El Toro Barbacoa

This place is awesome! The owners have created a welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied and the food is delicious! Both times I've been there we had great service and mouthwatering food! Reasonable prices, too!

As a Texan, loved the tacos (ordered The Sampler) and salsa!!! The Tres Leches cake was more like Dos Leches, lacking in caramel or cajeta. It was still good though. Would have liked some strawberries or blackberries. Will definitely be coming back soon!

This place was great. The food was very good, extremely flavorful. Plus they had Glass Animals playing on the stereo system. 5 stars! Could have been 6 stars if we were able to sit at the bar... The lunch/dinner menu is great, but the brunch is also super tasty. 10 out of 10 for the breakfast hash with brisket. Ask for the homemade hot sauce to kick it up a level.

Found this place accidentally. What a wonderful surprise! Ordered a few items, everything was seasoned beautifully with the right herbs and spices. The presentation of the food way appealing and the service was attentive.
We are definitely going back to this hidden gem.

Fantastic fusion of barbecue and Mexican. The nachos are definition a shareable size! Make sure you order the guacamole, BEST I've ever had!!!

My go to is the brisket cheesesteak. Melts in your mouth.

The taco sampler is another way to find a flavor you like if you've never been here, all the tacos are fantastic.

Super friendly staff, and great owners! Emily and Gabe turned the previous business's building (the Barn Door) into a great place to eat full of flavor.

We finally ordered from El Toro and wow, was it incredible! We shared classic nachos, my husband had the burrito and I had a life-changing brisket cheesesteak. Holy lord, it was incredible! Would absolutely recommend. My daughter had a side of Mac and cheese and it was delicious too! Fresh flavors and expertly crafted, can’t wait to come back. Go to here! Eat ALL the things!

Went for lunch with a friend who lives in the area. We wanted a place where we could visit and have a great meal. This was the first place that my friend thought of. Was he ever right.With all the hardship that Covid has created over the past year and a half, we can only marvel at the fortitude that these owners must possess.
The restaurant has a warm and rustic feel. We were greeted by one of the owners. The chef ( also an owner) came to our table to talk with us about the menu and his approach to the food. We had the smoked brisket with cheese and fried onion. It was served with the absolute best fries I have had in quite a while. The combination of the meat, cheese, onions and a perfect bun was fantastic. If you are going anywhere near Lancaster, look this restaurant up on your phone. It’s only minutes away from all the attractions. You will not be disappointed. It is a BYOB.

I am giving this restaurant 5 stars because ALL of the important parts for me were great. The food here is so tasty and authentic. My husband and I got to try a lot of it and I have no complaints about any of it. The brisket is amazing. The rice and beans are seasoned great. The salsas and nachos are flavorful. It's just a really good place to eat if you want authentic Mexican barbeque. The front of the house still needs polishing as far as flow BUT they are kind and courteous.They are still new and work very hard to make everyone happy. Trust me, if you have to wait a little while for the food it's well worth it. They will get the flow down . The wait wasn't that long ...order nachos and salsa to tie you over...they are fabulous.
I hope this place succeeds because it is so different from the overpriced posh establishments around. Great flavors come out of this restaurant. This was my first time but I plan on coming back again and again. Delicious!

Everything served at El Toro Barbacoa is made in house and is DELICIOUS!! The mac'n'cheese was pretty good, not the best, but the honey BBQ tofu nachos, flan and kiwi passion fruit cheesecake were absolutely phenomenal. I could eat their cheesecake all day every day.
The food was fantastic, the service was great, the music choice was great, and the atmosphere was so cute! My partner and I loved it! We're definitely coming back with friends!

My husband and I had a great dinner tonight. This was our first time here and we'd definitely come back. We had the taco dip appetizer and for entrees, I had the chicken tinga tacos and he had the brisket with coleslaw, mac and cheese, and corn bread for his sides. Everything was delicious!! We can't say anything bad the food or the service. Loved it all!

We have ordered from here several times now. Every time the food has been delicious, whether a large or small order. The smoked tofu taco sampler is so good. Definitely recommend.

Yum!! Called in an order for a pulled pork platter, corn bread and a chipotle chicken bowl. Food was ready right on time (20 minutes from calling in) and the employee at the counter was super friendly. Absolutely no problem using my local flavor voucher. The pork platter was incredible along with everything else. Will definitely be back!

The place has an incredible cabin aesthetic feel that disguised any sense of relation to Mexican/Hispanic culture and its food. One would think you were primarily there for a good old fashioned American BBQ. I almost thought I was in Nashville! However, upon ordering the Taco Sampler I was simply impressed with the quality of their salsas and meats. Everything they placed on my tray was completely gone and I only craved more. Gave me an immense sense of nostalgia regarding any memorable parties my family has had with barbacoa involved. Delicious! And fairly easy on the wallet too.

Short wait, but that's not an issue considering its a Saturday at 6pm. Food as always was amazing, we did the BYOB for the first time with a mango margarita pitcher and it was so good! Our server Amber, was excellent. In and out in less than hour! Love this place.

Everything about this place is great! From the owners, to the attentive staff, and of course the delicious food!
Enjoyed the tortilla soup, along with their Mexican street corn mac and cheese (just AMAZING!)
My husband had the taco sampler and said the same great flavor. To round it out we enjoyed the chip and queso equally tasty!!!

Live local buy local. Dine in or pick up orders, the quality and service are always excellent. El Toro has been consistent since they opened and even through the struggles of these last 2 years. Our faves are the Cuban, the fries, quesadillas, nachos Barbacoa Mexicana and don't forget a Margarita and finish with Flan. You will not be disappointed.

I have been to el toro multiple times and loved every visit. I was surprised to see that there were some low scores. The reviews were from two months ago and talked about how unorganized they were, and said to wait until it gets better.
I am happy to report they have done just that. My visit was fantastic. The waitress we had was extremely welcoming and gave me a fantastic dinner suggestion (Carissa you were the bomb). The owner came and chatted with us and gave us free guacamole to try (it was amazing by the way, they make it fresh when you order it). The food came out quick, for the quality and quantity you get, the price is more than reasonable. If you ever want Mexican, barbecue, or both check this place out ASAP!
