doctor's Office...That all familiar feeling of "THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE" (which somehow surprisingly through the decades has not lost that FEEL!) Contrary to what I've seen 1 or 2 other reviews say...This place is WELL ORGANIZED starting with my Phone Calls (from 2 hrs away), on through every Vist, Testing, through Surgery/Recovery...and on up to my 2nd and last Follow Up Visit!!! This Institution also follows a STRICT CLEANLINESS Routine!
My Surgery was a HUGE SUCCESS making me feel Better than before...AND...as I said to the Nurse Practioner at my Last Visit..."I will continue to go to my Local Doctors...BUT...If I have to go to the Hospital for something Half Way Serious... IT'LL BE DOWN THERE AT U. of P.
