Dr. Roslyn T. Varki, MD

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Varki. She is great with kids and parents. Incredibly responsive in her communication. Highly highly recommend!

She is calm and very attentive. She patiently listened to us and understood the problem. My 3 year old liked her a lot.

We were there for a really simple, not too complicated reason for my daughter but she still took the time and was so friendly to both my daughter and I. She explained everything really well and simply, and just sounded super knowledgeable. All around a great experience, would 100% recommend.

Not only is she so charming and engaging with my son, she also got excellent results.

In a discussion about potential serious side effects of a medication, Dr. Varki belittled a child who had killed themselves and mocked and belittled the parents of that child. Rather than educating us about warning signs to watch out for, she downplayed the deadly serious risk and exhibited a total lack of awareness about mental health issues, both in the world at large and in the room.

About less serious questions about topical medicines and the functions of different ingredients, Dr. Varki was unable or unwilling to discuss the reasons for her recommendations, insisting only that "this is how I was trained and all I can do is tell you how I was trained." If you're looking for a doc who can help you understand the hows and whys of your options, Dr. Varki is not a good choice.

She is, on the surface, warm and friendly, and we'd been glad to be seeing her at first. Her inability to talk about "why" was frustrating, but I get that not everyone wants to get into the in-depth details or necessarily has them at their fingertips. However, her total lack of awareness of the severity of mental health issues and how they could be exacerbated by the medicines she prescribes is shocking, as was hearing a physician mock a family that lost a child.
