Free Spirit Campground

This place is one of the most beautiful, best kept secrets I have ever seen. It's peaceful, relatively quiet, depending on the time of year and day or night.
The scenery is absolutely stunning, the staff are phenomenal, and overall, this is just a great little place for a weekend getaway, or an extended visit.
Once you are here, you never want to leave!

We stayed at the Birdsong Cabin this past weekend and it was a great experience. The cabin is very nice and modern. It has two bathrooms which is very nice for 4 people. There is a nice deck with a great view that we enjoyed. We would definitely go back.

This place is an awesome hidden gem... All the complaints are bogus especially the one about hitting a tree.. obviously the person trying to park you camper should have stayed home. Sure it's not a thousand trails campground.. but who would want it to be? Been there done that my whole life. Everyone here looks out for another and that's the way it should be. So if this isn't your cup of tea... keep on trucking and good luck finding what your looking for..

Birdsong cottage at the Free Spirit Campground is the perfect cabin getaway! Located on the perfect plot near the campground entrance and a short walking distance to the pool, nature trails, and general store. We loved waking up and enjoying breakfast on the large deck, as well as tossing a frisbee in the backyard by the firepit. Everything you need in a kitchen is included with the rental. The cottage is super open and welcoming! Just a short drive to downtown Carlisle and Dickinson College! Very convenient to Harrisburg, and the Appalachian trail.

We had a great time visiting with friends. Such a scenic place for a quiet getaway. Nice trails for walking and picture taking. There's a pool and playground for the kids too.

Awesome experience here, everyone is so friendly and helpful! The cabins are amazing and seem like they are freshly renovated.

Went to an event called Hippie fest. Great bands and food. Very laid back location and just an all around good experience.

We rented a cabin here to attend the local music festival. The staff here is terrific and very attentive not to mention the wonderful view of the Appalachian mountain.

Just spent the weekend at Free Spirit. My Fiancé and I loved it so much we plan on going back every chance we get. The owner and staff were so kind. I recommend this campground one hundred percent! 💗

Tranquility and the natural beauty of the mountains are what I enjoyed most when visiting this campground. Lots of hiking trails with benches and deer feeders to enjoy the wildlife. Very accommodating staff.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at one of there tent sites with electric n water for 35 a night it was very relaxing n we had that area to ourselves(assuming cuz season wasnt fully open) they had a few trails which we didnt get a chance to try out but thought it was a great option we are looking at buying one of the rvs they have for sale on a permanent lot (through private sales)we thouroughly enjoyed the tranquillity of it and look forward to returning in the the near future and bringing friends ty for such a great first time experience
