We stopped by on a road trip and felt right at home, thank you!
Knowledgeable, kind, and creative, Candace and James are the best! I wasn't sure exactly how to configure my setup....they gave great feedback and provided beautiful, functional, ethically made gear. The sturdy Fifth Season Squall sack carries the whole day's adventures, snapping into the Wald basket like a reliable friend. The Kinnickinnick sack is handy for snacks, tools, and perovskya. The saddlecover cinches well, protecting my leather saddle from the rains. Stripey wool tape feels wonderful and supports the pirate vibe, very important...we sealed the ends on with linen twine and beeswax, very very satisfying.

The Fifth Season goods are seventh heaven....so pretty and strong and well made, and they just plain work.

Thanks for bike joy!

The Tanglefoot Hardtack is one of those bikes that does what it's supposed to so well that it makes you question your other bikes. I stopped in Analog just satisfy my curiosity about what I had seen/read on the interwebs about their bikes and components. I didn't want to buy another bike. But after taking the Hardtack out for one ride, it haunted me so much I bought it and wound up selling some other bikes. If you want a bike that handles all kinds of roads, from smooth to mangled garbage, consider this bike. But don't believe my hype, if you can swing it, go visit Analog, have a chat, go ride one of their bikes. If you're lucky, you might wind up finding a bike to whispers to you each and every time you get on it.

James and Candace take the idea of a bike shop to a whole new level - from the minute you talk to them, you feel like family. Extremely knowledgeable, willing to work through my millions of (probably stupid) questions, and then even took me for a ride afterwards. I wish there were a way to recommend them more - truly the best bike shop experience I've ever had, every time I go there.

The team at Analog Cycles is amazing! They are the most knowledgeable and helpful people in the bike world.

James was super patient as we went through the "enlightened fitting" process, he painstakingly measured all the distances of my bikes when I came in and little by little modified the saddle height, stem and handlebar to find the perfect fit for me and my Rivendell bikes.

He went out with me multiple times to see my posture as a I was riding next to him and after many iterations we got the perfect match in a super short stem with high handlebars and a higher than I would've though saddle. The result is just outstanding, I now feel completely connected with my bikes.

The other thing that surprised me is how many items and rare parts they stock in their little bike shop hidden in the woods! They've got a bunch of Rivendell frames and other cool bikes right there. Also, I couldn't believe it when they pulled a box with the exact part that I was missing for my Nitto rack.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Candice did an amazing job with my handlebars, bags, tape and shellac - she's truly an artist. I saw her wiring up another beautiful bike and her attention to detail is incredible - you can see her work in their Instagram feed.

They are really passionate about what they do and it shows - both went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the results. If you happen to be in Vermont, you should stop by.

I would 100% recommend Tanglefoot bikes. I have a Hardtack that I just rode across the country and I didn't have a single mechanical issue, not even a flat tire! Super quality bikes and awesome people. Thank you!

My boyfriend and I were touring and I had a flat tire. We stopped in town, we were helped and able to buy a tire and pursue our trip. The service was so great, the bikes are beatiful and we had a nice chat about bikes and travels. Thanks again to analog for helping us :)
Also, we had so many offers for help in that town, very nice people.

Analog has GREAT gear - and James really knows how to fit a bike to the rider. You will have bike that fits you anatomically and has the correct components for the terrain you ride.

Plus, the ride scene in the Poultney vicinity is fantastic. No matter what you want you'll find it there - VT Class 4 roads, rail trail, country roads and the Slate Valley MTB network.

Go and enjoy

I’ve never built a bike before and certainly never thought of driving 3 hours to pick a bike up, who does that? Well a friend told me about James and Candice at Analog and said they are the best fitters and mechanic around. So I drove up to talk to them and see what to do with my bike that I just couldn’t get right. I was ready to buy a frame and build a bike but didn’t know much about building bikes. After some coffee and conversation, James rode with me and made some recommendations. After giving James an idea of how and where I ride and my budget, he gave me some ideas for a frame and set up. Over the next week or two I researched, asked James a bunch of questions and slowly picked out my components. I was not totally sure of the colors and how they would match so I gave Candice as much artistic freedom as she wanted. I woke up early this morning (after a car break down last night) and headed out wondering how it could possibly meet my expectations. As soon as I saw the bike I was blown away. Everything tied together perfectly and the details were amazing. I took it for a short ride and shouldn’t be surprised that the fit was almost perfect. To be fair I was going to use my own saddle but they put a beautiful Brooks B17 Special on for a few pictures. After Candice dropped the nose a hair it for like a glove and I added the saddle to the build!

If you want a well thought out bike, with great advice and no pressure that will not only look amazing but fit perfectly and ride like a dream...go to Analog. If there were 10 stars they would have gotten all 10 as I’m so impressed!

Thanks Candice and James!

Thinking I was up for a 25-35 mile bike ride after purchasing a bike only a few weeks ago, I made the decision to give it a try. I met Candace for a ride-along event that Slate Valley Trails had promoted. Her and another woman showed up and we rode the many trails just a few miles from my house. They set a reasonable pace and offered me many tips and tricks for maneuvering the hills. I was impressed with her acumen and then found out she owned a bike shop just down the road!

Upon visiting the shop, we quickly customized my bike to better navigate the expanding mountain bike trails and she was able to help acquire the accessories I was looking for.

Great people to do business with, off-the-grid, and comfortable with their bicycling passion.

Looking forward to continued business as I grow as a rider!

After corresponding via email with Analog cycles they were able to create a custom wiring solution for my new dynamo light system! James and Candice made it a delightful, pain free experience and shipped it across the country to me! Very pleased!

Bought a used demo bike from them online through PinkBike, and it was in mint condition, just as described. They did an expert job boxing it up on a Friday, and it received the next Tuesday.

Super happy with the bike and responsiveness of the owners. Can't wait to make a trip up to VT so I can visit in person!

Amazing, funny, kind these experts will suffer none of the foolishness of the tech trendy bike world nor will they suffer the laziness of the retro grouch, instead forging their own Vermont path to cycling legend— THE BEST!!!

Analog Cycles went well out of their way to try to locate a frameset for me. I feel bad that it didn't work out considering how long they tried. I will always be checking their stock going forward.
