One of the best cake shops in State college. Good variety of cupcakes which includes choices of Gluten free.
They do get busy so it's better to order cakes 3 days to a week in advance.
Service is friendly.
My favorites are Chocolate cake and Tiramisu.

I was thoroughly impressed with the desserts! I went specifically for gluten free and gluten free, vegan options. I was so surprised to see how many options there were. The place itself was really cool in design, and set up was great. Both the gluten free and gluten free, vegan options were really good! The cupcakes were not dry at all, and the sweetness was perfect (not too sweet and full of flavor). Pricing was good for the type of desserts. All in all, definitely recommend, and I will be going back to try more options!

They changed their vegan cupcakes to gluten free! Cannot wait to go back and get more, they are scrumptious! Cannot tell the difference and it is finally within all of my tolerances!!

I received cupcakes for my birthday. They were so good!

The cupcakes are delicious! Their muffins and scones are our favorite breakfast treats! A delicious blueberry muffin for breakfast makes Monday morning more palatable:-)

We've regularly gone here through the years and always had a good experience, both for the cupcakes and the service.

We love Dolce Vita! We usually drop in monthly for cupcakes, and have special ordered a butter cream based birthday cake as well as a peanut butter pie.

Their staff are friendly and they have a wide variety of treats here. I really appreciate that they carry both dairy free and gluten free cupcakes!

Beautiful . Ordered for my daughter's birthday and it was incredibly delicious! The only complaint I have and minor was her name was spelled wrong..she is Ashlea. But no one noticed. Will order again!

We had two birthday celebrations last weekend for a group of 50 Penn State alumni. One night was for a 60th birthday, the other night was for a 30th birthday. All I can say is WOW! Both gluten free cakes far exceeded our expectations. Not only were the spectacular cakes the centerpiece of our parties, but they were the most delicious cakes we've ever had. Because we were coming from out of town, all communications were via email, and they made it so easy for us to place our orders. One cake was chocolate with buttercream icing and peanut butter filling, the other cake had raspberry filling. Equally good. I highly recommend this bakery if you are looking for something truly special!

The gluten free cupcakes are soooo delicious. Always moist and never gritty. I would eat one every day if I could. The gluten red velvet with cream cheese frosting are the best.

Large variety of pastries and confectionery delights. In all honesty it was the best cupcake I've ever had. The premium Alabaster Coffee was a real perk. The bakery has a clean and inviting aesthetic. Friendly staff who were very attentive. This is the best bakery in town.

Whoever is in charge at Dolce Vita needs to know about an excellent employee there. The gentleman who works there named 'Anthony' is wonderful at good customer service. In regards to my dilemma with an order I placed online, he went out of his way to help resolve it for me, which was truly appreciated. He was kind on the phone, patient, understanding, and promised to call me back after he was going to see what he could do to help. He followed through with his promise to promptly call me back, and he ended up working out a solution for me. Thank you so much Anthony!

I don't love any bakery more than Dolce Vita. I love chocolate cakes and having highly sensitive taste buds and sense of smell, in most of the other cakes, I can feel the eggs in the cakes. But not in Dolce Vita's cakes - they are just the best moistest cakes. For my husband's phd defense, they were very kind to accommodate my request and the cake was just as expected. There was a spelling mistake in the name but that's ok. The cake was neatly decorated and ofcourse delicious! Previously, we have also ordered cake pops from them for my birthday and they too were so yum! I keep coming back to them and frankly, if you believe me, don't even bother going any place else if you're looking for the perfect cake for your occasion.

My sisters ordered my birthday cake here. We had the salted caramel chocolate cake and it was delicious! Would highly recommend trying the desserts here.

Our family LOVES Dolce Vita, sparkling clean, comfortable and delicious. The staff and owners are knowledgeable friendly and professional. After picking up some anniversary goodies and cupcakes for my wife, my office manager mistakenly swiped a cupcake. Initially I was annoyed, but she picked up some vegan cupcakes to make up for the indiscretion. Though not a vegan personally, I tried them and was absolutely blown away.

We love Dolce Vita Desserts! Since owner Mary Hilliard provided all the dessertsfor our daughter's wedding in 2010, DVD has-been our go-to place for birthdays, baby showers, special events and more. You will never want any other baked goods once you've tried Dolce Vita. Their signature boxes and tulle bows are so recognizable that when I took a box of goodies to my physicians office as a thank you for outstanding care, her response was "Ooh I know that box! How thoughtful of you!"

This place is dangerous! The cupcakes are too good and my waist line has suffered! All joking aside, the cake items are great. The macaroons could be better and it would be nice to have "low cal" or sugar free options so I could come back more often, :)
