Fantastic 911 hospital in Centre County. The front desk staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the facility is super clean and they have access to the latest technology.
Dr. Ervine was my Airedale, Winnies primary veterinarian. Each time she treated her as she aged Dr. Ervine was transparent and explained blood work results and helped manage her severe arthritis pain. When an x-ray revealed that Winnie had osteosarcoma she was kind, clear and direct providing options. We ultimately chose to send our girl out on a high note as to not let her suffer one bit. Dr. Granite was professional and amazingly caring as we said goodbye to Winnie. They have a beautiful room set aside from the hospital that is private and Winnie felt comfortable and at peace. We sincerely thank ALL of the staff at Metzger. ❤

I can’t thank the staff and doctors enough for their actions and dedication to saving my dog, Weller. On Christmas weekend, the staff never stopped and never showed any inclination that Weller wasn’t their top priority. The pricing was consistent with what they consulted me on initially with my visit. Although I hope that my dog will never be sick again, I find comfort in knowing the team at Metzger is there when we need them.

We took our cat Simba here after he was hit by a car, and everybody was absolutely amazing and the most caring vets/techs I have ever met. As this was a very hard time for us, they were so comforting and thorough and made us feel so much better. Our cat is fine thankfully ❤ they took such good care of him. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Metzgers is a facility full of angels. I arrived with my dog Piggy today, terrified, seeking emergency care. From the moment I walked in, they were kind, patient, and so considerate. We were seen immediately (thanks to free space in the schedule) and they provided great care for my boy. We were in and out within a couple hours. I am so thankful for their facility! Would definitely recommend Metzgers to anyone looking for normal or emergent care.

I recently had an experience with this place over the weekend. My cat, Oliver, was having some issues and I wasn't sure what to do or if it was an emergency. I called and they were so nice and advised me to come in.

When I arrived, everyone was so friendly. The doctor and nurses were so patient as I asked a million questions and were willing to explain everything to me. The following day, he was still having issues and I called in as I was worried and again, they were so friendly and compassionate. They listened to my concerns and told me to call back anytime I have any questions or worries about his recovery.

As someone who hasn't dealt with an animal needing emergency services before, this was the best experience I could have thought to have. They even followed up with me on Monday to check on him and see how he was doing. I wish I lived closer to be able to use them for regular veterinary care! I highly recommend going here.

We are so thankful for the emergency and surgical care our three-year-old cat received at Metzger's last year. He had multiple urinary obstructions in a short time and ultimately underwent PU surgery with Dr. Koshko. Everyone we dealt with there was compassionate, we had all our questions answered, and our sweet cat boy is thriving a year later.

I have read complaints about expensive bills at Metzger's, and I don't disagree; we paid a lot of money for our cat's care there. That said, every estimate Metzger's gave us, at each step in the adventure from initial obstruction to post-surgical care, was an overestimate (i.e., we ended up paying less than they quoted). Also, I believe the high cost was consistent with the quality of care our cat recveived. We have since moved and our new vet made a point of saying they could tell the PU surgery was performed by a vet who was very skilled in that area.

All in all, I would recommend Metzger's for emergency veterinary care for cats.

I recently had an exceptional experience at VCA METZGER Animal Hospital with my dog Toby. When Toby started experiencing urinary issues, I was worried and called VCA at 5:30 am on a Sunday morning. They immediately instructed me to bring him in. From the moment we arrived, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the level of care Toby received. Dr. Griffith was truly amazing, providing expert attention and genuine compassion and always making Toby a top priority. The front staff was also outstanding - pleasant, friendly, I cannot express how satisfied I am with the care Toby received at VCA METZGER. The prices were comparable to what I was quoted on the phone when I called. I feel they went above and beyond, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of exceptional veterinary services.

These people are amazing in every way possible! I came home to find my cat injured and after calling my regular vet and waiting an hour for a call back, I decided we could not wait anymore. I called Metzger and when we arrived they whisked him away to work on him. The staff were very friendly polite and compassionate in every way! I can not recommend these people enough or praise them enough for what they have done for us! I will never go anywhere else.

VCA Metzger exceeded my expectations. My dog was extremely sick. Dr. Koshko performed 2 surgeries and saved my dogs life.

We were checked in and attended to promptly. Diagnostics were thoroughly performed. Risk and expectations were clearly and gently explained. Surgery was executed flawlessly.

My dog was very anxious and depressed after being away from us. They accommodated and encouraged us to visit and gave us all the tools to take him home. Each day my phone calls were returned and I was able to speak to the doctor. They took time for me and my pet. On our last day, they were full and dealing with an emergency surgery and they were still patient and took time to answer all our questions. I always knew my dog was a priority.

I’m so thankful we went to VCA when we did.

Yesterday I adopted a happy healthy pup, at least thats what I was told. Within 30 minutes of getting home he proved to be very ill. He was struggling to breathe properly, was completely lethargic, refused to eat, and wouldn't use the bathroom. I took him to one hospital over night but they closed in the morning and I needed to transport him here. after all the bills, I was working on a tight budget. They were amazing in helping me stay in budget. I dropped my puppy off at 9 am and picked him up at 6pm. By then he was a whole new puppy. He was scarfing down food, running around, and happy as can be. I am so grateful for the doctors and staff here. They answered all of my questions, walked me through his home care and medicine routine, and could not have been more kind. Endless praises to the staff <3

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place. I had to bring my husky from Bedford for emergency visit and everyone at this vet was absolutely wonderful. Tyler was so great in letting me know all the details about my dog and everything in the facility is so clean and updated. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring my dogs here again.

I found a cat that had been hit by a car and call Metzgers. I talked to Claudia on the phone and she was extremely professional and so very kind. She said to bring the cat over and unfortunately the cat needed to be euthanized but she was an absolute sweetheart and comforting. Thank you so kindly..

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with this animal hospital. Our 6 month old pup, Rooster, started with a severe rash a few months ago that progressed aggressively over the course of 4-6 weeks. We brought Rooster there after he stopped showing interest in eating, drinking, and wasn’t acting himself despite the course of antibiotics he was on. We ended up having to take him several times to the animal hospital with two overnight stays including IV hydration, pain medication, and antibiotics. The staff (vets and vet techs, etc.) were all so compassionate, thorough, and loved Rooster. They did everything they could to treat him and figure out the root cause of the infection. Unfortunately, the infection was resistant to all of the antibiotics and didn’t respond to the treatment. Ultimately, we had to make the tough decision to put our Rooster down after a month of him suffering through different treatments.

From the first time we brought our pup there to be seen to having to put him down, and even after—everyone was SO supportive and kind. They talked us through absolutely everything and even helped us out cost wise by taking everything into consideration when discussing a treatment plan for him (because we all know that animal hospital bills aren’t inexpensive lol).

He loved going to the animal hospital, where most animals typically hate to go. He loved the staff and would be a “wiggle butt” when he was greeted at the reception desk despite all that was going on with him.

After we had to put him down, the hospital has reached out to us several times to make sure we’re doing ok and sent out a card with kind words to our family. I seriously cannot thank the staff enough for everything they’ve done for us through this difficult few months. They have absolutely no idea how much it’s helped us heal knowing he was loved by everyone who took care of him.

I have a very anxious, nervous lab with severe trust issues. The staff did a WONDERFUL job at making her comfortable. In fact, I’ve never seen her so at ease in an unfamiliar setting, let alone a vet. They were so kind to my dog and myself & they were very thorough, yet quick. They made such a stressful situation bearable. I couldn’t thank them enough. One porcupine quill removed from her mouth later, and she was resting at home in under two hours.

The staff here is so nice. Our beautiful girl Angel needed surgery on her right rear leg. Dr. Rider was wonderful. We did end up getting terrible news, we found out our girl has a rare aggressive Cancer. But Dr. Rider explained all our options and answered any questions we had. If I would call with questions he would return my call within a few hours. He was so sorry that he had to give us this news. It is so hard to handle, but we will cherish every moment that we have left with our beautiful Angel. Again thank you to all to all the wonderful staff, an especially Dr. Rider.

Aug 21st I called and explained that my dog needed to be seen. Without hesitation they seen her, and diagnosed her with diabetes. All the other animal hospital in PA were not considering her as a "emergency ", so they would not see her. This was the ONLY vet hospital that cared! I have not been blessed with a human child of my own yet, so God blessed me with my very own first dog of a 11 years now. She's my baby! The care they showed towards her was so much appreciated, they answered all my questions without hesitation, they even took the time to show me how to give my dog her insulin shots. It was a wait, but I totally understood that. Also the price was obviously expected with it being a hospital. I appreciate them so much. I recommend them to anyone!

I cannot say enough positive about this hospital. Staff were very friendly, informative and good with our dog! Loved that we got to speak directly with the doctor before and after surgery.

So thankful for Dr. Gonzales and the team at Metzger Animal Hospital. They helped us at the end of life for our dog and we couldn’t have asked for more compassionate staff.

We’ve called upon them twice for our older Dalmatian first incident was roughly 3.5 years ago they no doubt saved our dog within hours they diagnosed his issues which were severe and life threatening unfortunately he was a puppy mill dog but we absolutely love him to death and yesterday he had issues from his new heart medication they treated him just as good as the first visit there
